  4. Lot of hype around Glasgow next season with a wealthy investor getting involved and a decent team being promised. Hope tigers can get back to some decent form and warrent a visit to Ashfield next season. Seems like heard it all before, can we finally rest at ease??
  5. Here a few of my personal favourites of recent times (last 10 years ish) all dominant during some point in their PL career. No doubt have missed some obvious candidates. Carl Stonehewer Peter Carr Shane Parker Chris Holder Sean Wilson Craig Cook Nicki Pedersen Bjarne Pedersen Hard to pin down one as the greatest but perhaps Stoney just edges it as a true PL great.
  6. Still enjoying the winning feeling and until the D & D is over not even gonna think about next years team.
  7. What a final!!! Edin looked comfy then bang in came a 1-8 and 2-4 back to back now falling into rebels hands. With monarchs looking slightly stronger in last few heats. Ht 13 starts and starts and starts again, from bend 3 looked like 1st bend bunching each time. 5-1 for cook & sam tho to get us excited again. Shared 3-3 in ht15 gives us a last heat decider.....Roll up Cookie and Sam. Correctly awarded after 2 laps thanks to Aspgren having a wee seat on track. Well done The Mighty smug Monarchs and well done rebels for another fine season and final. Same again next year??
  8. Absolutely love going to the OTA and wasn't disappointed (except the trek to the bog from the backstraight). Some great races mainly from the Rebels when monarchs gated. Im not a fan of this TR rule in 2 legged matches but its there to be used so be stupid not to if chance came up. Monarchs were led by a great Cookie (one heat apart) and Masters leading the way with small back up from Fricke and very lesser extent Sedgy. Felt Fox was right on the pace most races and improved each race, best iv seen him ride away with little reward. Deek was just wasn't at the races Rebels were great and looked dangerous in every heat shame Kennett didnt. Onto the Dale now. Can see the whole team scoring better than they did last night and more than capable of winning by 12+. These Rebels are no mugs tho. All to play for
  9. Steve has confirmed that he had broken his wrist. Shame for the lad not to end his great season on a high. Makes our task against rebels harder with max and justin plus reserves taking an extra ride. Or maybe a bit more even with them missing brady.
  10. If anyone is planning to head to Edin on the Sat note the earlier start time of 7pm and you can buy a ticket online for £14 (good value in my eyes). P.S also think fireworks are included
  11. Need to be very careful at the oak tree, rebels reserves will frankly pee all over ours there. Top 5 shoukd keep the score close enough for an exciting return leg. One thing I will complaim about is the dates of these fixtures, last season we managed to get 2 buses down but this year due to the return leg being ththe next night I know many wont be travelling down south. I personally am and cannot wait!
  12. Good meeting with some of the Witches really having a go. Heeps was amazing a superb pass on Sedgmen on last bend was buzzing all over him all race. Ritchie and Ellis also had some good races. The rest well just didnt turn up. Now onto the KOC champs. Did enough without taking too many silly risks. Cookie was class apart whether he gated or not and didnt see any rollers (that must have upset some 'fans). The rest scoring well. Onto a pointless meeting 2moz then the excitement starts again on friday
  13. Iv been a handful of times and not been disappointed only seen Edinburgh and the pairs tho. Of course get many FTG as with every track but get some spectacular racing aswel, not to mention the cider and the locals. It seems to be the perfect set up to me with a great bar area and a view from almost everywhere. Just wish was bigger/more food/drink outlets for bigger meets. Cant wait for my trip down on the 24th
  14. Pedersen Zagar MJJ Batchelor 50pt bonus - run off for top 8 just because i wanna see it
  15. Smugness has returned to normality (like it was ever really gone ) Shame gotta wait almost a week to find out opponents, would prefer Ippo or Scunny cause not been to they tracks, although Somerset is always a cracking track.
  16. 7 - Troy Batchelor 7 - Andreas Jonsson 7 - Fredrik Lindgren 7 - Michael Jepson Jensen 250 PTS = Smolinski or Harris to make the rostrum
  17. Cheers for the comp R&R. Told my wife about my win she wasnt as impressed as i was lol.
  18. Kolodziej 7 - 9 - £530 MORE All eggs in one basket for this one
  19. Great race between Cookie and King in heat 1 then cookie went wee bit off the boil. Fricke/Sedgy and Masters rode well for us. Special mentioned to Lewis Kerr superb out the starts and fast. Also great racing from King and Ludo. Onwards to Glasgow now. Wont be as easy as we have had it before but still fairly confident we can get the win.
  20. 6 Troy Batchelor 5 Fredrik Lindgren 5 Mikkel Bech 5 Jarek Hampel 200 Points = Greg, Tai and Nicki to miss the semi finals
  21. Can also buy a Ticket for all 3 meetings next week (Double on Fri and then Sat meet) for £37. Saving of £11 which isnt really that much. Around £30-32 for three meets would be more reasonable. Going to be poor crowds for next week I think. Dammed no matter what the promoters do when it comes to DH, Reduce ticket prices, keeps fans happy but lose out due to paying riders more/double. Or keep prices similar to reduce the loss made but impacts on crowd attendance.
  22. Moving bit more into my kinda era. I would like to think Leigh Adams would have won at least one one-off final. Always seemed the nearly man over the course of a GP season. 2007 seemed his most consistent season (winning 3 rounds) but beaten by a very good Nicki that year. Or would he be overshadowed by Crump, Rickardsson and Pedersen even in a one off final.
  23. Hes confirmed it himself Tai Woffinden ‏@TWoffinden 3m No good cant hold on Expand
  24. Can see Tiggers scoring more than Berwick. All depends what, Theo, Rusty and Kev turn up.
  25. Some should be quite practical others not so much, but heres my input. - One challenge meeting at the start for all teams (scottish cup, tyne/tweet etc) - Straight into league with KOC fixtures shortly after - Bring back 4s groups - Play-Offs, although not a fan, should be top 3. 2nd and 3rd in Semi then meet 1st in Final (more of a reward for top of league) - No TR but bring back Rider Substitution (to be used once only and no double points) - Teams must have a GB reserve (we can but hope) who cannot be dropped for a foreigner. - Limited to 2 double up riders per team - 30 sec time limit for rider to get back to tapes after an unsatisfactory start (except if rider has fallen) - Maximum admission £15 at all clubs. (Admit extremely difficult to implement). Ideally £10 but lets not get ahead of ourselves. - Team mascots. Not long ago most clubs had a young rider as a mascot, dont see it much now. - Points limit decided by last seasons winning team combined averages. Theres my two pennies worth.
