  1. Lawson shud have been binned months ago. Yes he has improved recently but the boy is a waste of space. I sung his praises when signed but huge disappointment. Maybe my expectations to high to begin with. Sarjent can certainly score points when he's on form and no doubt more than marson but i find it hard to believe there isnt better out there rather than him just being conveniently available (don't follow all the ins and out to know who) and cheap. If he proves me wrong all to the good. Anyway onwards to Friday with the visit of scunny to test out the 'new' team.
  2. FFS is that all we can get. Hopefully I'm proved wrong but don't see him scoring well enough to get us near the play offs. After the great signing in Masters this is a poor signing.
  3. Didn't we sign victor as a temp injury replacement, so wasnt gurenteed rest of season? What ever is going on its speedway that shoots its self in the foot. What possible reason could there be not to let a rider your not using ride for another club or is it as simple as Leicester are rivals this sesaon (when Edin were not).
  4. Wow, just wow. It's July isn't it??
  5. Shud be a straight forward win. Could be the last meeting for one of our riders so Will they go out on a high? Berwick certainly capable of getting a point so hopefully put on a show.
  6. Cookie might not have a chance to ride champ next season if he continues this form, he is currently averaging just over 11. Can't see any team taking him on that average or sacrifice lot of points.
  7. Always look forward to Rebels visiting after our battles over a few seasons ago. Monarch line up altered slightly with Lawson at 2 and Ricky at 4, the rest as is. Unfortunately weather forcast not looking to good and hopefully an early call off if it stays the same.
  8. Definate improvement having Sam in the team but the form of Ricky is a worry. Pleasantly surprised at Lawson scoring points and seems to be chipping in more now. Picko and Cammy also doing well and happy with the reserves contributions. Be good to see how we perform at home but I think the rain will put stop to that on Friday.
  9. Delighted to see Sam back and I'm sure bring a few fans back. However teams don't often do well with such a long tail and until Lawson is emptied we will not get near the play offs. Shame the 4s has been as we easily have the best top 4 in the league. Be better looking towards next season now. Get a proper average for Sam and give the 2 youngsters a chance at reserve. Although would guess Ruddick would come straight back in once his head is right. Feel hard luck for Victor and Joel who I don't think have done a bad job for 2nd strings and can feel a little hard done by by being dropped.
  10. There was always a little hope but that disappeared fast. Congrats Newcastle a very strong team at home and capable of mounting a decent shot at a play off spot. Too many riders not riding to (or near) their potential. Concentrate on home form now. Any points picked up away a bonus but focus must surely be to keep the home fans entertained. Give Coles and Ruddick (when returns) the rest of the season with a look at next year.
  11. Don't reckon 14 points will be enough but its a good lead to defend. For the monarchs Wells and Heeps done well enough but Wells still not hitting form and heeps terrible gating making it hard for him. Great to see Picko back and flying around the track like he was never away. The Swedes had their moments but should have scored more. And finally a meeting both our reserves scored well shocked at Lawsons 6+2 and an impressive Cole with 3+2. Diamonds just to many passengers with Garcia and Philips very poor. Worrall and weather's done what expected and clegg scoring very well. Very poor crowd with some strung out races but also some decent passes. A wins a win tho so on we go.
  12. Przedpelski 4 - 6 £100 MORE Pedersen 10 - 12 £50 LESS Michelsen 8 - 10 £50 MORE
  13. Our only hope of silverware this season? Newcastle will be a strong team at home and reckon we would need at least 17 points to relax a little. Not going to be easy at home first tho especially with clegg at reserve who will clean the floor with ours just hope Conor can continue on his improving form. Picko coming back from injury and Wells still to find form makes this a tough ask. Reckon we will get the win but not by enough.
