  1. Puts pressure on the WC's for next year too... Presume both will get a WC so the "regulars" won't want to have a poor season..
  2. All six combine their riders now, so why not?...
  3. Plus he is a crowd puller away from home, which won't help attendances... Certainly has shown more "edge" to his racing this season, so, bloody typical such a thing happens when he is riding in the best form of his career... Who Wroclaw replace him with is going to be some question to answer. Can their top four take his rides?. If so Kurtz, Laguta, Janowski and Kowalski probably covers at home, but not sure away... I presume the Aces will use "horses for courses" guests?. They should have plenty to choose from.. Best Wishes to Dan, and hopefully back before the season end..
  4. The shape of the tracks determine whether "putting dirt down" works or not... The more circular ones benefit from it, the more "oval" ones ride easier when slick and smooth, especially given the way riders go in to the bends already virtually full on sideways, and full gas, these days...
  5. Put them all on ignore... And hope no one quotes any of them!!! When he comes back with another name, within one post, it is always very obvious who it is...
  6. Wouldn't look good with Mark Lemon heavily involved with both teams... However, it is UK Speedway, so........
  7. I would suggest it would mean circa 75% of all meetings that currently get called off either before the day, or on the day, would actually get ran... No earnings would certainly focus attention... As would no chance of a home victory...
  8. Amazing he can still be so positive... Best wishes to him... Let's hope his Polish team doesn't fine him!!! They certainly won't be able to replace him, probably will run RR/ZZ until he comes back... Hopefully he will be back before the end of the season... Such a shame given he was certainly currently top two in the world in real terms ..
  9. But that's one of the issues re zero jeopardy and consequence right across all facets of the sport... Given we are down mainly to die hard regulars, you don't massively lose punter numbers by running later in the season, and, similarly, you don't massively increase your punter numbers by being "successful"... Hence, it really is "Groundhog Day" every season... In last weeks Speedway Star, in the part where it goes back in time to show the headlines of the day, it had (10 years ago), a promoter saying he would close down if he couldn't sign a particular rider he wanted to bring in.... And in the 20 years ago section, it had a promoter complaining that a rival had signed a rider using an average that shouldn't have been used.... "They say we're young, and we don't know"...
  10. Will it be off to Glasgow for the GP qualifier..?😁
  11. Does it have to be a shorter fence? Or, as Northampton are at home, do they get an extra 5% of fencing?
  12. Not many meetings to fit in, and no TV schedule to work to... We go into October? No problem... 1300 - 1500 or so will still turn up.. They could even complete their season AFTER the PO Finals have been completed... Another season of the same old, same old, ticked off.... Job done... Roll on 2027, for more of the same...
  13. Undoubtedly.... But. Unless a radical overhaul takes place, (which won't/can't happen), then what we have is what there always will be till it organically finishes..
  14. Plus, if anyone has booked a hotel you can get your money back the day before if you have to cancel... As long as you have paid the extra obviously, which, if you follow Speedway, you really need to...
  15. The sport is beyond salvaging as a "proper sport" given the infrastructure around it that has been allowed to pervade over the past couple of decades... Therefore. Those who fund the sport make up the rules as they go along to suit their own requirements, which is fair enough as it is their money... They clearly have zero intention of the sport "being taken seriously" given the operating model they use, and the absence of any independent arbiters... "Being taken seriously" would be too expensive to implement, and would attract wider scrutiny, hence we have what we have... All promoters use the rules and regs to their advantage whenever they need to, and answer to no one but themselves, therefore can pretty much do what they want. And, as I say, it is their money funding their hobby and the sport, and, as we have seen, if any of them decide to walk away there isn't a large queue to take over their clubs...
  16. I'll guest mod for you when you're unavailable.....
  17. I agree, but.... How many fans does it really impact? 1500 at the most? 1500 who will more than likely be there for the next meeting regardless, given the sport is pretty much down to the die hsrds who accept "anything", so very little impact in reality.. Measure that against flight costs, hotel costs, basic travel expenses for UK based riders, and referee costs, and you can see why clubs call off the meetings early... Even more reason if you rent your stadium.....
  18. It MIGHT have effing rained!!!! Nobody seems to realise that ... So many negative posters, so happy to take the p**s, on this forum....
  19. Maybe use Farmer Palmer?.... "Gerrorf moi larrrrnd!!!!"....
  20. Give it time.... Give it time.... Nothing to see here, move along please, have you not got homes to go to?...
