Edinburgh V Workington (pl) 29/5/15 @ 7.30pm
Cj69 replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
About average I would say. Expected a poor crowd given the opposition and iffy weather around the Edin area, but looked decent crowd on 3rd bend (usually a good indication). Nice to see some Comet supporters make the journey. -

Firstly hope the two young lads who came out in the 2nd half's are all right was a horrible looking crash. The meeting itself was very boring with almost no passing and races quite spread out. Credit to some of the comets tho, Wells always rides the track well and Pijper and Bach chipped in a few good races. Also nice to see Wethers back on track and a wee win to hopefully boost his confidence. The Monarchs all scored reasonably well without pushing themselves. Tougher challenge next week with Ippo and real test week after with the Money from the West gracing us with their presence. -
Edinburgh V Sheffield (plkoc-2nd Leg) 22/5/15 @7.30pm

Going against my fellow Monarchs here but feel strongly about this type on incident. Masters actions should have caused him to been thrown out meeting. Ok Bjerre stuffed him earlier in the race (iv seen much much worse), his reaction after the race to take him out then run over to him and throw couple punches on a guy who was sitting on track was mad then he had to get dragged away from him before finally composing himself. While I admit my view wasn't the best (3rd bend) it looked quite clear what happened. Iv seen handbags which tend to be a couple shoves and mouthing off but if you strike another rider then you should be thrown out of the meeting no matter who you are. Also add the ref would have had a very clear view (if he was watching??) Now to contradict myself. This incident did create a great atmosphere and well done to the travelling Tigers who were very vocal every time Masters came out but equally matched by Monarchs fans. It made the meeting feel more than a formality and added something else to what could have been a boring meeting. Well done on Cookies max which was slightly overshadowed and some good racing from everyone else. Garrity was very impressive and has a great style but there was little back up (Worrall and Bjerre throwing in couple good races) -

Should easily win the meeting. Just hope we get some decent races or could be a rather dull meeting. Garrity always worth watching and Compton looking bit like his old self. Firstly will take a dry evening. -
Edinburgh V Scunthorpe (pl) 1/5/15 @ 7.30pm
Cj69 replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Rather enjoyed this meeting, Scunny weren't total push overs despite lack of race winners. Wilkinson particularly impressive with a full compliment of 2nds. Monarchs top three never looked like getting beat till Cookies tumble in his 3rd. Clegg providing much of the entertainment with a couple battles with Luuna. Took a few newbies along who enjoyed it and are keen on returning. Couple crashes, close racing and of course drinks from the bar helped. -

Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
Cj69 replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
NZ (and Aus/SA) do allow a few players a year to play abroad and still play for their country (should they be picked). There are conditions though like being available for their country and training camps if needed. IMO we see sports men and woman all the time not compete in their own country but still represent us. Why should Tai be stuck riding in GB? Poland and Sweden have a much more competitive and structured league and he thinks that's best for him at this point in his career. Why cant we just respect that? -
Edinburgh V Glasgow (lc) 24/4/15 @7.30pm
Cj69 replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Quite an entertaining meeting against a 3 man Glasgow team. Never thought we would lose throughout but Glasgow always kept plugging away including a disastrous TR ride (2 week in a row). Always like seeing Morris never gives up and had some cracking races same with Summers who pops up with a decent race (but usually throws a dud in there) and super dane at reserve who gated his way to an impresive 10+3 (with 2 wins). The rest well just made up the numbers iv never seen Lawson have a good meet (shud pop along to Glasgow more often ) Smith had one decent race and Berge never at the races but picked up some gift points. On to the Champs, Cookie and Masters as expected (thot one would get a max tho) but decent return. Wolbert and Sedgy decent back up. Riss trying wee bit to hard threw away easy points couple times (mainly ht14). Reserves were up and down showing good signs but some scary ones. Very happy to see a competitive Glasgow team even with a depleted team and already looking forward to the League meeting. On to Worky now where without Wolbert think we might struggle. Also add that with the threat of weather meet was over by 9pm, well done Ref/Riders and track staff. -