  14. Unfortunately we have some glory boys who started 'following' us when we were winning and now if we don't win every meeting are calling for riders heads. It's quite funny watching them as they fall apart (usually on Facebook) . I see them in the pits all over the riders (selfies, clothes etc). Then after a meeting spouting off like the team just slapped their mothers. Sure we can all have a dig at riders who are underperforming but we have little to no idea what happens in the pits and behind the scenes. You win or lose then u move on with life. Wee bit banter, wee bit back and forth then on to the next match. Sucess is very rarely lengthy and tends to come in go. At Edin we have been spoilt no doubt about it. Well now it's someone else's turn, tigers may not have the trophys but they got the stababilty, exciting rides and fans back into speedway. Still reckon we should empty Lawson tho and ref was bias
  15. Well we got 35 many more than expected so take my hat off to them. Glasgow no need to get out of 3rd gear. Good score from Andersson and Victor, expected wee bit more from Heeps and Greaves scored well. Another break for us next week's with a juniors meeting so hopefully got our riders back fit and a new reserve line up.
  16. Monarchs team 1- R/R 2- Victor Palovaara 3- Nathan Greaves 4- Joel Andersson 5- Cameron Heeps 6- William Lawson 7- Connor Coles Embarrassing can see Glasgow hitting 70 now.
  17. Don't expect many monarchs to head thru never decent away support when home team expected to romp to a win (seen it from both sides). At the moment only riders capable of winning a race at Ashfield are Heeps or Victor. Glasgow shud easily hit 60 and I would be pleased if we got more than 35. Stranger things have happened before so there will always be a little hope.
  18. Let down by our 1 and 6 as has been said. Wells had the effort but looked very slow. Lawson showed a little bit more fight but still very poor turning up at 7 didn't help either. No idea what was going on with howarth, bikes ready in the pits when I went in. Then started to hear rumours Glasgow complained about our use of him (again only rumours) so wasn't much of a surprise when announced he wasn't racing with an excuse of family emergency. If it was failed drugs test no sympathy and harsher punishment needed. Few dodgy calls and starts but that's a Derby isn't it. Racing was OK the tightscore line keeping it interesting. Deserved win to Glasgow with cook superb backed up by Bickley with the others chipping in good points. Hugely impressed with Conor Coles who rode his heart out for only one point (would have been more if he didn't miscount). On that showing I would have him and Ruddick when he returns. Going to be a long season. Everyone I speak to seems to know of change in line up and they are all different.
  19. Would only say we are slightly stronger than last time. Dont expect Coles to score what ruddick would get and Wells seems in a downward spiral at the moment. However Palovaara should score well and howarth too. Narrow monarchs win should be achievable but a Glasgow win would not be a surprise. Expect a heathly crowd as you West lot will smell a victory. If you see a wee boy running around on his own be my son who is a cookie fan and I disown him this meeting.
  20. Hopefully Lawson is booted (Perry or Hume to replace?) . Also reckon segy will be back and Palovaara kept as a temp replacement for josh. Team not far away from being OK, need to see Wells be the number 1 he has been the last couple seasons.
  21. Couple need to pull their socks up (Wells and sedgy when back) another needs to take his socks back to retirement and stop ruining the good memories of who was once a very entertaining rider and is now just looks very disinterested (Lawson). Andersson and Palovaara pass marks and Heeps carrying the team in some meetings. Could be a long season ahead. No chance of points away from home and even home form looking patchy. And who we got next week.... Glasgow, God help us! Redcar are a good team at home and showed that. About time they had a bit more success on track, could get a few surprise results away and get into play offs.
  22. Well done Berwick promotion for this offer. I usually avoid Berwick because of the lack of racing and it's always cold (even in summer?) but at this price Its very attractive. If I wasn't working Sunday morn I would have been there with a few others but it's just not to be. On to the meeting should be a straight forward win for the home side with monarchs providing only a couple race winners I reckon.
  23. Nothing meeting. Similar line up to last season but with less riders. Yes good to see the old favorites back but a meeting I don't mind missing.
