Wonder how long before the text sevice disappears from our sceens for good,Sky ended theirs on wednesday,ITV finished last year, and now only BBC remain.Bit sad really, always chequed on there for the latest news and results. Sorry to see it go off Sky,just wondered how much it costs to provide this service. Most will say go online, but just not the same, especially when there,s not a lot on the box,and you like to keep updated.

Elite League 2014
Tommy Sweetman replied to Irk Deflector's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
According to Pearson in the local rag.talks will take place this week between the clubs. Presume this a little appetizer before the real bull$hite begins. -
Probably Vic Wakeling, think he retired about four years ago.
-
Id be very suprised if he was still a Wolves asset, might even have negotiated the cancelation of his contract on his release.TNT will know for sure.
-
Is he a Panthers asset ?.I know he was released by Wolves due to the turning up when he wanted to saga.

Have to say probably the only reason ive kept Sky Sports is for the cricket. You have to applaud Sky for their coverage, its on all year round(currently watching India/Aus)and they spare no expense about the way it is shown. Would miss speedway if its not on next season, but still go to the meetings at Monmore, and then watch the recordings when i come back. The BSPA will miss Sky,more than Sky will miss speedway. The promotors have had plenty of time to get get their house in order, but have fell woefully short, and fear now they will pay the cost.
-
Not only footie and F1 where Sky are spending thier money, secured a 4 year deal with the ECB to show domestic cricket and home Tests for £300 million.Add on money to the ICC for overseas matches, and you can see which sports mean more to Sky. And speedway certainly aint one of them.
-
Sorry yes unsustainable.Regards "business empire" presume you mean Dugard Tools.Well ive bought some CNC machinery from there, and i can tell you, if the speedway operation is run in the same manner as the engineering company, then the purse strings are about to tighten.
-
Yes,but to lose £4,300 per meeting(according to Dugard in the Argos)is unsubstanial, wether its rent free or not.
-
Surely Brum averaged more than Eastbourne,s alleged average home attendance.
-
Gotta agree with all that Wolfie, and because you go to the away matches as well, you see them perform on different tracks,so trust youre opinion. Must say, i think Ricky Wells was the biggest dissapointment(even though his average doesnt say so).I had him down to make the big breakthrough this season, becoming the third heat-leader.He didnt, and there has to be doubts now he ever will.

Havent you noticed,he swoons on everyone that is/was a Spoon. -
Pretty sure Pearson,s parting shot last season was "See you all again next year ",absolutly no mention of that last night.
-
Looking at the crowd last week at Poole,at least half the crowd seemed to be of a older generation.Or was it just because it was Poole, which is a bit like Hastings and Eastbourne and has a higher proportion of older people.Bet Matt Ford,s not complaining though.

Theres no roads on it at all. There is the airport(which i suppose many people didnt know about)and er----------------------------Dudley Zoo.And for the brainboxes Mensa, which is wolverhampton based.
-
Bet CVS is over the moon with the club being valued at £180m.And are Wolves Speedway unique. Being the first speedway team to be represented on -----------------------------MONOPOLY. Wolverhampton Monopoly out today, wonder how many of the 250,000 population know how to play it.

Tai on BBC Breakfast at 7.30,perhaps he will shed more light. -
Love Freddie to stay, but if we are all honest,he does need a change.Ten years are a long time to be at one particular track, hes had his testimonial,so new surroundings might now be a benifit to him.Been saying for a while a bigger track might help his GP performances, but fear it may well be to late for that now.Unless he gets Sweden,s wild card, next year he will miss out and have to concentrate on the domestic season. If hes got a choice, think he would like to replace NKI at Lynn.

Tai Woffinden
Tommy Sweetman replied to David Haddock's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Well done young un.---- And a hearty top of the world to you.Fantastic effort for one so young and who will be greatly missed at Monmore if all the doom mongers are right, and we lose all our top riders. Now Britain has a World Champion,we just cant let it happen.Lets just hope Sky take this on board and help stop the decline in domestic speedway in this country. -
