No. They cannot... If Poland decide to run on Thursday then the UK have to allow them to use riders they share. In this scenario you can hope that someone discussed the situation and a "common sense" agreement was reached .. If so, a good step for the sport in the UK, as it looks like the Poles are receptive to discuss things... However. If the Poles were adamant they were using Thursday then the FIM would have supported them and ruled in their favour... Fridays and Sundays are the Play Off days in Poland, but Thursday is their rearranged day for any meetings called off on Friday or Sunday.. Nice to see some negotiation has sorted the issue..

Phil Morris gave up Thursdays as a way of getting Polish top tier riders over here after negotiations took place with the Polish top tier organisers.. Therefore. The UK no longer has priority.. And Polish rearranged meetings "pull rank" on any UK fixtures, either planned or rearranged . Hence, if Wroclaw have to rearrange on a Thursday then, that meeting is now the priority meeting for league speedway under the agreement made with the major nations.. Nothing the UK can do about it...

Not paying top riders must save a fair few quid...

I think that giving up Thursday as their priority night means the UK really shouldnt complain if riders miss meetings.. By doing what they did means "perfectly fit" riders can miss UK matches.. Therefore, it is now "officially ok" to miss meetings over here... Not a great message to put out if you want Poland (and their riders) to take you seriously... And then to be inconsistent in their use of rules just needlessly compounds the problems they face.. Riders miss meetings virtually every meeting for various reasons so just plan in another guest for missing Polish league lads and move on.. No inconsistency of rules implementation because you wont need them...
