  1. If changes are to be made don't expect any blockbuster signings ,CVS dosent have deep enough pockets to go down that route. Remember also during the Covid pandemic he had to plead with the council to relax the rules allowing more people through the turnstiles to break even otherwise there was a real possibility he would withdraw Wolves from the league. Of course, everyone wants to win the title, but I expect the main aim is to provide the paying public to enjoy going down to Monmore every Monday night rather than any lofty ambitions of lifting the Championship...Wolves have a budget for the season and its adhered to. C.O.Y.W.
  2. With Becker needing to step up to a genuine heat leader, giving more support to Masters is a big reason .If he doesn't do it this season he never will. On his good days he can beat virtually anyone, but on his bad days.... .
  3. No love lost between Wolves and Coventry fans Lisa,in fact I'd rather see the Spoons back before the Bees .
  4. Because being a ex Coventry fan he's always had a huge chip on his shoulder about Wolves, probably because we are able to go each week and he's stuck in the house watching Coronation St.
  5. It's like living in an echo chamber reading some of Pauldoveyspeedway posts, most of them make no sense .
  6. Just glad I don't have to stand next to him at Monmore,I'd be leaving with terminal earache .
  7. The thing is,if he wants to criticise Wolves riders(and he has done ,also saying Douglas and Flint can't ride Monmore) then he should put his comments on the Wolves thread, just to see what reaction he gets from his fellow fans.(That's if he supports Wolves)...It has f... all to do with Peterborough.
  8. Have you been up all night, thinking about what to say next. This is about the 20th post on you're opinion of Masters.Just stop repeating yourself.
  9. Not according to his podcast in the Peterborough Telegraph earlier in the season, unless he's changed his mind.
  10. Peterborough Utd chairman Darragh MacAnthony has said he will walk away at the end of the current season.Tomalin will be better investing his money there than with the Panthers,at least he will get a quicker return on his finance. Think he already sponsors Peterborough City,so he's already into football.
  11. And according to Shovlar has the greater potential.
  12. But the land, grandstand, fixtures and fittings etc etc are not the only financial outlays. What about the utilities to basically be installed in the middle of a field.Electic, sewers, water, telecommunications, and a huge drainage system would also be needed. You don't get all these things put in for free of charge, that's why there aren't any new tracks appearing in the UK being built from scatch. With the amount of people coming through the turnstiles speedway just isn't a viable proposition.
  13. The one thing I miss about Cradley is the track.Dudley Wood had a tremendous racing circuit, ideal shape and length. The only thing I didn't like about it was the colour of the shale, where as the Monmore surface has always been red, Cradley had a brown /grey colour although tbf it was always immaculately prepared.
  14. We could debate for hours......... Have done for 218 pages.
  15. Biggest problem total lack of aggression, you have to admire anyone who sits astride a speedway bike, but unfortunately for Drew whether it's a lack of confidence or a unwillingness to dice with the opposition who knows. Adams gave him opportunities of an extra ride when the result was safe and the pressure was off,but for what ever the reason he always failed to deliver the goods.Good luck to the guy in future, but if he wants to progress in the sport his outlook will have to change.
  16. And how many decades will it take to see a return on his investment.. buying land, laying new track, building new terracing, etc etc. It's not financially viable..He's a businessman not a charity.
  17. It's a pity this topic didn't go under'Local Derbies'...Parry,s Sponsorship should have been in the Wolves thread.
  18. Blame Alexa...Oxford to Swindon 48.4 miles.... Wolverhampton to Cradley 9.3 miles by road ...Talk about splitting hairs.
  19. I would say some of the most fiercely held derbies would be between some of the old London tracks, only visited a few of them, some could be tasty, but wouldn't include Wimbledon they were far to civilised coming from the posh side of town lol.
  20. Nah...doesn't even come close, can't even call it a local derby being nearly 50 miles apart, where as Wolvo and Cradley is only eight as the crow flies.
  21. They certainly seem to have a lot of time on their hands in Peterborough, might even have Barry Fry joining the debate very soon(apologies to all non football fans)lol
  22. Wouldn't put the gate up at Monmore, might send it down. Then again, some may go just to boo the pantomime villain.lol
  23. Nicki P now 45 years old ,half his body probably held together with screws, made a good living from the sport, just why would he risk further injury to himself for a last hurrah in British speedway.
