  1. Then maybe don't run it at all this week?.. The aim of Speedway in this country is to put meetings on regardless of whether credible or not, which is fine if it also accepts whilst doing this it renders the very competitions they are running as meaningless.. If the Sport cannot be ran under a team ethos with credibility them simply don't do it as you can never be a successful enterprise as it won't, and can never, be taken seriously.. And injuries happen in Poland and Sweden too, and often share the same injured riders as well yet don't lose credibility of their meetings.. Whilst running Domestic Finals using guests it simply screams "its not important, it has no kudos, it doesn't really matter who wins, but we just need to end the season"... A proper ran Sport would see it's domestic finals as a pinnacle of the Sport.. British Speedway sadly obviously doesn't follow the same principle and invariably reaps the income from attendances and wider media coverage it deserves.
  2. A rather selfish outlook NW...😂😂 These promoters need and deserve our patronage, let's be thankful and grateful for the magnificent bounty they put before us week in week out....😂😂
  3. I think a good old proper 'guestfest' will be perfectly apt and will top this season off nicely and accurately... And let's be honest what difference will a couple more farces make?
  4. What, really? One of Polands most famous, well known, well supported, and biggest teams with a Stadium that is amongst the finest of Speedway stadia in the whole world managed to retain their top league status against a team that errrrrmmmm... Has none of the above going for it.... Nothing to see here, move along please.....😉
  5. Surely that's one of the two main reason to have fixed race nights, bring some big hitters back and gain the Sport some credibility in team selections.. ..? Monday (if ten teams), five matches... Then on the Thursday the reverse fixture... Like the play offs show, a return match soon after a meeting can also bring a bit of 'needle' which can only be good for the Sport.. No point bothering with fixed nights if you still will end up with 'guestfest' after 'guestfest'... The danger is if still 'guestfest' after 'guestfest' takes place, the Sport will still end up having no credibility but now on potentially no credibility on untried nights for many teams where they try and attract a crowd base... You might as well stick to racing on nights you feel you can attract the best crowd if that's the case..
  6. I just hope the Poles don't gang up on Doyle and try and give Dudek the title... The pressure to be a Speedway World Champion in Poland must be intolerable for these lads given Poland only average one World Champion every 40 odd years or so.... Especially considering that they have only won ONE more individual World Title than Germany and have the same number of Titles as Wales....! 😉😂
  7. I know the Swedish system GW and as you say it's more like our DU system... (But with structure)! I think it was brought in to give the top Swedish lads more meetings and give the second tier a chance to have these riders riding at their tracks, as well as cover the dwindling amount of Swedish riders available.. What it doesn't allow is for one team in the same League to borrow a rider from another team.. Sadly that is the farce in Britain... Sign Jason Doyle and effectively you have access to every rider in the League and can cherry pick them on a 'horses for courses' basis when he is absent... Every Premiership team riding in the same night will prevent this, and should mean DU'ing becomes a positive in so much that teams will be competitive, riders will get plenty of meetings, and no fixture clashes between the two leagues means more credibilty as each DU rider can ride for his team(s) every meeting.... Having said that, I still believe in Santa Clause, The Tooth Fairy and The Easter Bunny so who knows...😦
  8. The track is also prepared similar to the 'first team' in that there is always plenty of grip... Many NL tracks are prepared very slick (even non stand alone ones)... Maybe the amount of dirt down and the speeds achieved intimidates a few of those who only see it once or twice a year? It might help you win home matches through bike set up but it won't really help your long term development riding on 'blue groove' tracks each week I would say..
  9. Put 'Tom Hark' on now Porky!!!! Der Der Der Der!!😁 Well done Robins... Those 25 point you didn't get off Lindgren and Thorssell made all the difference Wolves....!!! Has the shop got any 'Wolverhampton Wolves Champions 2017' car stickers for sale?😂
  10. Shussssshhhhhh..! Best track in Britain, always wins awards etc etc etc.. Noticed old 'Tom Hark' never seems to get played on a 1-5?😂
  11. The 25 points combined you would expect from Lindgren's and Thorssell's ten rides won't be there tonight... If Wolves deliver less than 20 from them it could be interesting..
  12. After spending £250 Mr Ore, I wouldn't waste any money on throwing good booze away...😆 Have fun.... And may the best 'team' win....😉
  13. Not a bad meeting, not a great meeting but came across ok on the box.. Nice to see Swindon built their own little 'Karlsson corridor' off turn two which the Wolves lads used often..!! Track was very slick in places, unfortunately for Swindon it appeared to be in places where they expected to find grip! It often looked when in front that that they rode a line they usually would without even considering where the opposition were, (as so confident of getting drive) and found themselves getting passed underneath.. Howarth proved there was grip but very, very wide. A great ride from him.. Not over though I would say due to the missing point machines that are Lindgren and Thorssell... Given how both are such Monmore specialists, off their usual ten rides you would expect them to rattle in 25 or so. Therefore a return of around 15/16 (not unrealistic) off their programmed rides on Wednesday by their replacements, will still give Swindon some hope as neither will obviously be in heat fifteen.. Depends if Doyle goes through the card I reckon. And that will depend if he hasn't got more than one eye on the GP...
