  1. I agree - we definitely don't have the same structure Denmark/Sweden/Poland do, but you have to admit with the efforts of Phil Morris and co have put in this year, we are in a better position than previous years. What I'm trying to say is that GB won't need Harris in a few years time. You seem rather pessimistic today Mr. Rising? that's normally my forte!
  2. I agree, they won't, but by chucking our youngsters in at the deep end it in theory should spur them on. I remember a few years ago denmark had a test match against team GB at wolverhampton and they tracked a VERY young side, of which most of them are now heat leaders in the world's top leagues. This is a different matter however, we know Harris has grit and determination, but if he's prepared to spit his dummy out because he can't get yet another wild card pick then let him! Give the youngsters a chance, even if we do get an absolute pasting for the next 2 or 3 years.
  3. If he wants to turn his back on the world cup because the powers that be don't think he's good enough for the GP's then screw him. We can give his WC place to a youngster and bring on some more talent. We'll do awfully for a couple of years granted but in the long run we'll be better off
  4. Whilst this may be good news, we all know what happens when fathers of ex-riders take over their local track (newport..) lets hope this time things work out for the better.
  5. The fact that in the speedway star suggests that he's after his 5th wild card pick should explain it all really. I love Harris to bits, on his day he's an absolute pleasure to watch, but at the end of the day he's just not good enough to be classed as a true world class rider. At least he'll be in the record books for the rider with the most amount of wild card picks? haha
  6. I was on that training school! Pissed it down all day. Great bloke, chuffed to have met him.
  7. I would imagine it's probably complete tosh, but I heard from somewhere that Jason is actually a millionaire? I was told though that this wasn't directly as a result of speedway racing - I think it would be nigh on impossible for a rider to amass that much. Even if you're Gollob...
  8. I think one thing rings true about this - we're set for a cracking GP series next year. Lots of potential new riders of which all are capable of winning GPs. Bring it on!
  9. Despite the world champion being crowned in Torun, I hope Jason gets a heroes farewell in front of what will be a huge crowd.
  10. Call me pessimistic but this looks like damage limitation for me
  11. And once again, the public and his fans don't need to know this really. You're tarnishing his image on a message board.
  12. and we need to know this why? This isn't for the public to know. Hans will have fans that don't need to know his personal problems
  13. This was posted on the workington comets twitter page last night: Its such a shame to see clubs resorting to this - we all remember Newport doing this last year
  14. Really? Considering Tai has recently been promoted to the number one position at wolverhampton and has been on a consistent 8+ average all year, I beg to differ. MJJ is on 6.58. I honestly fail to see your logic.
  15. I used to enjoy having 2 wild cards per GP. I'd like to see that come back.
  16. Spot on - NKI must be gutted, but odds on he'll qualify outright for next year anyway
