  1. Yes O'Neills would be the way to go......being an Irish bar and therefore loads of craic!!!!!
  2. How very sad for you, and what a nice gesture. I'm sure some fan will be in contact about the tickets, and hopefully will pay you something for use of seats. You will miss your trip to Cardiff but maybe invite the other friend up to Wales as usual and toast the departed friend by having a tv night watching the gp. God Bless
  3. Exactly and wonder will he be the 'live pundit' in Sky studio for the GP ......or as he has agreed to be patron of this event will he be at the opening day of the History of Bradford Speedway Exhibition at Bradford Industrial Museum, Moorside Road, Eccleshill, Bradford BD2 3HP???? this event is going to be there for 3 months from Havvy Anniversary. Please support
  4. I think that the Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey team are going to have a stand at the Fanzone area (St. Marys st) and didnt Cardiff Blues (rugby) have one another year?? Both of their websites were running a competition for their followers to win GP tickets...can only do good to get the "locals" interested http://www.cardiffde...ay-spectacular/ and also found this....who says theres no promotion of this event in Wales? http://www.ceredigio...articleid=18389 Great to see....lot better than adverts in the Speedway star!! (nothing wrong with SS except its preaching to the already converted!!) Cook for Cardiff....good news
  5. http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sports/sports-news-round-up/2012/08/01/wales-prop-adam-jones-gearing-up-for-2012-speedway-gp-at-millennium-stadium-91466-31525703/ Seems like someone has noticed our sport
  6. Train as in 'Drops of Jupiter', great song but I dont think speedway crowds are quite on the same level as nascar though so therefore we cannot ever hope to afford better acts than we're getting. Its always a great day all in all. Some folk on here put way too much emphasis on the acts but after all it is the speedway racing thats important and everything else is a bonus. I'm a farmer (ess) so always the eternal optimist
  7. http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/1669/flawless-in-cardiff Well could have been worse. Looking forward to the brass band (me being a Yorkshire lass ). I think I have also read that the rewaco trikes are doing the riders parade again this year....must say always create a great start to the meeting. Roll on 25th!!
  8. I would like a northerner Josh Auty, Craig Cook or Stuart Robson either win outright or be second behind Bomber so that he can go to Cardiff....absolutely sick of seeing same old faces, getting same old result, Scott or Tai have never amazed at Cardiff (unfortunately!!) ...hope the younger lads can step up their form and come out on top of this.Should be a good meeting either way.
  9. Thanks as ever MP.....looking forward to this meeting, and I would like either Josh Auty/Stuart Robson to win Please!! (We need a new face having a go at Cardiff not the same old faces with same old result) about time a 'northerner' had a blast at this.
  10. You can count me in as one of the many that do care ......theres always a moan on yearly here complaining on who BSI/IMG pick for the entertainment. I am looking forward to my drive into Cardiff which is a lovely city, bus down to the bay area for a 'Bay Blast'!! for anyone who hasn't been its a brilliant 15minute speedboat 'blast' around the bay for £7...best £7 ever spent. Then back to city for lunch and buildup around the streets / fanzone area (forget about Monster girls and the mud!..how about a few Chippendales for us lady Speedway fans!!??), into the stadium and the PRE event entertainment (whoever it is!)...which is exactly what it is just a precurser to the REAL action of the Gp itself. Sounds like a good way to spend a day to me Roll on thursday 23 August and my ferry across the Irish sea.
  11. I shall as always await with anticipation for this meeting and of course the added bonus of your programme to fill in Thanks as always....sad life I know but instead of being s** starved I'm speedway starved over here in Eire Come on Bomber!! i'll keep faithful to him hopefully he'll reciprocate and WIN!!!
  12. Thats great news if he will be back in this weekends Gp........wondering though, why don't speedway riders have their collarbone removed like jockeys do?? Obviously the body can manage "without it" so would it not cut out a few injury problems? maybe riders need for extra strength in their arms although you would think jockeys could say the same too.
