  1. He doesn't stand among the plebs, just up there to keep an eye on them and report back.
  2. is this going to be a regular thing changing your name, it's a hobby for Robin. For you, to think up a new name will overload your brain
  3. Calm down, I have some good tablets for you if you want to chill out, if not try this :drink:
  4. Talk about trying to stir up trouble where it does not exist, you should be pleased Berwick have a strong supporters club who care passionately about speedway inBerwick.
  5. Hang on Shads, I like my friends from Cumbria, don't tar us all withy the same brush
  6. Concidering how many speedway fans I meet, not only at Shielfield or in the B&G but the many that come in to the shop from all walks of life. Not once have I heard they no longer come because someone is having a moan, but have left for many reasons, value for money, lack of entertainment etc. etc etc.the reasons have often been discussed on here. The main moan from visiting fans is the gate& go nature of the track. Absolutely agree with you, 99% of people complaining do it from concern for the welfare of the club not malice. Not one of us want to see the promotion walk away, we love our speedway.
  7. Think you will find I always said, he listened to what would be of benefit to him and ignored the rest. You have a tendency to interprit something that you THINK I said rather than what was actually said, perhaps a job at the Daily Mail would be right up your street.
  8. I don't know either, but I suppose do what PW used to do. listen to everything, take on board the genuine complaints and ditch the rest, most of all take all comments on the chin, I genuinely believe they are aired with concern rather than malice. On the track. week 1 was very slick and led to very poor racing, week 2 even slicker even worse racing, week 3 much improved and commended by all of the riders, week 4 rained off finally last week very poor preperation. For now look at what was prepared against Scunthorpe and replicate.
  9. Sadly, like yourself, I see very few new faces, and week by week am seeing less of the old die hards. I don't accept for one second that they no longer come because of a few people who are having a moan, that is a naivety to the exteme. I don't know why they have stopped coming, but probably not getting value for money, not being entertained enough, who knows, but certainly not because a few have a moan,
  10. When you are criticised, you have to take it on board, they are your paying customers. You may not like what they are very vocal about, but it is an opinion from some of the most loyal fans in Berwick Speedway, so unless you are on a suicide mission, best listen and try and put it right. I am sure if they can see someone is listening and tryingto put things right, they will quickly come round.
  11. If It was taken over on a business footing, then no. If it were to be taken over with someone wearing their heart on their sleeve, then yes. If you were buying a business like this you would only purchase the value of it's assets, as it is unlikely to have any 'Good Will' value.
  12. Just a point on planning Scott, there is a 5 year window before planning permission is required, so if the promotion walked away from Berwick Speedway, it can be restarted within 5 years without planning process. On a second point, it is more than apparent there is unease with the customer base at Berwick Speedway, it shows in the ever decreasing attendance and also from a very vocal group of fans, who are willing to air their views. If I had not satisfied any of my customers, I would much rather they told me, than never to return. Every one of those very vocal fans bleed Berwick Bandits Speedway, not one single person among them want speedway to fold, so it is unfair to deny a paying customer of their opinion, whether it is welcomed or not. Third point on the track, as suggested in the past ask the riders what they thought, so I did, I asked 6 of them for obvious reasons could not ask the 7th. I got an official answer from some and an honest answer from the others, my conclusion is the majority of the riders were not happy with the track preperation. One rider said we told them what we wanted and they prepared it in that way but it did not come out the way it should have done.
  13. Cloudy but dry Julie, odd light shower, forecast is OK until 21.00. See you tonight.
  14. This moisture content, is that what I get in the B&G on a saturday night
  15. Your forecast is ,much better than it was 2 days ago, looks like rain will now clear in the morning.
  16. Don't know, but as of last Sat there were 168 members in The Berwick Bandits Supporters Club.
  17. Simple terms, equipment, believe it will be sorted this week, hopefully.
  18. Well correct or not. They raised a lot of money on Saturday in the B&G, where they presented 2 riders with a cheque for £300 each, the other riders will recieve their cheques in due course. It is good for the club even it does not go directly to the club, there is no club without the riders, and if they are assisted to improve their performance, then that is a good thing for the club as it will help to increase the attendance which ultimately helps the club. I know certain people will hit back with if there is no club, there is nowhere for the riders to ply their trade. For me it is all of these things, there is no club without riders, if there was not a club then riders could not ride, but the most imprtant factor is if the fans, if dont pay at the turnstyles then there is neither. Not one of these is more important than the other. Again a very special thank you to the Berwick Bandits Supporters Club, for working so hard, less dedicated people would walk away, they havn't and continue to work hard for the ultimare success of Berwick Bandits.
