  1. Tom B showing he still has a fair way to go at this rarified level..
  2. Isn't tomorrow the sold ouit night?... Instead of moaning about the TV coverage, and crowd sizes, maybe some of you should attend UK Speedway meetings... Like me...
  3. I hope he does as well... As I've paid to watch him ride.... Didn't bother watching him at Ipswich... I am sure Brady,,given the event means something, will give it his best....
  4. Even more pressure on the promoters to get meetings on... Currently it is too easy to just call off meetings... A dwindling fanbase needs more confidence to attend....
  5. The pressure would come from the riders... No ride, no pay.... They would very quickly get peed off riding for promoters who cannot fix pit gates, or cannot get broken generators working, or have floods in their car parks, or floods on one bend of their track, or call off meetings following weather forecasts several days out, or (fill your own personal favourite one in here)...
  6. I've just seen a bloke with a long white beard, at the front of a huge boat full of his family, and thousands of animals going up the A6 through Stockport... Travelling away from Manchester, and shaking his head... He said he was going to try Buxton...
  7. East Stand A and B was what I was referring too.. Behind the start line from the first bend camera.. Getting it full would look good for TV... Although, I am sure a fair few tickets will be sold today given the weather looks not too bad..
  8. Wetherspoons? Is that still going?...😁 Edit. What a great opportunity for the Aces to be at the opening and invite both CEO and the founder to the NSS... Plus invite staff from the many Wetherspoons knocking around Grt Manchester... Adverts for the Aces in every one of them!!!
  9. I just think it was a natural demise... The novelty wore off, the hotel prices took the pee, the racing wasn't much cop, and well over a dozen tracks, some with big followings, have closed down over the past couple of decades.. Cardiff just mirrored the sports overall dropping fan base... Ironically the tickets were excellent value for money in the context of the size of stadium and overall event status..
  10. The only watch out will be the track being too grippy... I am sure though with the quality of the track team involved they will deliver....
  11. All good points... One GP at the NSS wouldn't be viable though.... Capacity would be around 4,500 as the East Stand would be cost prohibitive... You would be looking at every standing ticket over £100, and over £150 to sit down... I do think that the city centre in Manchester is untapped potential for the GP's to do a "proper" fanzone as all it does at the stadium is preach to the already converted.. The Aces would also benefit by doing something in the city centre alongside it...
  12. Best call the whole thing off today.... In the great tradition of UK Speedway....
  13. If it ain't broken... Etc. Etc. Etc.. Edit. And Cricket also ring fence their elite players and direct them as to where and when they can play through central contracts.. How much longer will it be before Poland do the same?..
  14. Hoping we get an upgrade like we did at the first SWC held there... Blocks A and B will be on camera most of the evening given there will be a camera covering the home straight, so making it look full would be a priority for me if running the event... Even a crowd of 12,000 will generate well over a million, so even if the Aces only make £150k or so profit that is still around five domestic matches worth of income... Maybe Mark Lemon will be speaking with riders this weekend to see if they want to come over?... Good luck with that, if so, especially given the current injuries sustained out of Poland by some top riders... I see Janowski got stopped from riding in Sweden on Tuesday by Wroclaw...
  15. Which is why call offs are so frequent... Fixture pile up pressure used to focus the mind on getting meetings on, due to often running weekly.. Now you still have plenty of Mondays and Thursdays left to run those postponed meetings.. Mondays and Thursdays later in the season which, (with a certain irony as the clock is suddenly ticking to compete the season), often get run in very ropey conditions!!! So much of what all this self policing does is show how important an independent governing body or person would be, as if they decreed, (as they would), "one point each, move on", so many more meetings would take place... Also, so many more riders wouldn't be allowed, (without proper sanction), to duck out of UK meetings whilst still riding elsewhere, and domestic meetings wouldn't be allowed to be planned in against other meetings elsewhere, when you 100% know riders will be missing... Hence, we will never have an independent body or person in charge..
  16. Any business, regardless of industry, cannot hope to succeed when your "opening hours" aren't regular... Expecting your customers to have to constantly check when you are open, rather than just knowing due to consistent opening is asking, and expecting, a lot...
  17. I think all can ride on either Monday or Thursday, if required, even if Monday isnt their race night... As they would if on TV... KL and BV can certainly do Thursdays, so a few weeks of all riding Monday and Thursday would clear any backlog I would suggest... Guests might be a bit harder to find admittedly if all rode...
  18. Or, seemingly, Kings Lynn... Or Ipswich.... Or Northampton... Or (insert name as and when required)..
  19. He scored enough in Poland last weekend to go private... To sort the knee out he can not ride with...
