North is not a replacement for Bjerre. I think North at #2, Poole & Risager at #3 & #4 and Tresarrieu at #5.

Yes - there's no activity on the Witches Forum either. I think fans are happy with the team - we can let everyone else talk up their chances

You really do say some odd things. There's definitely a word for it if they are related!

A big shame - but Chris Louis has stated all along he wants his own assets (whatever that means in speedway!) and by bringing in Heeps and Tungate has left no room for Mills or Hart, both who belong to other clubs. Schramm doesn't really match up with any of the top 5 - especially after his injury last season. I think that's a harsh but fair assessment. A top bloke, who will always give 110%, and he should get fixed up elsewhere, as with Mills and Hart. There are some good young Brits at Mildenhall - hopefully that channel will produce some in the coming seasons. Louis is definitely in this for the long haul, and 2012 will be only the second season of a new project. A huge well done to all at Ipswich.

Well, it will be good if at least three or four can up their averages - especially Doolan at the top end of the side - and possibly Tresarrieu with a chance to ride a full season (the way that he passed Nieminen twice at Leicester was not just classy, it also took the wee-wee out of a very experienced EL standard rider). Heats 13 & 15 are there to be won, just as heats 1 to 12 and 14. Unlike some people on this forum, I do not consider trophies as the be-all-and-end-all - speedway is an entertainment. We won't know until the wheels start turning, but I think the 2012 Sackers Witches are already lining up to be a very exciting bunch, and potentially a successful team too.

From the BSF: The second annual Rob Woffinden Classic at the Pinjar Park Speedway was won by American Ricky Wells over Ty Proctor and Frank Smart. Simon Stead crossed the line in second but was disqualified for having two wheels over the white line. Heat points on the night - Simon Stead 11, Frank Smart 10, Ricky Wells 9, Cameron Woodward 8, Rasmus Jensen 8, Ty Proctor 8, Ricky Kling 5, Cameron Heeps 5, Daniel Winchester 5, Joe Jacobs 4, Nicolai Klindt 3, Brady Webb (res) 1, Bob King 0, Kale Ballantyne 0, Ethan Ballantyne (res) 0.

2011 Rob Woffinden Classic, Pinjar Park, Perth Wa

It's a tiny track ... so could well have suited him. -
I don't think so. Louis is looking to add to the assets/retained list/whatever it's called, and I don't think he would "invest" in Schramm, no matter how popular and 110% commitment he is. Similarly with Mills. A shame for both of them - and you wonder where they will get fixed up ...

They were predominantly gaters ...

Kristiansen and ... ... ... ... Dakota North

As always, ignorant of two things: Chris Louis said he is rebuilding the club, which is a longer term goal. 2011 was a successful season: a brand new team, which achieved third place in the PL and won the 4TT which was one of the few major trophies on offer. Several other PL clubs would have given anything for that sort of season.

Hart has already been discounted - not sure if Lakeland will be able to get him fixed up elsewhere? To be honest, I'm surprised that Uncle Len has plumped for Bunyan, who some people think is on bargain average. Hart would be a good reserve at Dry Hose, and potentially better value than Bunyan. Mills looks like he has also missed out on a Witches place - combination of reasons could be considered, eg. got a 5+ average from a season at reserve, not an asset and 27/28 years old. Great bloke and 110%, but probably not the future that Chris Louis is trying to build? Schramm - almost identical to Mills, except 1.5 points better - but possibly/probably not going to improve on that. Returning from a back injury - I'm told he was having a spin at Scunthorpe last week, so it looks like he's intending to ride. Sadly, he doesn't even appear in many fans wish lists - and I have to admit that riders such as Gathercole or North have a greater appeal when looking for improvement and to the future ... Also, any new Danes available? They come into the PL on a 7.00 ...
-
Sedgmen himself said that he would like to ride at Ipswich. Not sure about taking him on a 5.3/4ish average, with two untried (though, of course, highly rated) lads at reserve. If Tresarrieu is returning, then the proposed line-up would be: Doolan, Tresarrieu, Poole, Risager, Tungate & Heeps - leaving 7.18 for the final rider (0.01 less than Kozza Smith's average).

I think you are right in as much as work will continue, but I don't think we should expect any announcements for the remainder of this year. At the recent conference all of the promoters will have put forward the team that they hope to track in 2012 ... it's now a case of everything being brought together.

If the not very rolling Averages are taken from all matches up to a maximum 38, then those four meetings in 2010 should also be counted (assuming they were official) ...

Blimey, all the poor chap did was express an opinion, based on a newspaper article! I hope you've got out of the right side of bed this morning . It must be tough to attract new riders when your location is very much out on a limb. The vital thing is for Bowden to build a team that is competitive at home - don't forget that the Devils didn't finish bottom in 2011 ...

Please don't expect any news on the Witches at least until the New Year.
-
My understanding was that Heeps could only have ridden in the NL if he had a patriality link, so would therefore come into the PL on 3.00 becasue of that. Tungate is an Aussie, so would come in on the foreign rider assessed average for a non-professional league country (5.00 in 2011) wherever he rode. We shall have to wait and see ...

Not sure about Schramm's fitness. He's in one of those body-braces, and even had to get married while wearing it! Even so, he was a frequent visitor to Foxhall and, like Chris Mills, is very, very popular. Sadly for Schramm & Mills, they are exactly the sort of riders who seem to be squeezed out when the points limit decisions are made. Schramm didn't really hit the heat leader heights before his injury, but would be a solid middle-order man if he decides to ride again. Mills spent the whole season at reserve, so will be under more pressure in the main team - his average will see him in the top 5 of just about any team that signs him..
-
I think you'll find that it's every one else coming onto the Ipswich thread saying who the Sackers Witches are signing, while the fans themselves are waiting with anticipation. If you all concentrate on your own teams and stop worrying about the Witches we might see a slow-down in the page count
