i think the fans/followers are just holding onto a glimmer of hope. we all know it will not return . the promotion are just buying time until a buyer can be found or the assets of the club sold on . why give something away , when you can get a few quid for it ?there is 20 months on the countdown clock , but time waits for no man !

i think they are goint to use last seasons press and practice pics in order to cut down expenditure to the club .

i was talking to the lady who does the catering @ the reds and the football club asked her if she was willing/able to carry on the catering @ Derwent park come May .

or clearing out all the speedway fixtures and fittings ready for the big sale ! reds move into Derwent park sometime in May as i was informed yesterday .

i can see all those away supporters turning up for a meeting @ brough park or whatever its called now even when their team is not racing there ! todays away supporters only go to visit away tracks when their team are riding . but on the very odd occasion i did go to Redcar to see darcy ward @ redcar . but thats a track you can and do race on . i think its the feedback from other supporters/fans that have come up with the same conclusion that the track requires special powers to get the best out of it . workington has dirt on it , . smooth-ish on the inside and grippy on the outside , armadillo ! that Lyle Howarth sounds a good prospect tho .

i dont think Newcastle is a fav track for any workington fans . . now Redcar is a totally different animal ..

its heartbreaking reading that from the local paper . everything that could have been done to save the club , has been done , you can now see just why every young gun thats decent on a bike wants to ride speedway . free vans and stuff are making this glorious sport extinct . the sport cant and will not survive much longer and thats not just in workington .. so who is to blame ? the fans that dont come anymore , the entrance fee too high , or has boredom really set into our great sport . the new ish thumb brigade get their excitement from moving buttons about now and sucking fizzy drink that gives you wings ! i , like many others will lose our Saturday speedway fix and if the costs keep going up and up . we will never see speedway at workington again . but if its not to be , then so be it . but we said goodbye in the best way . . anyone that has promoted or had dealings with running a speedway circus deserves more than . a pat on the back . it shows how the sport is being run by the goonies when they lose the shield trophy and cant/wont even pay for a few medals for the riders competing in the finals . remember , just support your team till the bitter end, because one day it might be . (i have not spell checked or read this , so there will be mistakes )

BWD didnt and charles wright didnt . btw . workington only have one rider under 5.50 and he is almost certain to be northern bound . on a 2.00 ave . so tough luck as they say . that boat is starting to ship water already
