  1. Couldnt agree more, after the Rebels packed up in 78 i didnt attend any meetings in 79.1980 saw me visit the dark side and i went to Hackney most weeks and Wimbledon every week at home as well as some away matches, but it just didnt seem the same.no other team seemed as good to me.I have now been visiting Somerset for a few years and although the racing is entertaining its still just not the same and i dont think it ever will be
  2. I think what your looking for is as rare as rocking horse poo,but if anyone can help you on White City i would be very interested
  3. I used to live in East Acton ,so did your journey in reverse, must admit around Wimbledon stadium was ok but the rest of the area seemed a bit rough to me as a 14 year old
  4. Now that the Yanks are being named i thought it would be nice to hear who everyones favourite Polish riders were, for my money they were always entertaining and sometimes very unpredictable. My top three are Marek Cieslak-WHITE CITY,Edward Jancarz-WIMBLEDON and Toni Kasper-HACKNEY.
  5. The first US rider i ever saw Scott Autry Lanky Brad Oxley And the stylish Dennis Sigalos
  6. Anybody remember Wimbledon riders BRAD OXLEY and ANDERS ERIKSSON from the early 80s,dont know what happened to either of them after they left the Dons.
  7. How much was it to get into your local track when you first started to watch ? How much much did the riders earn, was a number 1 paid the same per point as a number 7
  8. I remember at White City in 77 it was Sonny by BONEY M and in 78 it was We Are The Champions by Queen
  9. Thanks for the compliment Ron,its a long time since anyone called me a sprog ,i will have to tell my kids as they think i am almost ready for the knackers. Rebel 77
  10. Thanks Brian L,much appreciated. Rebel 77
  11. Anyone have memories of the Rebels between 1976 and 1978,i started going there in 77 and have been a lifelong supporter ever since. If anyone has any photos. ,magazine covers or match reports they could e mail me to add to my small collection it would make an old man very happy. Rebel 77
