Maybe not, but still circa seven figures in takings isn't too shabby for a sport with such a small following.... In other news... There cannot be many better places to watch Speedway racing than the entrance to bend three at the NSS.... The speed they hit it, and your close proximity to the racing, means you can truly appreciate the talents and reactions of these lads... So many races are won and lost at that turn, either by a dive bomb or the outside rider cutting off the rider flying up the inside... Brilliant to see... They should put a lower down camera there..

Just watched the Woryna crash and to be fair to him, Madsen did lock up slightly in front and drop speed... Obviously I much prefer to watch riders who can just gate, and win races on smooth, slick tracks, and are quite happy to ride around at the back, with zero intention to pass anyone, when they don't make the start in front... They are the real "box office riders"....

I like the 90 seconds, rather than the two minute warning... It keeps the action going at a good pace..... One race over, and bikes on track for the next one almost immediately...

A fantastic evening of Speedway... Hair trigger decisions being made in almost every race from front to back.. Cost me £142 for me and my lad, What is that cliché? Worth the admission alone? Many of them were... Let's hope for more of the same tomorrow...

He just turns a bike quicker than anyone else.. Never seen a rider before who can fly into an apex of a bend and then, instead of going towards the fence, hook the arse end round, and maintain speed and momentum... An incredible talent...

I hope he does as well... As I've paid to watch him ride.... Didn't bother watching him at Ipswich... I am sure Brady,,given the event means something, will give it his best....

Even more pressure on the promoters to get meetings on... Currently it is too easy to just call off meetings... A dwindling fanbase needs more confidence to attend....

The pressure would come from the riders... No ride, no pay.... They would very quickly get peed off riding for promoters who cannot fix pit gates, or cannot get broken generators working, or have floods in their car parks, or floods on one bend of their track, or call off meetings following weather forecasts several days out, or (fill your own personal favourite one in here)...

I've just seen a bloke with a long white beard, at the front of a huge boat full of his family, and thousands of animals going up the A6 through Stockport... Travelling away from Manchester, and shaking his head... He said he was going to try Buxton...

East Stand A and B was what I was referring too.. Behind the start line from the first bend camera.. Getting it full would look good for TV... Although, I am sure a fair few tickets will be sold today given the weather looks not too bad..

I just think it was a natural demise... The novelty wore off, the hotel prices took the pee, the racing wasn't much cop, and well over a dozen tracks, some with big followings, have closed down over the past couple of decades.. Cardiff just mirrored the sports overall dropping fan base... Ironically the tickets were excellent value for money in the context of the size of stadium and overall event status..
