He does seem to be becoming a bit of a knob when doing interviews doesn't he...? Poorly advised or too large headed maybe? I hope it is the former as currently he doesnt have too much to be large headed about given his form... Seems to want to be "down wiv ver kidz" a bit too much... Comes across as being far too "look at me" and not genuine.. Get back to being "normal" Tai, and dont alienate your fan base...

King's Lynn v Sheffield 23/06
mikebv replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Fans haven't taken away that emotional attachment to their team that a team sport has to have to have any chance of success, the promoters chose to do this... Fans haven't decided to run meetings on nights that their employees dictate they run, rather than when the fans can turn up, the promoters chose to do this... ,Fans haven't decided the admission fee.which is designed to pay a good number of riders to not have to work for six months of the year, promoters chose to do this... Fans haven't decided the ludicrous operating model that brings such very little credibility, and media coverage as you cannot take it seriously, the promoters chose to do this... This year's PCMM at the NSS, last year's SON at the NSS, the GP Challenges at Glasgow, and obviously Cardiff's crowd every time they run shows just how much of a following the sport still has in this country... Therefore, it is clear.... The 'SPORT' retains a reasonably large following in the UK... But the domestic leagues don't have the same number following them.... And for that to be the case, it definitely is not the fault of the fans.... -
And doesn't a sponsor pick up a hefty % of it? Pay what you can afford... And if you can afford "silly money" then so be it...

Looking at the crowds the TV matches get, maybe the clubs might not want too many covered? And the later ones covered in the season might at least have play off places at stake which may bring a few more out to attend..
-
Could have brought in Aunt Bessies aa a Guest Chip for the rest of the season.. Probably an improvement on their original No 1 choice...
-
Or maybe "one medium league" depending on how many could be left...
-
2 rides for the fifth rider in the averages and 2 rides for No. 7.. No 7 missing then two rides for No 6 and two for No 8... Many a guestfest could be prevented with a proper fit for purpose RR facility...
-
Takeaway RD... Every time...

Can't wait to visit... Looks like another "proper racetrack" that is deliberately set up to suit the modern machinery...
-
But we have guests and RR galore now.. Was it quoted on here a couple of weeks back by someone who did the leg work that less than 40% of meetings have taken place with full septets contracted to the teams on view? Therefore a top league running on nights when Denmark and Poland runs to accommodate Poole and Glasgow would be better off running RR when rider clashes happen rather than running full teams on Monday and Thursday.. (Ideally they would work around rider availability but probably very difficult to do logistically).. The top league needs to be the pinnacle and flagship to sell the sport.. Riders may lose the chance to DU, but if nothing changes soon they may not get the chance to ride for any team, never mind two over here..
-
Absolutely the right thing to do... They and Glasgow though, and maybe Leicester, need to be in Div 1 given size of following and infrastructure.. And if it means them running on their best nights rather than a Mon or Thur, to get a crowd, in then so be it... They are running a business after all...
-
When the UK launched fixed race nights their two nights were Monday and Thursday... And also Wednesday!!!! To accommodate Poole.. Maybe they should have Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as their two race nights to accommodate Poole and Glasgow? If the night they run is the most important determinant in delivering their best crowds then work around the riders availability to deliver it...

Used to be a "bond" to pay creditors etc if it all went "T" up... I think that got changed to "x" amount of total assets needed given having the cash to put up the bond became prohibitive for some.. Bottom line is, as an example, if you are losing £5k a week with 10 weeks left and can potentially get find £20k for stopping, you are still better off... NB. And if you have other solvent businesses the last thing you want to do is declare bankruptcy given all the ramifications that this would bring..
-
Assessed/Reassessed averages often mean nothing but can 100% be made to look what you want them to look like.. There has to be quality control when trying to sell a product... Controlled by those in charge of the operation... That team were clearly "miles away"... So much so all the "mystics" on here predicted exactly what has happened before a wheel was turned.. And that was even with them able to track a better rider at No1 most weeks than the one they recruited... Leadership is key....
-
100% to do with the league set up... The team chosen were not good enough by a country mile... Therefore "the leadership" of the sport should have not allowed it... If that was all he could put together then it should have been NDL or nothing.. Letting that team race against teams with up to 3 Div 1 HL's was a ludicrous decision and clearly doomed to fail.. As a leader you have to make very tough decisions sometimes for the greater good.. Speedway desperately needs that level of leadership...
