Elite League Draft - 2014 - Success ?
castrolargh replied to markyb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It would be even better if the PL were to adopt the fast track system as well to form a more natural progression from national league, through the premier league and then onto elite. Riders such as kerr, garrity, blackbird, newman as no7, wiith the likes of auty , roynon as no6 -
Hope we see a reshuffle of the stars with neils injured(get well soon puk, hope to see you in stars colours next season!), Kenny at no1 and possibly rooboy at5?

Mads has had some good results at cov, poole and Swindon(all potential play off opponents), so hopefully will dust off his 2013 kevlars and come and lend a hand

Poole Pirates Vs Kings Lynn Stars 23/7/2014
castrolargh replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Nothing is going to change the result, a couple of decisions were contentious but have added a bit of interest to the after meeting debate. The meeting went to a last heat decider, the pirates won, not comfortably, but a win is a win from their point of view. For the stars there are still positives, we pushed them hard, have won and narrowly lost there this season, effectively taken another point off them and if the two teams meet come play off time, the stars have shown that wimborne road isn't the fortress it has been -
Maybe I read the whole thing wrong, but didn't rob suggest that maybe only the "B" fixtures could have been expunged as everyone had completed the "a" fixtures against the brummies, so it would have still been a level playing field? Mountains, molehills etc Ah maybe I should have read all the posts, GB appears to have raised exactly the same points, only earlier!

Good luck for the future schrammy, your season in the"engine room" with poty sanchez at lynn was awesome . All the best.

Apart from a couple of poor seasons recently , simon lambert has always ridden the NA well, in fact I think he averaged around 10 pts per meeting at home the season he partnered Tom in the pl, but his away form let him down and I believe still does, so to even consider replacing lewis rose with simon lambert would be very short sighted and rob aint daft. If anything , maybe next season there should be a cap on the number of times an "away" ftr can guest at one particular track, eliminating to a certain extent , the use of a "track specialist" by all and sundry

Leicester V King's Lynn Saturday June 7th

I have only been to Beaumont park once, last weekend and it is a lovely set up , great stadium , friendly supporters(well they were on the bank just before the first bend, someone say hi!)and a really smooth racing surface, a bit of banking which should make for good racing but the track is just missing that little something. An off season reshape of the bends maybe, making the track rounder maybe would,, I think turn a good set up into one of the best in the country. A slightly shorter east of England showground with some banking too.......Yes please. -
15 Metre Penalty / Gate Changes
castrolargh replied to Mark's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Or if it was a reserve that offended , bring in a no8, call me old school but having a no 8 is not a bad idea, I would hazard a guess that there will be a "junior " at most tracks most of the time who would relish the chance of maybe getting a few laps in if opportunity were to arise -

castrolargh replied to barrow boy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Last night was my first visit to Beaumont Park , and first thoughts were what a lovely little stadium and the track looked great, but sorry guys just before the first bend, I said I wouldn't say it was gate and go, but, really.I don't know why that is, the track has banking and looks smooth and a good shape but no racing lines! There did seem to be a lot of grading, maybe a bit less would allow more racing lines to develop? I don't know .Great to see the stars win, the best bit of entertainment for me was when PUK got fed up with the start marshall being a t!t and swung his front wheel at him! What is Danish for "F@ckOff"? I couldn't hear PUK but I bet that's close to what was said. -

Pretty much every rider in every league rides for money, only a fool would pretend otherwise.Niels is in the form of his life, he has gone from a good second heat leader who could beat anyone on his day when"winning more trophies" down the A47 to an out an out , no sorry the best No1 in the british elite league since his short move eastwards, and has admitted himself that the situation he is in now in Britain suits him well and has no wish to change that.Maybe this year there may be another british trophy to add to his collection.Heres hoping.

King's Lynn Stars V Leicester Lions 30/04/14
castrolargh replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
except puk left some room for proctor , and it was puk that got excluded Tom Perry rode hard for his points last night and was never far off the pace and max clegg certainly didn't seem like a "wobbler", given time they will come good, they could do with a bit of a confidence boost. They were always going to find it hard work last night. -

Excellent, that means we can cheer Mads on parade AND we get to boo fisher too -
suit yourself, keep moaning and criticising.I for one am going to enjoy this season, as I have many in the past. I don't for one minute think everything in the speedway world is rosy, but I also don't see agendas and conspiracies behind every relatively minor decision. Right now my speedway glass is half full, not half empty......
