  1. Couldnt trundle around at the back and win .....he'd be accused of not racing!!!
  2. The rider getting "reward" of 1 point in the semi doesn't get to the final!!! Surely there should be some reward albeit 1 point for actually reaching and finishing last in a Final. I'm in favour of 4,3,2,1
  3. Set the alarm and was up and at the ready...pity I felt like going back to bed half way through!! Cleared the withdrawal symptoms after a long winter and shall hope and pray the European GPs are an improvement on the NZ meeting. Eurosport did a fine job, pity the racing couldnt match .Loved Johnno and his plug for Cardiff...yes it is the best one to go to...roll on June 1st! I hope what few highlights theyd have looked good on the highlights programme this morning...we need to find new followers of this great sport, but it will only happen if there is "RACING" and excitement to catch the eye of newbies!!
  4. Slightly obvious there, when I checked the schedule didnt see Speedway advertised for next saturday morning so thought it different. Thanks
  5. Could any knowledgeable person on here please tell me is BRITISH Eurosport a different channel to Eurosport? I have Sky Sports switched off and can still receive Eurosport, 2 and HD (channels 410,411&412) but is British Eurosport a completely different channel?
  6. I like Nige and Kelvin, but thats only my opinion Nigel knows his speedway and always does a great job in plugging furture meetings at multiple tracks, and at least promotes the sport!! Its the old scenario that you can't please everyone all of the time, but picture yourself doing the job and how good would you be?? I think they add atmosphere....and are better than TMillard (in my opinion, let me stress!!! before someone attacks me on here ) Lets just relish the thought of Gps back on tv...thats enough for me.
  7. Yes!! What a result ...can only do good for the sport (hopefully) that its on a very bike orientated channel, and its cheaper than having to subscribe to Sky SPORTS.....Wonder will this be reflected in that viewing figures will be down dramatically ( as if they not low enough already after last years rainoffs, bad racing etc) as folk not going to pay extra for SS just for the EL Meets??. I for one will NOT be paying extra to get the SS and will just watch the GPs on Eurosport. I will miss seeing and hearing Nige and Kelvin though , well maybe I will hear 'em!! Will Eurosport grab the chance next year when the Sky contract runs out for the EL Coverage?....hope so but maybe just a highlights show which can give tasty snips of good racing and cut out the rest!! Its the only way we can hope to "tempt" supporters back. Roll on NZ!!!!
  8. Yes!! What a result ...can only do good for the sport (hopefully) that its on a very bike orientated channel.
  9. Sad news of Havvys retirement. He was a great captain at Bradford and as 2017 is the 20th Anniversary of Bradford being EL Champions maybe now is the time to start organising the "Reunion" .....enjoy your retirement Havvy but I'm sure its not goodbye.....(I can feel a sky pundit role coming on! )
  10. Jez some of the responses on here  Some people cant have a discussion. All we're wondering by asking a civil question is has there been some "development" with the coverage and has anyone heard anything? One poster earlier said Eurosport had an ad in their mag, then someone else chirps up theres no one covering it. Just wish GP website would keep us informed of any developments good or bad. I like to be telling people watch out for it on tv but cant "promote" it if nothing to say. Id personally prefer to retain the Gp coverage and lose the EL as the GPs should be really close and competitive this coming year, but I do realise GP costs more to transmit with cameras/HD etc, but just a pity now Monster got involved.
  11. In previous years there has been shots of Speedway included in Skys sports adverts for following months....seen March and saw no pic of speedway, pity if coverage not LIVE but shown as a highlights show (as mentioned maybe on eurosport) would not be the same, but suppose better than not at all. This years Gps should be on par or maybe even better than previous years with the "young guns" being more plentyful. Come on Greg and Nicki give em a run for it!!! should produce some good racing.
  12. I'm hoping to see Gps on tv somewhere as its the only chance I get to see Speedway (except for a yearly trip to Cardiff for the GP and another odd meeting if I'm lucky to be visiting GB for a second visit and to be near a track.)...only a month to the Gp in NZ and no mention of coverage .
  13. Maybe we could see Julian Ryder back as the presenter...he's on Eurosport and always enjoyed his chats when he did Speedway in the 1990's before Nigel and kelv took over.....he was the male Suzi Perry legging up and down the pits
  14. Can i just say.... I'm sick to the b****cks of ball sports (most esp Football) on Sky. Come on Sky give the less supported sports a break and continue coverage. Its not like we're asking for more, just to remain at what always existed. I'm going to "try" and remain positive until theres an announcement. Would be a pity to lose Gp coverage though just when a few 'legends' have left the sport/gps and the 'young guns' are entering
  15. I will definately cancel sky sports.......I paid the fee especially for Speedway and NOT yet more and more pansies kicking a football around a pitch!!! ..its such tripe! . I have cancelled Sky Sports every winter since they started showing the GPs and put back for the season starting but 2013 will be different  ...."Thanks for the Memories" Sky, twas good while it lasted
  16. Now that this tin of worms is opened...I would like the tracks to be improved (if thats possible!) so that it wouldnt matter which gate a rider got because he would RACE to win the race and not rely on best gate (gate and go!!) thats NOT RACING!.. Rant over
  17. I suppose he'll be Aussie if he wins anything and a Brit if he dont (or maybe that should be the other way around!!)..time will tell
  18. Tai was on SGP website as quote "wanting the Glory but not the Limelight".....lets see how he performs on the BIG stage now that he is GB's sole representative in the gp.
  19. I have a sister in law in orange,CA maybe its time I paid her a visit Anyone know if this is going to be on tv (either LIVE! or a later showing) either would suit me just to see the event
  20. thanks again for your efforts this year hopefully we get a great meeting for the final gp of 2012....see you in 2013. any new ideas foryour programmes???
  21. The "Turbo twins" and now "Siamese twins"...how many more sets in Speedway I've a feeling Nicki could pull this one off but would like Holder to win.....think theres going to be some fireworks tonight and not just the ones after the meeting!!!! Hope all riders stay safe and its a great and fitting end to Jasons final gp season. Thanks for the memeories Crumpy!!
  22. Many Thanks as ever for your racecard which I always thoroughly enjoy filling in ...I LOVE your version, I did try DW version occasionally but my computer freezes every time before printing......must be the NP Danish effect!!! . I'll probably stick with the British version in future. You can have a bit of a rest after the next Gp MP, but don't forget us in 2013
  23. Nothing surprises me with that NP .....he loves himself and the cameras and KNOWS his reaction will get him and his SPONSORS on tv. Pity some of the Brits can't take a leaf out of his book (not by knocking riders off!! ) but by getting their "hard earned" sponsors some tv coverage. I'll give NP credit for that, its one thing he does get right in his meetings
  24. I obviously know he did...couldn't resist my reply. Thanks...don't ya just love it on here.....
