OMG the moaning on here is dreadful We've got the dates we have and work around it...or would you prefer no British Gp at all?? No panic by me as regards Stadium tickets...buy on day or nearer the time..don't think its a "sell out venue" for Speedway just yet! I wish we could fill it though would be AWESOME!! Must admit just booked hotel though www.hilton.co.uk for Newport Hotel £99 room only+£38 breky+£8 to make fully refundable and no deposit taken+cancel upto 4pm day of arrival if wish to!....and those prices are for room 2 double beds suitable for 4 adults.(2ad+2ch bit cheaper) Its on J24 of M4 and go back to J31/32/33 for road into Cardiff on the day. Other than drive you all there on the day....can't do any more for ya!!!! Off to look up the ferry prices now

Great that we know when this is on now next year The engine start time is 6pm in 2012 an hour later than the past couple of years.

Will attend whatever the date but just wondering....will it revert back to a weekend in June (or another date) as is it only August in 2012 cause of the Olympics? Supposed to be an official announcement tonight during World Cup Final Not long till we find out!!!

I reckon all the moaners wanting the Gp back at Wembley (albeit a different stadium to "the glory days")...They are probably 'southerners'..everything they have is the best... not Do you not think the London hotels will also note the GP weekend and raise their prices also?? This would occur wherever its held. I say leave at Cardiff, where we were welcomed when we were looking for a stadium and its been a success thus far, suits the majority of people and the roof is the added bonus of no cancellation. Sad as it is I'd hate to admit being a Bradfordian is that Odsal will NEVER happen

I think Middlo has great rapport with the riders and was proud at the way they fought back lastnight. Enjoyed the meeting regardless of the result. Hindsight is a wonderful thing....you can't please everyone all of the time...are just some of the one liners that are appropriate. No matter who he chose for the team/used for the joker it wouldn't please all. In the final heat thought Tai may have remained in 3rd runoff for 3rd place, we may have got the Czechs instead of a stronger Russia in the final, if Emil etc are back in for Gorzow Come on Team Gb thursday...

I'm assuming you're talking about "Knappy" rider for Bradford Northern/Barons of the 70's?? I was a wednesday night regular on the terraces at Odsal and can remember with fondness his riding skills. Would love to see him miss the start to come picking his way through the field to get 1st...ah!! Also "The Olympiad" where riders would be handicapped as a result of previous finishing position and he could even pass from 30yds handicap start!! A unmissable figure in his mustard coloured leathers. Would be interested in what/where he is now...think he used to have a business in Eccles when riding at Bradford. have "The Olympiad" programme from 1971...came 2nd,+20 came 1st,+30 came 1st,+30 came 2nd,+20 came 1st....won the meeting on 13pts!! GO Knappy go!!!

M.P...do you know what you are?? A blooming star thats what!!!...the effort you go to every Gp and now World Cup to make the event more enjoyable for us programme filling freaks never ceases to amaze me. Thankyou again!!

I for one (and my family) will ALWAYS attend Cardiff no matter what.....even though this trip involves the expense (on top of the GP tickets)of getting in a relief milker to milk our herd while we are away and a 3hr drive from Cork to Rosslare/3 hrs ferry crossing on frequently rough seas and then a 3 hr drive from Fishguard to Cardiff/ hotel costs on top. You dont think some rowdy folk are gunna put me off having a ball!!! Just hope something can be done so that this event does not turn out to be an event publicised and remembered for all the wrong reasons (fights etc).

I think when you quoted my post you thought I was referring to Cardiff My comment was an answer to using Odsal for a GP ( as a reply to prev post)......I WANT the GP in Cardiff and agree with your comments wholeheartedly....

Hope this 'minority' who seem intent on ruining other peoples enjoyment do not get all fans in Cardiff "tarred with the same brush" and put in the same treatment bracket as Football "fans"...we need to keep our Family Friendly Image!! TRUE, FAITHFUL and SENSIBLE Speedway fans..who only want to enjoy a good meeting are the majority....even though even some of those seem to have to spend most of their time in the pub!!and stress to the rest of us that we should be in the pub too! People with kids and/or ones who don't wish to be well oiled going into the stadium seem to be getting fewer and far between.

If only!! As good as this sounds I think its "flogging a dead horse!"...pity though as was my local track and boy was it a Great place to be wednesday nights during the 70s..Steve Wilcock, Gary Petersen the Sheldrick brothers ah!!!!!!!!!!!!their White and blue tops flapping in the wind! Love Cardiff as its always going to be a runner even when raining Hope they can get a contract sorted soon.

Cardiff will remain I am almost certain...only to get a contract sorted.Can't see the stadium owners wanting to lose us and us lose them either. As the saying goes "If its NOT broken, why fix it!!" I would love to see the Millennium progress to full or at least getting fuller year by year as I think its doing up to now. Maybe as a one off they could book a real well known act for the pre event entertainment and advertise well (not just inbetween skys speedway meetings!!) and maybe attract extra non-speedway supporters to it Roll on 2012
