Can only speak for my team but Edinburgh started and finished with the same 7 in 2015 and in 2014 (both league winning teams)

11 for Cook what a great showing. Still one race left -
Monarchs 2014 Cook, Masters, S Worrall, Sneddon, Sedgmen, Fox, Fricke Not a team of 'world class' riders but we went 25 matches in a row unbeaten that season. Winning the Play Offs, KOC, Premier Trophy and topping the league. Could also add in the pairs Masters and Fricke won Cant recall a better team in my time as a Monarchs fan im sure there was some that featured more high profile riders.

Scotland's B Team Vs Scotland's A Team
Cj69 replied to kermitfrog's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Back from a very enjoyable meeting. A few passes but it was the close scoreline that kept it entertaining. Would guess most tigers fans would have hoped for at least a point but could feel a little unlucky not to get the win. But then again Monarchs could be said to be a little unlucky so a draw a fair result IMO. If we had M Riss in the team and clegg at reserve we would have lost. For me its time to seriously consider replacing Clegg (is Carr an improvement??). Would guess we will stick with him at reserve see if he starts to score. Finally I like the rivalry between both fans but some can go over the top. Both sets of fans equality guilty of taking it too far. Glasgow fans screaming and swearing like they won the league and Edinburgh acting like iv just slapped their granny. Cmon get a grip people not the end (or start) of the world. Maybe im just a wee softy. Thankfully had a lovely older group (of tigers) in front of me who gave my son a pound coin after he fell over and cut his hand while he was prancing around the railings. -

Oh my the banter is fairly flowing in here. Going for an Edin win but by no more than 10. Should be a good evening for it looks to be a pleasant day. Just hope the locals don't see it as a 'taps aff' day. -
Get my ladder. Climb to the top of the fence. call a 45-45 draw. Glasgow favorites but bottom 3 struggled for points recently. Edin riders wee bit inconsistent (thankfully not at the same time) need Davey and clegg to get a few points each. Nice weather and good racing with some light hearted banter thrown in. Is that too much to ask?

Line Up Complete for this meeting Justin Sedgemen - Belle Vue Sam Masters - Edinburgh/Wolves Kyle Newman - Ipswich/Poole Erik Riss - Edinburgh/Leicester Josh Grajcznoek - Sheffield/Somerset Kevin Doolan - Berwick Richard Lawson - Glasgow Max Clegg - Edinburgh/Wolves Ulrich Ostergaard - Peterbrough Mark Riss -Edinburgh Josh Pickering - Edinburgh Ludvig Lindgren - Newcastle Mitchell Davey - Edinburgh Aaron Summers - Glasgow Ricky Wells - Edinburgh Rory Schlein - Ipswich (note not riding order) A solid line up with most riders capable of winning a race or two. Hopefully a good nights racing to start the Monarchs season.

Come out of hibernation now our team is complete. My wee opinion on them. Masters - Shud end season around similar average very solid and dependable home and solid scorer away. Pickering - Seen him race in last season aus champs and certainly gave his all but was bit wild. If he's stuck in team all season will struggle but hopefully drop to reserve where he can take some easier rides. The potential is there. E Riss - Honestly believe he can achieve near 8 avg very focused and a double world champ (albeit longtrack) shows he's a winner. Clegg - Unsure of him, at home will score well but can be inconsistant. Needs to score away looked very amateurish at times. Wells - Most excited to see this guy in team always enjoyed it when he guested against us. Always tries and a dependable scorer. M Riss - Reckon he could be a very good scorer at reserve hopefully maintain his average in team. Ended last season well and came across rated better than Erik. Davey - really hope he can get a good run under his belt never be the best but should maintain his 3 avg. Overall a good team at home thanks to our track but will take beatings away. Top 4? ....I don't see it but top half of the table. Roll on 2017 and happy to year to all.

Now that this season is nearly over. Got me thinking that this was my 16th consecutive season watching/supporting Edinburgh Monarchs (including Scottish Monarchs). I then thought about my grandad who started going before the war (1935 think his first meeting in glasgow). Then every season from 1947. Sadly he never made a meeting this season due to bad health and old man stubborness (despite living next door to armadale). So what I really want to ask is how long you have attended speedway and what team (or teams) have you supported.

Glasgow V Newcastle Ko Cup Final 2nd Leg Tonight 24/10/16

Good to see Tigers getting a reward for all the work thats been put in. Now let their silly season begin with every rider and his dog on his way to Glasgow. -
Our season all over then (apart from 1? Outstanding fixture). Always going to be tough compared to other years but a decent defence. Have enjoyed this season with a lot of away teams providing some good moments. They all say can't win all the time which is true but it's damn good watching a season unfold. We will be back next year. Will we do well? Who knows but I will enjoy my speedway win or lose. Hope Glasgow can go on and keep the trophy up north. Right off to Torun for me now!!

Wee debate in our house when me and my dad watch the tiggers. I think its great really gets the crowd going and good to see. The father tho thinks he's a twit (or something similar). Either way he gets people talking. -
Won this battle but lost the War. Good to see some speedway tho and a great crowd. Poor meeting racing wise apart from Dan playing with Danny in a couple races 😆. But close score kept it interesting. Glasgow played it well and knew what had to be done, nothing silly and keep the points ticking over. Let's get a Scottish name back on that trophy.
