Is This The Way Forward For British Speedway?
jenga replied to Electric6's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
berwick and workington could end up as a start of the breakaway group and others may join them. its not going to work, some poor teams there as well. its been watered down again.good effort tho. -

dont forget the fans open forum to be held at the waverley hotel workington on friday 4th september where you can put ideas to the management on how to run and make the club more appealing to non fans and try to get outsiders interested. see unofficial comets site for details.

Speedway Star Interview With Alex Harkess
jenga replied to lastword's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
workington speedway are holding an open fans forum friday 4th september at the waverley hotel to discuss how workington can be run and any ideas can be put to the management who will be in attendance. if a formula is discovered , we will pas it on. if the bspa cant sort it out. what chance have the fans got of turning it around ? my ideas are ... really low entrance fee.. the price now has reached its ultimate price that the fans want to pay. get loads of youngsters in the grounds. they are the future. old fans die off and are unable to travel to their clubs. one pound and some times more for a race . but not much in between races . time to freeze riders demands... when was the last time YOU had a wage increase from your small employer ? conservatives are looking at 9 pounds an hour in the future. where is that money going to come from ? time to source new suppliers of speedway bikes, parts etc. maybe the bspa/scb could provide/make racin suits etc. at the end of the day, ITS JUST TOO BLEEDING EXPENSIVE TO PARTAKE IN AND SUPPORT.. -
nothing else will do, other than a former world champion. pantser wont accept any thing less.. nikki barrett, he is a former world champ. !

you need to hang around after the meetings to get the proper craic and not the grandstand rubbish from the upper class who know it all.

not a good post from you tj. home riders missing.

maybe robert was trying to gain extra money to make up for the number of lost meeting for the panthers and the stars. with missing meetings for both clubs through injury etc. not getting a true average in the pl before august is a shocking thing to happen. is robert still injured or have k/lynn aken a leaf out of peterboroughs book ?
-
thanks dan. its just the way it falls i suppose....... crucial meeting for worky if they get a couple of good results at berwick and redcar away.. but 38 is our magic number at the moment.

sun break ! beats watergate tho dont it.. come on the funny talkers from zummerzet. ooh arrr ... tractor..

maybe it just wasn't right for Alex and his team. (riders missing or fixture clashes with the lite league. maybe Workington were on holiday as they have been most of this season or riders missing. its not good for the sport in general, too many G A P S in the fixtures.spoke to a supporter today and he said he was starting to get out of the habit of going.

i do BELIEVE it was done to Workington a few years ago. Edinburgh fail to organise a date for a pl meeting before the cut off date . i think Workington COULD have secured a spot in the play off,s ( i think) that's what scarra means by not being very helpful . i just wonder if Workington need 3 points to qualify for the top 6 play off position. will Edinburgh lay down, thus by letting worky win the meeting, eliminating possibly Plymouth and Ipswich and allow the softer option of Workington to sneak into position 6 and then choose worky in the play offs knowing they will easily beat us.. or am i thinking too much ?

i would go for Saturday the 12th sept
