Good to see Morten Risager practicing at Foxhall on Thursday. He was at Lakeside helping Freya and Chris Louis with sales of the #RICO t-shirts and said that he hopes to be riding in a few weeks. He has only just been given clearance by the doctor to get back on a bike. Not sure how many competitive racing opportunities he will get (Danish League?), but I guess he will be doing laps at Foxhall after matches and probably at Mildenhall too.

The simple answer was to ask, so I did, and the reply is that he will wear his own suit .

What do you expect him to say - he's trying to sell a newspaper!

I think you've missed the point that Chris Louis needed some dosh for the club. British speedway is almost totally reliant upon cash flow, and there hasn't been any since Good Friday ...

See my update above, with the quote from Chris Louis. It certainly puts into context any thoughts of a return to the not-even-close-to-Elite League.

If it's needed to balance the books, then it's very interesting. Shame that ITFC haven't got anyone worth anything to help with their debts Indeed - updated with text from http://www.ipswichwitches.co/index.php/news-centre/433-danny-king-becomes-a-brummie Ipswich Director of Speedway Chris Louis is disappointed to sell one of his assets but explains, "It was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make so far in my short period in charge of the club. The decision to sell Danny to Birmingham may come as a shock to some as I continue with my aim to re-build the club. Unfortunately bringing the brightest new talent to Ipswich comes at a cost but it is vital that we continue to do so. We also received a 10% rent increase for Foxhall just 24 hours before the first meeting of the season which obviously came as a massive blow and hit the season's budget very hard. I have involved Danny all the way through the process and would like to thank him for his cooperation, I have to stress that Danny was happy to remain a Witch but when the offer came he agreed that he was enjoying his time at Birmingham and if it was best for the club then he was happy to join them full time. Danny's transfer gives us continued security at a difficult time for all clubs and I would like to wish Danny every success with his new club. He has always been a real pleasure to deal with and he knows he will always be welcome at Foxhall".

I think they want you to get the paper, to find out .

I'm sure Chris Louis can give them some advice about moving the drains. Taking the white line in on the straights as well as the bends has been an excellent decision at Ipswich - that alongside the move up to the PL.
-
That was worked out by the fans ages ago - indeed, almost before a race had even been staged. Even on photos it looked too narrow.

Speedway Star for w/e 21 April has a two page interview with Leigh Lanham, and features the Sackers Witches on the back cover. It's nomally available at Martlesham Tesco, and WH Smith in town used to have stock (but I avoid going into town). Cockram's newsagent on Foxhall roundabout used to hold stock too.

I think it depends who is replaced . Certainly Nelson could only replace Mellgren (assuming Mellgren is only a temporary replcement). If they then wanted to replace, e.g. Hawkins, then the rider must have a lower average than the rider being replaced OR must not take the team over 42.50. So: if the combined average is 44.00, then Mellgren could replace, e.g. Hawkins, if his Green Sheet is lower than that of Hawkins - ths bringing the team under 44.00. If the team average is 42.00, then Mellgren's average could be up to 0.50 higher than the rider he replaces - thus taking them up to 42.50.

Current Ipswich averages after four matches (E&OE): Rolling Averages: Lanham 7.57 Doolan 7.21 Poole 6.90 Tresarrieu 6.35 North 5.80 Tungate 6.73 Heeps 5.25 Lanham, Doolan Poole & North all have Rolling Averages based on 38 matches. Tresarrieu's RA is based on 18 from last season, plus the four official matches so far. Tungate & Heeps obviously have ridden only the four official matches so far. Four Sackers Witches matches only (CMA includes BPs): Lanham CMA 7.11 NBP 6.67 Doolan CMA 9.39 NBP 8.35 Poole n/a Tresarrieu CMA 4.00 NBP 4.00 North CMA 9.27 NBP 8.18 Tungate CMA 8.55 NBP 6.73 Heeps CMA 6.75 NBP 5.25

I have sent e-mails asking for clarification of the Rolling Averages rules, and await a response ... <watches spider making cobweb> ...
-
I agree we all need a break from the ever changing rules, but it's not a straightforward assumption that Tungate will jump straight into the team. As a quick example, Tressarieu's current 6.87 Green Sheet is based on only 18 matches. Even if he scores just 4 points per 4 rides in his next 20 matches (for an average of 4.00), his 38 match Rolling average will actually be 5.48. So, for riders who already have rolling averages we can't predict what their new averages will be, e.g. on 1st May, unless we know exactly which old scores will be dropped (where the rider has a maximum 38 matches in their green sheet). Even with North's excellent start to the season, his average may not change drastically ... so if Tungate averages say 6.00, then it could be North who falls to reserve ... I have sent a couple of e-mails trying to find out how this is all supposed to work.
-
It all depends on the Rolling Averages. As I said, you need to learn and understand more about the rules. I have asked a few questions about how the averages will be calculated and applied this season. Tungate and Heeps will be the only two Sackers Witches riders with "real-time" averages.
-
You need to understand the rules. Also, if you're prepared to make assumptions based on just a handful of matches, you've been watching too much football.
-
Are you sure it was Sheffield? Be interesting to see how he goes at Shielfield - maybe the foam fence will encourage him to turn up.

But no Witches matches until after that ...

Replacement Plans in Place - Chris Louis: http://www.bbc.co.uk...motogp/17430214 (NB: link is to an audio clip). Can you quote who/what you are replying to, please. It's really easy to click on the "Quote" link on the relevant post. Thanks. There's a big difference to being critical of Lanham, and critical of his ability to ride the old Foxhall. He has always been a model professional, and is a very good rider at PL level.
