Boleyn Ground does (did) it for me all the time . just one thing tho , Northside only has permission to do training meetings , but on any day ! just adding ... when in Whitehaven i noticed lots of workers returning into the new buildings with Greggs, Costa and many other forms of human fuel . i would say it has helped the local economy out a wee bit , but its only money they would have spent in the BNFL . cafes ..

maybe during the summer months riders will be able to wear 3/4 length shorts like the mechs do when they are racing .. naa , thought not . basic health n safety mate . still howarth is still learning the trade . one day he will need his middle finger to wipe his 4r$e and it wont be there .his finger , not his 4r$e ! what an absolute doosh bag .

sure i mentioned this a while back on this thread . its called a licence , where both parties can pull the plug at any given time if the comets were on a lease , the council or the rugby club would have to buy the lease from laura .think its called a sub lease , but then again , town dont own the ground , the council do not having a legal lease has made it so easy for the rugby club and the council to pull the plug on the speedway .

good luck to the two comets that could not start the 2019 season with worky .josh (chunk) Mcdonald and tero with give brum some bite . patience is what is needed for these two guys to bed in .

so where in Derwent park will they be situated , car park , back of tescoes , because they cant put them in the town (rugby ) building or are they building new ones @ DP or portacabins on the new k100,000 pitch .? the new offices are to be @ the new stadium?

and when the riders who have already qualified for the GP season have to qualify the day before the GP for gate start positions . just pull the draw out of a velvet bag with hand warm balls the day/week before . save shaed loads of money , sheds loads of time . no mechs having to strip down bikes for proper racing the following day . no riders passing the cost onto the paying public and no huge stadium rent to pay . speedway is struggling big time ATM . so lets try and save it f.f.s.

my take on the venue not being available is (as i have mentioned before ) that the speedway club would have been in derwent park on a licence and not a lease . with a lease you are tied to renting the ground on a regular period , say 12 months or 12 yrs etc . even if you dont use the stadium , you still have to pay the rental charges etc . go in on a licence and either you or the landlord can can terminate your use of the ground . so i see it as either, A.. the speedway did not take up the chance to get the rental stuff in place , B the speedway exercised their right to pull out at any time , or C the rugby club had wanted them out so the reds could move in . and get their playing surface nice and cosy ready for the new season . but as most of the ripping up of the track was done after the speedway folded , it will be hard to prove otherwise !
