  1. All comes down to finance. With the crowds Wolves have been getting, gone are the days when 16 top notch riders are paid big bucks for a nights entertainment. The Olympique used to be the highlight of the year for me(along with the Champion of Champions)and the place was rocking. As well as the locals,Cradley would probably bring along 1500 to support their heat-leaders. Plus the fact,in the early days of the competion the terraces where on both sides of the stadium, giving a much better atmosphere. It says something, when now the highlight of the meeting is the firework display.
  2. Said on the Wolves web-site there was a large crowd. Dont know what they would put as a large crowd, but since mid July the crowds have been abysmal. How much was it to get in last night ?.
  3. Whats the admission price ?. A tenner should be about right,to watch the likes of...........Klindt,Bates,Sedgmen,Summers,Clegg,Jacobsen. Or will it be higher than the normal £18 for a league meeting.
  4. Didnt Tai state he would only ride for a club thats got Pete Adams as team manager. With all this Poole stuff going on,perhaps hes taking Adams to the south coast to replace Middlo.
  5. Trouble is Wolfie,Tai doesnt think so. Hes going on the recepetion he got when he won the British final, and said when interviewed "Look at these amazing fans, they are just awesome" Not sure who would win if you took a straw poll amongst Wolves fans,Woffy back or Pawlicki back.
  6. Think they have become exasperated with Dudley council in trying to find them a site(or not trying to find them a site, is more to the point). No doubt if it had been houses or industrial units, their outlook would have been quite different. Really sorry if this is the end for the Heathens, they have given us so much pleasure(and heartache if youre a Wolves fan)over the past years. Hope you can find someone to carry on the fight, and keep this wonderful old club alive.
  7. In the Mail on Sunday he was refered to as Scunthorpe,s Tai Woffinden. Adams was there last night.Sitting in the corner(as someone else described him)as looking like the Churchilian dog. Not sure if he was there last week though.
  8. Wish he could pass on some of that winning mentality to CVS. Not sure about that jacket though.
  9. Yep he did(perhaps it would have been better to have been given last pick instead of first ,in that way he wouldnt have had a choice in the matter). But to be fair to Josh,he did ride with a lot more confidence in the last month of the season. If as expected, riders like Garrity have to move into the team,s top 5,would that mean 2 tier riders like Bates would have to move up to replace them. Obviously, depending on what riders get moved into the first tier, not sure id take Josh as first choice.
  10. Well it could be weve got our first rider lined up. According to CVS "Pete Adams has been very impressed with Max Clegg,s attitude and professionalism,so we have given him a chance to put down a marker for 2016 by putting him in the Olympique ". I was hoping Zach Wajtknecht would have been given a run-out in the event, sure to be plenty of clubs interested in him.
  11. Yes Lefty, remember the first thing that over the tannoy "Friday night is speedway night". Couldnt beat it when we had Cradley at Monmore on Friday, followed by the return at Dudley Wood next night. Atmosphere was crazy.Once spent two hours in Old Hill nick for being to boisterous. * Sorry not on Wolves thread, but just a follow-up to the one by Lefty.
  12. Wish Wolves would take that option.Wednesday no dogs(but CVS dosent want to upset Brum/Cradley). Friday, dogs in the afternoon,(same as we already have on a Monday). Pretty sure we might get a couple of decent heat-leaders if we ride on those nights.
  13. Yep. Seems Belle Vue are switching to Wednesday, and at Wolves riders like Tai and Pawlicki not interested.
  14. It wont be any easier getting top riders to ride on a Monday either.
  15. Whatever the format next year, its an out and out number one that we need.No idea where we are gonna find one from. Joel Andersson has a lot of potential for a kid of eighteen, but hes only going to be a second string, and we already have plenty of choices in that department. As BWitcher says,Doyle would be the ideal candidate. But if he leaves Leicester, can only see him going back to Swindon.
  16. The Bees would probably have been better using Thorsell rather than Fred. If he was considered for the second leg, seem to remember he has won a few races at Poole. R/R still the best option, but not if Garrity is ruled out.
  17. Some may argue hes the second best,(after a certain Russian).
  18. Churchill wont like being compared to Adams.Thats your no-claims bonus down the swanee.
  19. BWticher i know youve mentioned Doyle before, but what are the benifits for him riding at Wolves. He seems happy and settled at Leicester, and then would he be willing to ride for a Monday track. Like a few others who ride in Poland and Sweden,is it to much of a distraction.
  20. Spot on Wolfsbane.Says it all really. Looks like we are stuck with Mondays.
  21. Signing a three year deal means nowt if the present attendance figures continue to tumble. Id say there were only a few hundred Wolves fans at the last three meetings.Just cant see how those sort of figures are sustainable. The only answer of course to get better crowds,is to give us a better side.Despite what the management says every close season,it never happens. Fresh blood is needed both on and off the track. But dont hold your breath its gonna happen.
  22. What is wrong with Pete Adams More to the point what is right with Pete Adams. As team manager the buck stops with him.He must have had the major say in how this side was put together at the start of the season. Virtually every neutral on this forum at the start of the season picked Wolves to be in the bottom two(and how right they were). Some of his tactical decisions in the last two seasons have been shambolic, and his influence in the pits seemed to have be non-existent. Wether being in Tai,s corner at the GP,s has had a detrimental effect to whats happened at Monmore, one can only speculate, but i dont think it has helped. Of course CVS has to shoulder part of the blame, after all,it is he who pulls most of the purse strings. One things for sure, another season like this, and theres only gonna be one outcome.Last one out turn off the lights.
  23. So it sounds as if wednesday night meetings are out altogther. So if we are forced to stick with mondays, then you can rule out Tai and Pawlicki returning in the near future, and any other decent riders who do Poland on sundays and Sweden on tuesdays. If we stick with the same format next year, god knows where our next heat leaders are coming from.
