  1. And most of this is organised by Steve Brandon - it is essentially his job to keep everything on schedule.
  2. It would be interesting to know if this would have been called off if every rider was present and ready to ride.
  3. Chris Holder Tweeted a picture of the track and it looked pretty good - this was a pathetic excuse for BV to call a meeting off when they knew they were going to get trounced. Who's saying that they just got the hose out and dropped a puddle or 2 on the track? I wouldn't put it past them.
  4. as soon as some odds come online I'll be getting involved. I'm feeling a 4 point away win myself
  5. Are we talking about the chap with the grey chin beard, or the chap with dreadlocks and more metal in his face than what's on the bikes?
  6. The final 3 rounds will suit Gollob's style, so if he is to have a dip in form he needs to have it around Cardiff really. He could afford to have a bad round there and possibly at Copenhagen, but judging by the style of tracks he could come on strong in the final 3 rounds to pinch the title. I'd much rather another young'un wins as this keeps things interesting but either way, we're still in for a top season of GP racing
  7. It is in a nutshell exactly the same, it's just not watered down with fancy intros/studios/etc. Much more to the point. I like.
  8. Backless, we don't tend to agree at the best of times, but you are right. The Eurosport coverage is to the point and we get to see what we want to see, racing. None of this back and forth to a studio where we get more of the same opinions from Keith 'This isn't road racing' Huwen and Sam Ermolenko and friends. The Eurosport coverage (even though it's essentially just a feed + commentators) is no frills, just racing and the occasional interview (which is always, beautifully given by Steve Brandon)
  9. Not really. If you've got a problem with what you see then contact them? If you have then there's not much else to do.
  10. Then cancel your subscription? Pretty simple if you ask me.
  11. I do like Eurosport doing the GPs. To the point and no BS. The only thing I have to complain about is the chap who does a brief rundown of the show so far just after the ADVERT breaks. Here is a race... Iversen is in the lead... licks the fence... on the way...through STOP PAUSING SO MUCH MAN
  12. And he was rubbish, unprofessional and WOULD NOT STOP comparing speedway to road racing. It's been 10 years Keith, we get the picture.
  13. I see what you mean when you told me to read the Star about Kelvin's opinions on tyres. I clearly wasn't thinking outside the box! A great read. Looking forward to more of this!
  14. I couldn't agree more dude - this is just common in city centres nowadays and is EXACTLY what people are like from the ages of 17-25 and that's what a lot of people on these forums just don't see. That's life.
  15. Some of you fail to realise that this is what the youth of today are like. I'm 25 and I went out last weekend and got drunk out of my tree on friday, saturday and sunday, despite having work monday morning. Are you all going to have a go at me because of it? Just because Darcy is in the public eye doesn't mean he is denied his rights to live his life how he wants to. He's just a target for the media, given his track record (no pun intended)
  16. Well if I'm honest, 'folk' won't make the blindest bit of difference posting what they think of Darcy's downtime performances, so what is the point. If he's going to continue enjoying his youth like everyone should, then he's going to do that.
  17. Just let the lad enjoy his youth whilst he can. Role model or not. Michael Lee was just as bad if not worse and he was in the UK national press all the time. This happens. Just get off his case and enjoy watching him ride whilst he's still in his prime.
  18. Steve Johnston actually did a section very similar to this on the SGP website before Auckland last year, it was great but too short in my opinion. With regards to the tyres though, there isn't much to discuss - the tyres are standard and all they do is inflate or deflate them. They could incorporate something about wheel base though I guess.
  19. Really enjoyed the camera angle yesterday that they've got mounted on a radio controlled helicopter - I saw that they were testing one in a photo a few weeks back. There was a couple of hiccups where the riders were very close to being out of shot, but all in all, it was refreshing and nice to see them trying new stuff yet again. Jan Staechmann and Chris Louis make a great team together on the inside track section too.
  20. I agree to a certain extent. Somerset is pretty much without fault and produces amazing racing, yet Wolverhampton is an egg shape and that also produces some cracking races. Kings Lynn (as we've seen) produces some breathtaking races and that is also a near perfect track. I can see Kelvin's point, but at the same time it is flawed. A perfect track promotes confidence whereby a flawed track would suit a 'thinker'... 2 sides of the coin!
  21. Looks awesome but that track looks like it could do with some water
  22. Very nice of you to comment on something you've not been watching, I'm sure your opinion will go a long way right now. My opinion of the new additions to the Sky production are that they are superb and definitely a step in the right direction. Nice to see they're thinking of new things to do now they don't have the GPs any more.
  23. Before I start, this is information taken from http://www.point-two.co.uk/ - they provide the jackets that we've seen Jason Bunyan and Chris Harris using on TV. 1) They range from £200-£600 in price 2) They are set off when the lanyard which is attached to the bike and rider is pulled off - providing the rider does not leave the vicinity of the bike in an accident, the bag won't go off (for instance if he just slid off and stayed on the bike, it would stay deflated) 3) not unless the lanyard is pulled 4) you detach the air canister and install a new one (I believe they just screw on) 5) No. They are worn by the rider under the suit, but special compensation has to be made to the suit so that it can stretch and not tear around the shoulders. 6) They do need to be serviced by point-two either once a year, or after six small impacts or one heavy impact. They come with a lifetime warranty. Hopefully this helps!
