  1. Magnanimous in defeat.. I like it....
  2. Just like most races at all tracks... I will add though, whoever has gate 3 probably won't win...
  3. KL might have got beat using guests, which would be detrimental to the club.. And the sport is down to the die hards anyway who accept anything they are given, so they will always turn up.. And if some kind of protest existed from KL fans, or he got "punished" then Buster could just say "sack it, I will run just the (profitable) Stox".... So. Good luck finding someone to take if over if he did.. Especially as he is the landlord....
  4. That Ship sailed several years ago.. The BSB know their place and run a very successful Championship(s).. The WSB organically.take the best from the BSB who ensure a pipeline of replacements to keep their own competitions successful... For far too long the ego of the UK promoters clung on to wanting the stars who all, virtually en masse, cleared off when Sky pulled out... That was the time to "go it alone" on the best night for each track, and grow the sport collectively., as one... They didn't do it, as one or two GP stars said they would ride if you fitted their agenda... Now we are down to a bare bones number of teams, and a good job too, as just one more in either league and that league would struggle to fill the places.. Years of ego led poor planning and decision making is the challenge for Phil M....
  5. Of course... But the spiral started ages ago... Phil M has his work cut out certainly...
  6. Punish him and he can Foxtrot Oscar and just run Stock Cars.. No deterrent for any promoter unfortunately so they can all do what they want.. When they want.. In the interests of Speedway though obviously.....
  7. Away teams often agree to meetings in such circumstances... The Aces used to go to Arena on a Friday missing several riders on FIM meetings on the Saturday.. Bring in three or four ex Hammers as replacements and have a much better chance of winning...
  8. I divided by 3.... Doh!!!! Do I get an extra 5% for being at hone?
  9. The answer is obvious... (And it isnt a)... It is an (expensive) plaything for many, and a stand alone business for others.. Hence so many "Mickey Mouse" rules get made to get meetings on, regardless of impact to the credibility of the sport.. For once, there appears to be some thought that running a KL Select isnt the way forward.. As he owns the place, there will be plenty of Mondays and Thursdays to run this meeting, given fixed race nights mean riders will be available.. Poland allowing of course...
  10. It continued... They should have flown in Mickey and Minnie Mouse to replace Tobiasz and Patryk to give the punters what they want...
  11. Away teams regularly turn up with RR and Guests.. As it isn't their money to be earned.. The home team need to be strong, (hence they even get extra % for guests)..
  12. I roundly agree with him.. (For once)... It would be no more than a Stars Select.. You either want this sport to be taken seriously, so it can grow, or you don't... More power to Phil's elbow.. Noticeable too how the 28 day "let's do horses for courses and improve our team" facilities have become stop gap signings.. Little things, but from those small acorns etc, etc..
  13. Maybe Jason Doyle fits the category? 2010 Poole, aged 24, at reserve, running a 4 point average.. 2011. Aged 25, a second string at Poole.. 2017. Champion of the World!! A massive leap...
  14. Especially when you are not paying out for Ht 13 and 15....
  15. Both Pawlicki and Milik should have been part of a mid season change plan.. No point signing them on such a high average otherwise.. Hopefully that is what they have planned and a No1 arrives soon, and they both drop to their natural positions in a Premiership team..
  16. In this instance one third of the admission should be refunded.. If a waiter took your 25 quid meal off you, two thirds in, and said "we are closing early" you wouldn't be too impressed would you? The BSP should work as a collective (which they say they do), and, in this instance, KL should let their fans, who attended the match, in at their next home match for a reduced pro rrata price, and then get the money from Ipswich.. In a utopian world it would be a pro rata refund direct in cash or bank account, but doing it this way means attending the next meeting which will also help the clubs, especially as BHM draw the largest crowds, some their only visits so getting many of them to return has to be a positive..
  17. Wins a fair few Ht1's from the inside grid... And then usually tails off from there..
  18. Saved money on points, so maybe, a pro rata refund..?
  19. It would be good for the entertainment level to have Pawlicki performing at his best... The NSS should, hopefully, suit his riding style perfectly, and the racing, once again, delivers..
  20. Correct.. The 192 does mean a walk of about 400m or so, the 203 a bit less.. And you get to see our new bus station too....!! Sorry, I mean public transport connection hub.... The 192 route is, I believe, the busiest outside London, so buses every 5 mins.. A train to Belle Vue from Piccadilly Station runs, with Picc being 5 mins from Stockport, but the service to Belle Vue doesn't run frequently daily.. Simon Calder....
  21. What a ride..... And what a response from the crowd on his lap of honour... The Poles should take Speedway a bit more seriously....
  22. Another tactical fall...... His race was pretty much over when his team mate pushed him out..