  13. this is indeed a pity for poor Jason, and the next gp just over a week away get well soon. hope it won't affect us seeing you in Cardiff ..get the duct tape out Jas
  14. And, of course, it does help to create some excitement and closer finishes however false and unsavoury that may be to some British fans and, it would seem, several BSF posters. Speedway is in the entertainment business and TV audiences are an essential component and these days the tail often wags the dog. Thats a bit unfair (PR) I think its because we tend to favour RACERS and not gaters!! , and lets face it thats the way the track is prepared more often than not and why newbies to the sport always say '1st from gate wins'. I'd rather see a RACE anyday regardless of outcome. Not giving into tactics seems to be an "everlasting" trait with the Brits, they hardly ever fall off when pushed etc.....preferring to try and RACE!! Hopefully Team GB will never resort to those tactics and even worse by slowing down on final bends etc like in World Cup, just to win. Thank Goodness
  15. I say get rid of the joker too..made a mockery of it when NP "threw" the race by NOT racing! I would say the same should any team have done it. Rule is team 6 pts behind can play joker and riders must be seen to be racing to the line (would have thought more so for the lead rider!!!)I unlike when a third placed rider in race with only 3 racers! when he has to push it home to actually finish to gain the point thats remaining). I've never been a fan of NP but must admit he is a character of the sport of which we could do with more of.......he thinks of his sponsors too, when he sees the tv camera "on him" he does something be it, kick a chair, throw a helmet etc so the camera obviously stays on him and sponsors get the coverage. What a man lol Enjoyed the racing overall this year in WC. Roll on Cardiff now next
  16. I have to agree (unfortunately !) that GB put up a bad performance tonight.....I wish also that Middlo would try a different batch of riders albeit younger with no experience, as this way they would at least gain some WC experience, instead of same old same old. ( did you see TW chatting away for team OZ during meeting really showed his solidarity with the right team.......NOT!). Wish Sky would stop apologising when riders swear......we know exactly what the football players are saying too if only by lip reading and no apols for them, plus for people who English is their second language they seem to think the F word is normal queens english, unfortunately!
  17. Me too!!! totally agree, this World Cup is a delight to behold...hope the end result goes in GB favour. Come on lads!!!!!.....oh yes almost forgot, Thanks MP for your efforts
  18. I never said whether to do it early or late though did I? Only to keep aware of the "gap"
  19. I think the World Cup is special.....just look at the racing it produces and EVERY year. The competition is to find the best team in the world so why not a yearly meeting? same as Gp to find the best rider yearly. Looking forward to Raceoff tomorrow night...come on your Brits oh yer and Tai!!
  20. I will be cheering team Gb on as I did monday night.......the lads gave a sterling performance but our tactics were all wrong, dont come in front too many races and let other teams go too far ( ) behind..keep watching the scores!!! Also I'd love to see Yorkshire man Josh Auty in the team....get in there you Brits!! maybe we could do with Stekkers being our manager
  21. They didnt use Darcy cause knew they didnt need to.....when will Woffy finally ride for Aus properly (suppose when he's had enough practise!) Good enjoyable race meeting though
  22. MP You are as ever ..on the ball (or should that be bike!).. shall revisit later to print it off ready for tonights meeting. Racecard always makes my enjoyment of the meeting more so.
  23. Presume these Over 60s concession prices are available at the ticket office on the day too.....havent purchased my tickets yet this year, going to get them on the day. (Hopefully)
  24. Dont move from Cardiff...anywhere but London. Wouldnt help them pay their bills if it was the last stadium on the planet.
  25. I think you will be safe enough aiming for the 9pm train...as the meeting starts at 5pm again this year it should be over by 8pm and give or take slight delays with stoppages by 830 maximum. The railway station is only across the road from the stadium so you should make it easily. Good Luck. (If I can recall last year I was munching on a McD burger at west end of M4 before they closed at 10!!! on my way back to the Irish ferries Apologies...just checked the SGP website and this year meeting starts at 6pm ( when its been 5pm previously) I still think you will be ok unless there are an outragious amount of stoppages.....maybe start working your way to the exits and watch the final/fireworks from there ready to run.