Sun has been shinning all week lets hope it once again shines on the track of dreams. Looks on paper and current home form that Edinburgh should walk this and would expect them to hit 55 without too much trouble. But these pesky Tiggers have momentum on their side since they cheated there way to victory (cant possibly admit you won fair and square or the Smugs will be after me ). Always look forward to seeing the new Boo Man Morris visit the dale possibly one of the best visitors we see every year. Not much back up with Lawson/Berge/Smith not known for being fans of paradise but the ever popular (well until this season) Summers usually has a good race or 2 in him. Expect a decent Tiger following through from the west and also expect a decent following back home with tails between their legs. Nice to see good bit of interest in these fixtures this season, really adds to the occasion just hope the idiot fans from both sides get lost on their way. -
Edinburgh V Berwick (lc) 17/4/15 @7.30pm
Cj69 replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not the worst meeting iv seen but not the best. Cookies gating was dreadful but led to some passes at least. Sedgy and Sam never troubled. Kev having a good night with a decent pass on Jorgensen late in the meet. Also good to see Riss looking very smooth in front eventually. Reserves were hot and cold with Clegg on the pace and got a great reward after Jorgensen and Doolan messed up TR. Branford tho looked like an amature on bends 3/4 (but on 1/2 looked great). Feel sorry for Berwick like most have said seems they are beaten before turn up. No Vissing and a poor Barker (not sure if was bike or injury probs or both). Expected a wee bit more from Doolan but its always nice to see him at any track rarely gives up and a genuine nice guy (rightly got a good reception after heat 15). MPT i dont know that much about so didnt expect much same with Jorgensen. Though Edberg should have picked up a few more points and Crang just lacked experience. As for the track debate. It is a trick track and very unlike most any riders will have ridden before. Some can turn up and get it instantly (N Morris) and other more experienced never do (Screen). See it more apparent in Riss, from Long/Grass track to Armadale like chalk and cheese but he is getting the rewards after putting in dozen or so lap after meets (something away rider will never get). Went to Berwick a few times last year (closer to me than Ashfield) and hope they get a decent run going and crowds can get to sustainable level. -
Gutted to be missing this. The atmosphere will be amazing something that has been lacking for years. Last heat decider would be nice, just bring an extra ambulance if that happens be a few dodgy heartbeats. Cant bring myself to predict a Glasgow win so will say Cook and Masters 5-1 to win the meet 44-46.

My opinion of the new Tigers from what its worth Enjoyed my visit to Ashfield today. Some of the delays couldn't have been prevented (hope the 2 guys are ok) and the tapes issue dragged on a wee bit not to mention Ht15 reruns (didn't have the best view to comment on it). As for the track started FTG but improved as meet went on with some decent races. Facilities are top class even tho some space has been sacrificed namely bend 4 and back straight. But a great view on that raised platform on bend 3 and fascinating watching the pits. The entrance is stunning and really blew me away. Onto the team, expected more dominance but still early in the season and shud be right up there. Come mid season it will be a very smooth run operation. Well Done

Great reward for the Tigers already. Sky meeting May 12th vs Sheffield at Ashfield.

Even as an edin fan I really cannot wait till the Glasgow season kicks off won't make this Sunday but week after I will be bombing along the m8 to watch the new tigers. Well Done all involved. 2nd place in league should be a good reward for Ur efforts

Great Stadium Great Track Great Riders Great Crowd and One Legend of Owlerton Ricky (still fastest man in British Speedway) Was chuffed to bits to see him at this meeting and the entertainment that was put on was superb. Loved watching the 125cc boys doing some races dont get to see them often, some great potential there. Bit disappointed in the F2 bikes they sounded terrible and looked hard to control. Had a long drive home afterwards so left right after last race. Hope the after meet events went well.

If You Could Bring Back One Rider...
Cj69 replied to TonyMac's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
As an Edinburgh fan would love to see Peter Carr back. The way he rode the inside line on 1/2 is something that will never be done again (Schlein and Tully came close tho). Another simply cause hes considered many to be the best to watch would be Mauger in his prime, it must have been something special. -
I couldn't care if Tony Atkin deserved one, I wouldn't have went even if he did. Theo Piper is getting one and I will be there. Fans will attend if they want to, no matter if he rode for them once, twice or guested for their team. Does there really need to be a defined period before allowed one? Might devalue it for you but not others.
