Plymouth V Rye House Friday 5th July

Eddie Kennett after his spell @ Berwick is over & has a real pl average -
I agree the track was a little dry & was slicker than normal but the the reasons for this are as follow,at the last meeting lemon & to a lesser extent gathercole said the track was to deep/had to much material on it so some of the shale was removed at there request hence how the track rode last night.(it did detract from the normal high standard if racing)As the meeting was running the rain from Cornwall was getting closer & closer so watering the track was going to be very risky & finally with regards to grading before the running race isn't a problem & they don't have any adverse effect on the surface.
-
Hence there wasn't any holes or ruts just alot of heavy material on the track early doors do to the amount of water put down due to the weather & trying to control the dust of which there wasn't any all evening.if there were holes in the track they would of still been there @ the end of the night ! ! ! !
-
the track last night was heavy early on due to the amount of water required to combat any dust issues that may of arisen do to the brilliant weather, mbj requested the track to be left as he was enjoying him self with the amount of material in the track but in general the rest of the riders were struggling to deal with the grip. There wasnt any ruts or holes in the track as some have said the track was just berming up do to the amount of material the water had created(riders moan when the track is slick but with todays bikes & style of racing they struggle wen they do come across a grippy track)no riders had an issue with the amount of water put down & I'm sure the crowd were happy not to be covered in dust. The track was difficult early on but that worked in favour of the devils as that's when they built up there advantage, there has been meetings with alot better racing @ Plymouth but more often than not the away team have gone on to win the meeting so maybe you have to give up a little bit of entertainment to gain some results,Glasgow really came into the meeting after the track started to slicken off so that speaks for its self. Before any starts spouting anymore rubbish as well I worked on the track before & during the meeting & also rode in the second half so I'd say I can see it from both sides of things & give a fair veiw/insight.

Ben or Tom are not anywhere near pl standard yet & I mean that with no disrespect as the league is getting harder & harder year by year,it will be an Scotland based Aussie that gets the spot.
-
Just a guess but is 'oldsparky' Monsieur Mark Webster ?
-
I think it might be another Aussie just dropped by Glasgow!

I have been told that plymouth tried to enter the nl @ the last minute & got told they wer to late, with the lack of nl teams wouldnt most teams rather have 2 more fixtures ! ?
-
Plymouth will race again in the prem next season, agreed the sba is not great for the the paying public [excluding the racing which has been top class] but from a riders side of things,The money they get aint great but at least they do get it[with the crowds the pay scale could be put up].The track these days is fine even if a little slick most of the time but that is at the home riders request. The changing rooms are of an ok standard.A bit of investment in the site and more/better promoting in the area theres no reason why the crowd cant be added to even though its one of the biggest of all 3 leagues already.

THe same little bird that told me plymouth had 2 stay in the NL has now told me that they are in the PL now replacing Lynn. One side note was that plymouth didnt get in the PL last week because of travel & poor buisness plan, the travel side of that is just a joke, but they did get the offer 2 go EL last week,it was ok 2 travel 2 Devon in tha league though ! ! !
-
The Devils will be in the NL again next season so a little birdy told me !

If the current set up at weymouth was to go bankrupt or just close would it not be possible for someone just to reopen it as a new set up as they would have none of the debt as there not anything to do with the past ! ?

Harry is the best brit,he puts bums on seats & unless something goes wrong big time he will be in the top 8 after tonights G.P.If you dont like the facts tough & stop knocking the best we got. x x -
The track is not sorting its self out,its down 2 alot of hard work from Nigel Prynne & Ashley Taylor. They work with very very basic tools & very poor material so credit where credits do .
-
1,Let the local track staff do there own stuff, surely what they do week in week out is PART of why the gp"s are at these venues.2,If they want to keep the banners clean have 2/3 of each and change them during the meeting.3,Cardiff"s track is poor because the powers that be are to tight to pay for the top shale/clay from the derby area and use the local rubbish like they had at newport untill this season FACT.(what about rider safety when the track looks like land mines have gone off all over the place) 4,Give OLIVE OLSEN some credit the danish one off track is the best of the bunch but guess where the material comes from, wait for it,wait for it DERBY,They re-use it each year. Its ment to be speedway racing so give the riders and the public what they want A RACE TRACK,SIMPLEZ !!!!!!!!!!
