  1. Nah, too obvious Do you know who is the odd-one-out from my list?
  2. Ted Moult Tina Marie Torben Morgensson Tony Morino Timmy Mallett Trevor McDonald
  3. Raising expectations based on absolutely no evidence.
  4. Hart is not everyone's cup of tea, but he's 100% into speedway. His outside pass of Nelson at Rye recently was excellent - he worked for a couple of laps to find the line and the space. Not a naturally talented rider, but he does listen and he knows the mechanical side of things too.
  5. There are some very ordinary riders in the PL - no one has disputed that - you are the only person who refuses to acknowledge others' points of view. No one has disputed the fact that the PL is a stepping stone to a better and more solid future for the club - yet you still refuse to accept that too. If you have bothered to read the article (thanks to cardinalsin for posting the link), then you'll see he has plenty to say that is positive about the PL, and the realists amongst us who support the Witches have seen some very good competitive speedway at Foxhall this season - mixed in with some duff stuff too - but that's no differrent to a season of speedway at any track, be it EL, PL or NL. By the way - in this week's Speedway Star they published the Top 50 EL averages - and it's intersting to see that Mads Korneliussen (in your opinion a "very average EL rider") was 15th overall in the (again your words) "star-studded" EL. The stars are going out, one by one
  6. Mads Korneliussen is 20th in the EL Green Sheets dated 1st October. If the EL has 20 star riders and by your own standards Korneliussen is a very average EL rider, then perhaps you can tell us how many stars there really are ... 19 or less LOL at the unbridled ignorance of the Aljerk troll.
  7. From the Speedway Star (week 12 Nov), page 39, in the Australia section Peter White reports: "The Aussie grapevine is linking the highly promising Rohan Tungate with Ipswich next year and the equally-talented Mason Campton with Glasgow. Both boys, along with Sean McLellan, would be prize signings. Good luck to any club that takes the plunge - these three are winners. Another rider heading for Britain, for the first time, in 2012 will be North Queenslader Damien koppe, son of former Exeter and Canterbury rider Steve Koppe. He's not sure where he'll be based. His girlfriend is a doctor so it will depend on where she can land a job."
  8. Might as well state the obvious: L Bjerre, Doolan, Poole, Risager, Mills, Hart, Heeps Would enjoy seeing Tressarieu again, even at the expense of Bjerre, but doubt his commitments can be fitted around a full PL season. Interesting to hear Bjerre say in an interview on the 4TT Final DVD that Leicester is his favourite track ...
  9. Bunyan just likes to winter in New Zealand, and has ridden in the NZ Championship in recent seasons. Chris Mills is going over there this winter.
  10. Depends if you can write English correctly . I'm getting thoroughly cheesed off with this thread becasue it's just come down to everyone making all sorts of assumptions about Ipswich, eg. there's pots of money, and Tungate & Morris have already signed! The reason that Ipswich moved from the not-even-close-to-EL was because there wasn't much money available, and what there was needed to be spent much more wisely than poured down the all-consuming drain of the nectEL. Despite great seasons in the distant past, Ipswich is not a big club and Chris Louis has stated many times that this season was the start of rebuilding. As for Mr Snackette - we have had our own stupid run-ins this seson, but I have to agree with him that people are reading far too much into simple factual statements. I quite enjoy Mr S's gentle mickey-taking of people who seem to take everything as either attacks on their team/promoter or even personally. The only person who deserves any vilification is that useless, trolling and dangerous imbecile: Aljerk.
  11. As mentioned by another sensible poster, the whole Tungate to Ipswich thing was mentioned by a single person, and has suddenly become the truth, and that Ipswich have loads of money, and now there are even claims that they've got Sky money! I doubt that any of the EL teams have got Sky money squirrelled away - it's simply used to subsidise an expensive product. If there was any spare cash at Foxhall, it was invested this season. I spoke to Chris Louis early in the season and he said they were working to a strict budget - I have no reason to doubt that, but I absolutely do not know any details. I did establish anecdotal evidence that the top riders in the EL can earn as much in one match as a whole PL 1-7 on the standard PL rates.
  12. So you say: "nearly everyone was predicting the Witches would walk the league (not me I must add)" and then say "Struggled to finish 3rd" What kind of contradictory trolling rubbish is that? Make your mind up!
  13. Why have you got this fixation that Ipswich is a rich club?
  14. No thanks - if the Sackers Witches want that sort of rider, they may as well stick with Mills.
  15. Don't forget that the rules for the not-very-rolling averages could be tinkered with or hopefully even scrapped, which would cause a few changes ...
  16. I have to be very pedantic here and point out that the Telford event is "Speedway on Ice". If you want to see the very different Ice Speedway then a trip to Assen is highly recommended .
  17. How do people know these things? I wouldn't have the faintest idea what sort of money any of the Witches riders are on.
  18. Would be shocked if it is Ipswich offering "silly money".
  19. Ipswich journo Mike Bacon produces a wacky blog every so often, and the latest is no exception: http://tinyurl.com/3bel2p3

  21. The Potters lost at Mildenhall last Sunday, with a full team - OK, Nobes had to pull out, but it was Stoke's decision to use a totally untried rider on a track different to anything he would have ridden competitively before. Mind you, the current rules don't help a depleted team - the old T/S rule would have given Stoke more options than the appalling non-tactical, it's a knockout joker. As for the play-offs, I was never a fan. However, having watched the PL descend into not-a-lot this season, they would have definitely added some spice to the final stages of the season - although the weather and the (what turned out to be) silly Phase 2 didn't help at all. If you are going to have play-offs, then the best option has got to be to reward the League winers with a trophy, and the Play-Off champions get a different trophy. Getting some sponsorship for them would also be helpful ...
