I am sure everyone on here agrees.. Another great day for Speedway in the UK.. Now.. Where's me loo brush and me air pump....
-
I have no response emojis left..... Probably a good job.... I will add to the inevitable responses tomorrow......
-
Well. Praise the good Lord.... Been going through the rosary beads all day for the lad.... "Artem, take up thy bed".......
-
I dont think that Poiret, Miss Marple, Jessica Fletcher, Morse, Columbo, Kojak, or Frost (and even him off Midsomer Murders, that Bergerac fella), are needed to solve this case... The prosecution rests M'Lord...
-
Der. Der. Derrrrrrrrrrrrrr....... The thick plottens...
-
Best years well behind him if his Polish, Swedish and GP form is anything to go by.. Easy pickings for a lad so good... Still a big name so will get an excellent deal, and still put bums on seats.... I will go and watch him the first time he is at the NSS... After that? Watch this space...

When was the programme printed...? That would tell us much of what we need to know... Unfortunately Hercule isn't available as he is on another case in Poland... But, lucky for us, Detective Inspector Harris has stepped in....

Spot on... They seem to want to commit "death by a thousand cuts" don't they? Surely there are at least a few running it who must think "something needs doing"... They cannot all be so completely out of touch with what their customer base wants (and an even larger customer base who no longer attend) can they? I refuse to believe the likes of Mark Lemon and Chris Louis are happy to see such nonsense that pervades each week, season in, season out.... As ex riders who gave their all each time they appeared at all tracks, and are both positive forward thinking people, I amazed that they would align themselves, (and have their own businesses impacted by), some of the decisions made, and some of the people making those decisions...
-
Indeed... With the added bonus that if you do, you seemingly can officially go on forums and have an opinon on how the sport is ran...
-
Indeed it would... But... It would also bring great integrity, and that is something that all the umbrella associations of all sports should pride themselves on having, in both the eyes of fans, media, sponsors and competitors... And something that speedway, in the UK at least, struggles so badly in attaining that so vitally important reputation... Didn't a rider recently serve a several month ban "from all Speedway" when there actually wasn't any? When so many on here predict so accurately what will happen, time and time and time again, it becomes beyond parody.... And that is not a good look for a governing body of anything. ..
-
Usually those on here who "wear the club shop" every time they go... Or get in for "free" by putting the air fences up and cleaning the toilets...!
-
A 28 day ban? That would mean it gives Artem plenty of time to recover from what can be a very debilitating illness.. And helps any other rider with such similar non Speedway related issues.. I wonder why that wouldnt be implemented...? Answers on a postcard.. (And it would also help Bomber plan his diary).. Also.. Maybe they could have issued the statement when they got his certificate? Rather than a day later? Anyhow, Let's hope he gets well soon, and gets off his sick bed to turn up for the next KL match at home....

Ran out of likes for the day... Excellent Post. .

BSPL rates only mate...
-
No... He has gone back to ensure his Uncle Artem is only eating properly prepared food...
-
And that's it... Unfortunately though, we still attend in spite of the way it is ran, not because of the way it is ran... Which is a fraught place to be for your business if your customers view what you offer up in that way..
-
To be fair... They do put Bomber's name in EVERY programme printed for EVERY meeting in both leagues.. Just in case...

A Dr Zhivago signed it seemingly.. Who? No, Zhivago... I'll get me coat...

Did I read somewhere that Anders Rowe wasnt in the programme? Anyhow, I want CVS to give me six numbers for the Euromillions.. Could be on a hot streak... Lets get #mysticchris trending on twitter... Could be a whole new career for the fella... Spot on Lorraine maybe?

The good news though is that the Chuckle Brother who is still alive has found gainful employment within the SCB.... #stayofftheprawnsartem

They often talk of "working together", but seldom seem to do so.. As you say "Speedway Co-op" has to be the way forward... With one independent head of it to be the final arbiter of what is a fit for purpose operating model.. They have a unique product which can give fantastic entertainment, yet seem to want to commit 'Hara Kiri' in the way they run it... Truly baffling.... Edit : Even more baffling is that not one single promoter ever comes out and says "Do you know what, this isnt right, and we cannot ever hope to succeed doing the same thing".. Not even the more progressive ones like Louis and Lemon... Meaning that they must all be happy I presume..

Too many deluded promoters unfortunately.. Heads buried in the sand when things started to unravel.. Misguidedly believing that "their version" of Speedway still had some relevance and kudos.. The FIM comps expanded and Poland took over, but instead of accepting this, they ended up doing a "halfway house" thing of keeping the same level of riders who invariably didnt turn up as they were elsewhere pursuing individual ambitions.. Hence "guestfests" took over.. Hence any credibility it had was lost.. Hence fans left the stadiums in droves.. Many of these fans though still follow the sport closely, but just cannot justify paying over twenty quid regularly to watch it live.. And as crowds dropped off, inflation busting price increases were the only mechanic used to balance the books, rather than cutting costs on payroll.. Hence crowds dropped even further.. Even now, as we see today, promoters are still pretending that their sport is a "professional one" even though crowds in many places suggest it is no more than a "North West Counties Football League" semi pro level, (my lad plays in it and his team get around 600 to 900 a match). They get paid, but no one gets more than £100.. The majority of riders doubling up and down to remain as a pro... And guests, guests and more guests to allow riders to earn even more money to remain as a pro.. And all it does is devalue the very product you are trying to sell... Covid gave them a perfect platform for reset and radicalisation.. They didnt take it... You can only presume that not doing anything radical, or resetting the operating model, it sums up how they must view what they do.. "All good here"....

77 points worth of money paid out last night by Wolves... Ouch! KL only scored 10 points if you take that every team starts with a given 15 as a minimum.. Wow... And Wolves' 65 points were only five behind KL's total aggregate of 70 for both meetings.. Sadly KL and Peterborough have become cannon fodder for the rest of the league. .
-
And they would still end up with Bomber guesting...
-
KL must be under budget after tonight's points money is paid out...