  14. Tough rider too is Howarth... Pretty underated.... Steady progress rather than spectacular... Does his job most nights, ie beating his opposite number and every now and again pops up with an unexpected win.. A solid middle order man that every successful team needs..
  15. Effectively you could have the same rider's different scores in the two legs being the difference between the two teams he rode for.... Meaning he could actually keep himself and his team up... Whilst at the same time keeping himself and his team down... Or... He could get himself and his team promoted.... Whilst delivering himself and his team relegated.... (I think)!?😨 Good luck with that one Nigel....😉😂 Edit: will he shake hands with himself at the end.?😲
  16. Poland and Sweden don't use guests..... Therefore there is an alternative to having guests... Why don't Poland and Sweden use guests? Because all teams in the same League ride (in the main) on the same night, so riders cannot be in two places at the same time... Simply British Speedway facilitates guests through its several different race nights... Basically because they can have guests, they do have guests.... It's much easier than running the sport properly isn't it? And if the other argument is that there are not enough riders to go round then reduce the numbers in teams.... That would then produce excess riders to replace missing riders.... There are loads of foreign riders who don't earn fortunes riding in Poland, so I am pretty sure they would happily be on 'standby' over here and ride as and when the opportunity arises... What the Sport got away with 10/20/30/40 years ago it simply cannot anymore with today's instant social media... If it wants to carry on with 'guestfest' after 'guestfest' in isolation from other leading Speedway nations then fine... But by doing so, those who run the Sport forfeit the right to ever moan about poor crowd levels or complain about never being taking seriously by the mainstream sporting media..
  17. So BT don't televise the BV v Wolves match with a hugely controversial ending that would have made great TV.. A meeting that would decide who qualifies to try and win the Sports biggest domestic prize... But they will show BOTH legs of a contrived bollox farce where teams swap/share riders, that will end up with either (or maybe neither) teams riding in the Premiership next year? Looks like the Sport has a perfect media partner if they see this as credible...?
  18. The play off showed that all the four teams' top sixes were of similar level, with all of them having Number Sevens that struggled.... So maybe run six man teams and go with the Champion's top six average for next season for all teams? It means the Champs can maintain all their riders if they wish, which many fans complain is a major issue in the sport, as their favourites get moved on for mathematic equation issues rather than on track performance. .
  19. Is another farewell meeting planned this season?😨
  20. Lindgren had two riders to try and prevent passing him and tried to cover Cooks run as long as he could before realising Bjerre was almost now alongside (if not even slightly ahead but on the slower line as it meant a much tighter entrance to the bend for Bjerre).. Hence he turned into the bend a bit sharper than probably he intended, as previously he had gone into bend three wider in all of his races to keep momentum, which is vital at the NSS.. As he cut across he and Bjerre touched meaning Lindgren locked up slightly and Bjerre's forward propulsion kept him in contact with Lindgren.. At that speed it was a risky move from Lindgren to cut across Bjerre but he obviously felt in that split second he could do it 'clean' without contact.. And let's be honest that is exactly the sort of racing we pay our money to watch... Still think the ref got a close call wrong but you win some and you lose some... Falling off time and time again and throwing away point after point at Monmore cost us far more than one decision last night. And we did get away with Dan locking up causing a crash at Monmore too... Best wishes to Lindgren, these top GP lads are truly a level apart from even the 'good riders' and great to watch...
  21. Pure racing incident that could have gone either way.. Sadly someone has to go... Lindgren locked up just slightly and Bjerre simply couldn't avoid him... Maybe the ref was using the fact Lindgren was in front to exclude Bjerre? Probably, if on TV, the several replays would have meant Lindgrens removal from the race.. Definitely not a track to lock up on is the NSS such is the speed and usual close proximity of the rider behind.. Anyhow, done and dusted now, let's hope Lindgren isn't too badly hurt and can continue his GP quest for Silver.. He showed tonight (again) the difference between the GP riders and the rest when they give it the same level of 100% focus that they do on GP nights and when racing in Poland.. That small mistake apart he would have gone through the card again I reckon... THE difference between the sides... The racing to be honest wasn't that great as many races were strung out but the scores' close proximity kept it entertaining.. Dan Bewley, once again showed what a potential gem this country has..
  22. And in keeping with British Speedway the coin will be a 'double header'... I'll get me coat...😁
  23. Understand your frustration mate, but to be honest neither Competition the two Aces' teams are in has any credibility anyway so I wouldn't look too deep in to the ramifications of the respective teams missing riders.. Just go along on Friday, take it for what it is, ie yet another contrived event in a long, long list of contrived Play Off Final qualification events, hopefully see some good racing in front of hopefully a good crowd for once, go home, continue with life.. Not worth getting worked up about the workings of British Speedway, the tipping point of it ever being ran with the credibility of a 'proper sport' has long since passed.. And win, lose, or draw, it doesn't really matter, because everyone knows there's zero kudos in winning any British Speedway title.. If you go, just enjoy the racing and hopefully the red and blue helmets will score more than the white and yellow/black ones.. If they dont, then hey-ho, it will soon be forgotten..
