  1. Cant ask for much better a last heat decider. I tend to avoid all the Monarchs v Glagow matches now (as I did tonight) Had bad experiences at both tracks from so called fans , don't mind the pantomime stuff too much but some people take it far to seriously (as with most sports and just don't understand it). Hopefully similar edge if the sofa stuff in the next couple fixtures.
  2. Excellent @Marksman Will get the laptop and give this a go.
  3. Well done. I played around a little and of course put myself in the game with a realistic 9pt average
  4. More methods that work the better. Nice work!
  5. Very interested in how you lot are getting in with updating rider details. I will need to have a closer look once I get the computer back. Glad to see after so long we have this game up and running.
  6. Very quick guide how I got the game working. Don't have computer to hand (wife using it for work) so apologies for any mistakes will double check this evening. 1. Install a VirtualBox (I used one from oracle). 2. Download windowsXP (or 98 if preferred). I googled 'Windows XP for Virtual Box' and found one pretty easy. 3. Run VirtualBox create new 'box' for windows XP. I followed all the steps and didn't change any settings (Used default settings). Was prompted to find downloaded Windows XP to load from (I put file on desktop for ease). 4. Go through Windows installation (this took longest time for me). 5. Once complete and running XP I installed Guest Additions (was found in the devices menu) 6. Once guest additions installed I could drag the Speedway Promoter file (which was still compressed) from my win 10 desktop to XP desktop. 7. Unzipped speedway promoter files then copied these into the GDW2002 folder under windows folder (found in my computer icon in start menu). 8. Played game by opening from same folder copied files into. This is the way I done it. I am by no means an expert and others may have done it different and got it working.
  7. Yeah copied those files into the GDW file. It's a little nostalgia trip looking at the riders. Maybe only 6 still riding.
  8. Happy to say iv got it working. There goes my weekend plans. Extra info. The game tends to freeze on me often. If you save regularly it shudnt be a problem to just close it down and load up. Does eventually un freeze but can take a few mins.
  9. Iv still not had time to try using win98 or 2000 (previously I used XP). I don't hold out much hope for either. Iv not got FS. Does anyone have a copy of that available?
  10. First couple attempts I was having trouble transfering the game from my normal desktop to my virtualbox desktop then computer poo'd itself and gave up. Going to try from scratch on the better one when I get time.
  11. Will keep you all updated but I manged to get the game running using a Virtualbox with Windows XP (from my Windows 10 laptop) however each new screen appeared ontop of each other rather than replacing, made the game unplayable. Running a new virtualbox on win98 now see if that's any better.
  12. Looking forward to this and really good idea to hold it after Cardiff IMO. As long as the start time isn't to late that's my only concern.
  13. Great news. Holding fixtures on a Fri night should attract a decent attendance. Expect both Miller brothers to be in the team. Could Lawson make an appearance to lead the team?
  14. Next on the list another monarchs has been . The shock signing that is Sedgmen. Another cracking video tho.
  15. Tad harsh Pickering has done alright
  16. Good to see 2 new boys both with some potential but Armadale a hard track to get used to. Sarjeant won't improve much but he shud score a few points a meet. Lawson very disapointed last year despite the improvement once season was over. Better start building his bike now to be ready for first meet.
  17. Sarjeant, Lawson back with new boys Kye Thomson and Lassie Fredrikson the last 2.
  18. Guy not getting any younger and this career doesn't last forever fair play staying with glasgow where he will no doubt be top rider in the league again, hopefully get a prem team sorted too.
  19. Wow wee bit banter and all this nonsense starts (thot emoticon showed that) . I had heard in Oct (while at the golden helmet) that Ricky was going to Glasgow next season so can see why ppl think he was lowering his avg. I don't believe for a second he lowered his average but some can't accept riders move on. Glas may not offer tons of ££ but I'm sure they offer consistent payments and decent sponsorship opportunities that may not be the case at all clubs.
  20. Agent Wells away on his mission . Shame to see him go he's a steal on that average and he would have always been on my team sheet if the money wasn't flashed thru West Expect to see him guest against us a few time during the season.
  21. Great signing to compete a very strong top 3. Sam and Richie should maintain there averages easily and josh is on the way up. Can't win the league with just strong heat leaders so lot will rely on the next 4 signings.
  22. Would take Sarj back if he starts season at reserve. Lawson on the other hand no thanks. Ruddick first choice for a low avg reserve if not him Coles impressed me with his efforts. Bickley be another decent at reserve but can't see that happening. Would happily see Joel Andersson back but we may have burned our bridge there.
