  1. According to Nigel Pearson, the Sky five year contract actually finished at the end of October.
  2. And losing millions by the ammount of football subscribers they are gonna lose. Just wonder what percentage of viewers have Sky just for the footie,it has to be more than all the other sports combined.
  3. Thanks for that update mate, very interesting.
  4. Wonder how long before the text sevice disappears from our sceens for good,Sky ended theirs on wednesday,ITV finished last year, and now only BBC remain.Bit sad really, always chequed on there for the latest news and results. Sorry to see it go off Sky,just wondered how much it costs to provide this service. Most will say go online, but just not the same, especially when there,s not a lot on the box,and you like to keep updated.
  5. Probably Vic Wakeling, think he retired about four years ago.
  6. Have to say probably the only reason ive kept Sky Sports is for the cricket. You have to applaud Sky for their coverage, its on all year round(currently watching India/Aus)and they spare no expense about the way it is shown. Would miss speedway if its not on next season, but still go to the meetings at Monmore, and then watch the recordings when i come back. The BSPA will miss Sky,more than Sky will miss speedway. The promotors have had plenty of time to get get their house in order, but have fell woefully short, and fear now they will pay the cost.
  7. Not only footie and F1 where Sky are spending thier money, secured a 4 year deal with the ECB to show domestic cricket and home Tests for £300 million.Add on money to the ICC for overseas matches, and you can see which sports mean more to Sky. And speedway certainly aint one of them.
  8. Pretty sure Pearson,s parting shot last season was "See you all again next year ",absolutly no mention of that last night.
  9. Looking at the crowd last week at Poole,at least half the crowd seemed to be of a older generation.Or was it just because it was Poole, which is a bit like Hastings and Eastbourne and has a higher proportion of older people.Bet Matt Ford,s not complaining though.
  10. Well done young un.---- And a hearty top of the world to you.Fantastic effort for one so young and who will be greatly missed at Monmore if all the doom mongers are right, and we lose all our top riders. Now Britain has a World Champion,we just cant let it happen.Lets just hope Sky take this on board and help stop the decline in domestic speedway in this country.
  11. And if the horse hadnt stopped to do a $hite, hed have won the race.
  12. Wonder when we find out if Sky is going to broadcast speedway in 2014.I wont bother with the Sports package if not.Watch the ashes in Aus,then kick Sports 1,2,3.into touch. Think i will then take out the Entertainment Extra(which includes Eurosport and Sky Sports News)pack, and save myself £26 p/month. Been with Sky since it came out in 1989,so,if no speedway,no extra revenue from me.Make do with the Gp,s on Eurosport.
  13. Yes in Austria,Salty.Makes sence really,The football club is owned by Red Bull, and they also have its research centre there. With Emil being heavely sponsered by Red Bull, the most stringent tests available will be carried out,to see the full extent of his injuries.
  14. Think you may find he has gone to see the medical staff at FC Red Bull at Salzburg.
  15. Listening to Darcy last night, dont think he will be following Tai,s fittness, diet, training methods any time soon.
  16. Winning the Ashes 5-0 at home,5-0 down under. But ill settle for Tai taking the title, and becoming a great Brit.
  17. Well done fella, what a heroic performance that was. But ?????????????? Why has he got such a lack of sponsorship on his race suit(and cap)which he pointed to,bythe way, when every other rider has them plastered everywhere. You would have thought, given his perfomances so far in the GPs this year, there would have been plenty of takers. Cant be such a lack of money, with some of the better off British firms, that they cant find a few bob to help one of our own.
  18. Any news on Tai yet? Hope he sits out this GP,just to early to take another knock on that shoulder.
  19. Very harsh on Furious Fred,Tai at fault, just unlucky to hit the same rut that riders all night were experiencing
  20. Well done fella, you did us all proud(well nearly all).
  21. Woffy always calls it England, until hes corrected. Oh,and before anyone makes remarks. He was born in Scunthorpe,England.
  22. Thanks Kev. Seems only right i suppose, spend a penny save a pound. Monmore is so much nearer, for most of the Heathen fans.
  23. What were the crowds,in comparison Kev. Monmore and Perry Barr.
  24. Any truth,Heathens to ride all their matches at Monmore next season(sorry if theres already been a thread).
  25. Just glad to see a fellow Wolfie, with some of that bulldog spirit.
