Dull and muggy.Had a few drops earlier today, hardly wet the ground. Looks like a few showers later, but think the meeting will survive(famous last words).
-
How do you work that out.Schlein has scored 13 points in two meetings for Lynn at Monmore this season. Pawlicki would probably have scored that on his own in the meeting tomorrow.

Lakeside V Wolverhampton 4th July
Tommy Sweetman replied to TonyE's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Wells is a big mystery to a lot of Wolves fans SCB.I have been saying at the start of this season(and last season)that this was going to be his time. Sadly,it just hasnt happened, and there are doubts now if it ever will.He is still quite young, but certainly hasnt made the progress we had all hoped for. Regards Jacob, certainly seems to be making a better fist of it in the UK,than he is in the Swedish league as a number 7. -

Have to agree on all those points Wolfsbane.Only pride left to ride for this season, and we dont seem to have a lot of that at present.Think only Tai,Pawlicki and Jacob are favourites to start next season if you ask most Wolves fans. And yes,it will be daylight robbery if someone steals the title away from Lynn now. -

Hope the supporters are patient. Noticeable the crowd was well down last monday against Swindon, compared to the previous week against Lynn. There were mutterings where i stand, some had had enough already for this season. Do think the attendance will be OK this monday though, but only because its a local derby with Coventry. -
Says in todays Expess & Star "Birmingham have been removed from the Elite league and its records expunged for this season. But it is hoped speedway can continue at Perry Barr this season in some format" Lets hope that even a few open meetings then can carry on the continuity, untill perhaps something is sorted out in the close season.Suppose that decision is now in the hands of the landlords. How this affect the league table?.

Pirates V Wolves - Weds 2nd July
Tommy Sweetman replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Think this could be Proctor,s last season at Wolves,we know he had a bad smash at Brum last season, but surely no longer an excuse for his form.Steady at home, but awful away from Monmore. -
Lets not forget, if the rumours are true. Alan Phillips has put nearly half a million pounds into this venture since he took over the licence. Think its hard to blame him for all the shortcomings that have taken place in his time there, you have to feel for the bloke, hes done his best to make a success of what was always going to be an uphill task. Tony Mole has no doubt seen the figures from attendances at Perry Barr, and just dosent think its a worthwhile proposition. Absolutely heartbroken for the Brummie fans if this is the end.

British Final 2014
Tommy Sweetman replied to Julie Browne's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Oh,right so i can see why you made those comments using Bilston as a template for Wolverhampton. Wolvo dosent claim to be a tourist destination, its an industrial city that has its roots in engineering. But,Screm asked the question about getting from hotel to track, and there was no useful info you gave about that with your vile remark. -

Screm, the Travelodge in W,ton is fine.Could be very noisy though, situated at the junction of Waterloo Rd and the ring road. My niece has stayed there, and said it was good. It is a fair distance to the nearest bus stop for the Green, about 3/4 mile to the bus station.Think its the No 74(but could be wrong). ps,the Travelodge is about 100 yards from the Golden Palace(Molineux)pity its out of season for you to make a visit -

Yep,the city centre is a bit rubbish, but some of the suburbs are fine(Tettenhall,Wightwick,Lower Penn ect)and there are many hotels in these outer areas. Theres loads of them around the Tettenhall Rd area, and not to expensive. But it would be around three miles from the track. -

.How many times have you visited, two miles to the west of the city and virtually all greenbelt(bar Telford)untill you reach the coast. Where exactly do you live. Then i might even comment futher. -
Might just wonder now if Alan Phillips has had enough. When he comes out with statements "If the crowd dont come in for the debut of Bartosz, then i will have to ask what more we can do"and then going on, if the crowd dont respond then he will question his own commitment to the club. Dont think its the smartest thing to say,by holding a gun to the head of the paying public. Consequently of course, the meeting he was referring to was rained off,so we will have to wait and see for his response after the televised meeting with Swindon.

Worrying news for Brum fans this morning regarding Zmarzlik.A report by Nigel Pearson in the B,ham Mail states that his future is now in the balance following a report from Poland that the rider will only be allowed to ride on a match by match basis. Not the fault of the rider, but it seems to throw in doubt his immediate future with Birmingham. Never rains but it pours for the Brummies.

Wolves V Eastbourne 26/05/14
Tommy Sweetman replied to Tommy Sweetman's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thought the track was as good for the first half of the meeting as of any at Monmore this season. With the expected deluge forcast all day,the surface wasnt overwatered prior to the meeting like its normally done. Hope the track staff have learnt their lesson from last night, and just keep the water to a minimum. -
Hard to see this meeting going ahead, rain forcast to hit the Midlands at mid-day,and lasting untill the early hours of tuesday.

Wolves V Swindon... 12th May
Tommy Sweetman replied to dump that clutch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Possibly not,but Woffy says he now feels a lot happier after weekends trip to Poland. Could end up another 45-45 draw. -
Brummies V Wolverhampton 7th May
Tommy Sweetman replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Not in anyway sticking up for Poole, but really if Ward was riding like Woffy is at the moment, there would probably be about three pages of "average manipulation". Just dont know whats going on with him at the moment, his bikes look nowhere quick enough. But if that is the problem, afraid thats no excuse now. Morris,is another disapointment for me.Thought he would be one of the best draft riders, but after seeing a lot of the other lads,Ashley seems to be lacking behind in track craft. We have now rode probably the two worst teams at their home tracks, and have looked far from convincing in both. Just cant see where the next away win is comming from tbh. -

Tommy Sweetman replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The facts are,and all Wolves fans know it,that if someone like Proctor is still delivering the same scores in august with what hes done in april, there,s no doubt he will still be in the side.OK he has had a bad injury, but im just using his scores as an example to what will happen. Lets hope the words from Dave Parry last season about under achieving and complacency, arent lost on both riders and staff. -
Brummies V Wolverhampton 7th May
Tommy Sweetman replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes,and Poole came from a lot further back last year to win the league, but the difference is they have a bloke in charge who has a winning mentality(even though hes hated for it),and we have one(sorry two)who are just prepared to toddle along showing little ambition(bar Pawlicki) or drive to winning titles. -
Wolves V Poole Ela 5/5/14
Tommy Sweetman replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thought that was a bit naff tbh, leave all the wheelies to the likes of Lewis Bridger please Tai.(Although dont know what Bridger has achieved to warrant doing wheelies).
