There maybe perfectly logical reasons for the seemingly absurd fact that the Home Match of the NL KOC Final is currently scheduled for 25th September - and the Away Match at Stoke on the 22nd OCTOBER !!!!! - in so being, not doing much to keep the interest flowing for A CUP FINAL - may I suggest. And this being a day AFTER Mildenhall's End of Season Presentation Evening. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but surely this is far from ideal on many fronts.

British Grand Prix, 25/06/11
gibralta replied to alan_boon's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You were obviously not where I was, I saw perfectly innocent middle aged people being intimidated and antagonised to the point of having to continually move away from it, and not just once either, - not mentioning guilty nationality, but they were NOT British. I also saw a lone Female Steward after the meeting trying to control absolute mayhem - looking at her face she had obviously been the victim of serious assault. SHAMEFUL sign of the times. CARDIFF - for all the great atmosphere and entertainment by the professionals on show - NOT AGAIN FOR ME IF THIS IS WHAT IT HAS COME TO. -
Cardiff Tickets On Day

Bought tickets online this morning to pick up from the Box Office on the day, whereabouts is this located please? -
I think you have summed up, more than one issue, very well Malcolm.

Good post - totally agree with your comments.

Another indication of the crazy, unjust, and non logical world we all try to live in today.

To those who want to see it - I think it is becoming clearer that the decision made by the BSPA was in fact a correct one. The one thing that was imperative this forthcoming season, after recent season debacles, was that Mildenhall Speedway had a TOTALLY Professional Promotion in place - after some of the behaviour on here surely that would have had to be questionable. The potentially shameful part, and question is:- Will the MILDENHALL FEN TIGERS ever recover from this lastest shameful exhibition ??
-
After going through thousands of words, differences of opinion, etc; etc; on this forum - I am still somewhat confused as to who / what was the final straw in terms of Mildenhalls aborted / refused / withdrawn entry into the NL for 2011. It would appear from what I've read, on the lines, and between them, that Steve Ribbons was not acceptable to the BSPA as a potential Promoter for whatever reason - please correct me someone if I'm wrong about this or any of the following. WAS THIS A / THE REASON ?? It would appear that Kevin Jolly was possibly seen differently, but with Kevin quite possibly not being involved in Speedway since being a Rider, in any Official capacity anyway, perhaps one could understand hesitancy on the part of the BSPA there in terms of a Promotional spearhead. WAS THIS A / THE REASON ?? In terms of financial input required by the BSPA for any 'new' promotion at Mildenhall, bearing in mind previous and recent history (which had to be considered), I would have thought the financial requests were reasonable, as quoted/stated, and to be expected. WAS THIS A / THE REASON ?? Therefore - WAS IT FINANCIAL / PERSONAL ?? - OR BOTH ?? It leaves me only to say that:- 'talk is always cheap' - 'action is often expensive' .......... and can be expected in every situation and all walks of life.
-
Not knocking the ideas - but all a bit premature prior to getting permission to operate one suspects. If I had more money I may be a millionaire .................. it goes on.
-
If BSPA members came on here, as you suggest, and aired their views it would be the first thing people would complain about - quite rightly so, and of course it would be totally wrong to do so anyway. This is for trivia and individual opinion - some of it nothing short of bull----.
-
That's a statement that will not help the Mildenhall cause for now, or the future, typical of what should be kept to one's self if that's the opinion. Foolhardy comment in my opinion.

Lots of people spouting off on here - all I will say, and remind people of, IS THERE IS ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY.

Mildenhall - Who Decides Who The New Promoter Is?

You may just have said the right things to get yourself a role other than 'buying the bacon rolls' this time round. -

Precisely the point - that's what 'meetings' are for - are they not?.......... -

Now who of 'sane' mind could ague with any of that? - no doubt some sad case will. -

Now here's someone who knows what they're talking about - absolutely spot on. And could justifiably be termed as professional. -

Sledge Hammer to crack a Nut springs to mind - but I guess that's how refined the sport is. -

Don't think anyone who talks sense and thinks logically would disagree with any of this - good post. -
Much easier said than done of course - when your son has travelled, and ridden for (risking life and limb in doing so) the Club, justifiably expecting to be paid accordingly for doing so. Not just once either! - it's hard enough for these boys financially anyway without this kind of issue.
-
Really sorry to hear this - unfortunately when a club withdraws from the League it is not just that clubs riders that are affected - the knock on effect for other riders is something that is often , and totally overlooked. Another reason for Mildenhalls withdrawal, at this stage of the season anyway, being a disaster.

Fen Tigers Fans Meeting Sunday 1st August 2pm
gibralta replied to Nikko's topic in National League Speedway
Very truthful post Neil - I'm sure no one could justifiably disagree with a single word of it. -
All a very, very, sad state of affairs - looks like the future, if indeed there is one, of Mildenhall Speedway is TOTALLY in the hands of these two apparently waring people. Sad indeed for all supporters and people who have given their time and effort freely in running the club for so long. Once again Speedway scores another own goal I guess.

Mildenhall Fen Tigers V Isle Of Wight Islanders

Sure will be good to see Jon back in a Fen Tigers Team again - not forgetting the appearance of Dean Felton back at the Fen, a true 'team man' if ever there was one.
