Can you not just be grateful that your promotion have found a way of securing the clubs financial future moving into 2013. You have a great promotion. I don't see what your actual issue is...

If you don't say then you can move the goalposts. If there was a clear checklist, explicit and if you never met one, you never got a visa. But it's so ambiguous. If a clear statement was made then I am sure people would be more willing to accept things. But it's just a bit Micky mouse in terms of professionalism from the mc in my eyes

From and outsiders point of view; Simon Stead is one of the most naturally gifted motorcyclists I have seen. His style is so easy in the eye. He is never out of a race, he is a pure racer. For me he was the difference maker in the elite league grand final last season. I think Simon will average over 10 at home and around 8 away. I don't think any rider is unbeatable at home, as much as I admire Simon I think it's unfair to compare him to a legend like Wilson. That's not to say that his signing won't galvanise the team, I think it will. A rider who can go out heat 1 win the race and set the tone. I do feel on the road there is a danger Simon could be battling alone at times. Hall- for me I actually quite like Richard Hall. I thought he looked good at Leicester the season he was there. He was thrills and spills. As a monarchs fan he reminds me of Andrew Tully, good at home, inconsistent away. I think Richard needs to just get his head down more away from home. But I do enjoy watching him as I love racers.

Horwood has won his appeal. Promotion must be happy
-
Sporting work permits are a weird and wonderful business. I remember Hearts for example trying to get a work permit for ungandan David obua, due to him not earning enough international caps, the appeal was won on the projection of caps they expected him to win after a letter of recommendation from a ungandan executive. I think to blame Mr Harkess is old hat, and for me it's very dangerous to question his integrity in such a manner. It's a wild accusation with no foundation or substance. Unless there is any evidence to support this accusation then I think some posters need to be very careful. Was the problem not that Glasgow missed the boat with Fricke and were forced to think again after he had gone to Edinburgh. As for Horwood looking at his results I would think on appeal he may have a chance, but I guess the previous promotion dumping o'malley so early on was a black mark against the club, which is probably unfair on the new regime. I know nothing so I am just guessing here, maybe the committee have taken the opinion that between penfold and o'malley and only using them for a short period of time it was another gamble which could result in a similar situation arising. I do feel sorry for the new regime, but I still think we may see Horwood, maybe even both.

Listen I am no Glasgow fan but hey a risk may work, it may not but Sean Courtney is no fool and he must know something. If not then there are always guys put there. The point about grieves and screen is that they can help young guys settle in the pits with set ups etc...
-
It is a team that relies on the young his basically hitting their averages. An assessed average of 5 is always hard to hit and if forced to ride in the top 5 that is always going to be difficult. But the bright spot or glimmer of light that I can find us that any young rider getting to ride with an ex Grand Prix rider like joe screen, or a premier league old stager like James grieves who knows every British track inside out and has amazing track craft and guile. Any young rider is always going to learn from these too. I actually think the key to the tigers team is James wright. If he can up his average the team could do ok, but it's a wait and see job.
-
Wonder what the riding order will be?
-
Think he has untapped potential. Won some big races, if he could find greater consistency. I'd love him to get the final place
-
I am not a tigers fan. But I do like Ricky Wells, a good racer and a character to boot. I don't know exactly what the ins and outs of the new deal wells had been offered, but the promotion obviously have a budget and are sticking too it. Ricky has to make racing pay, so there must be some middle ground. Some would argue if Ricky scored more upped his average his earnings would increase. I guess riders would argue that if they don't score they don't earn. If they don't earn what they deem to be a proper wage they cannot reinvest in keeping their equipment competitive and therefore can't compete to the level they aspire, u totally understand where both parties are coming from. I also understand the fans frustrations. Since the advent of the reformatted PL in 1997 Sheffield were always challengers. Prior to that the club holds a massive history. I live visiting Sheffield and fans are great to chat to. Before I remember as a monarchs fan going to Shef...

I think that all clubs have to live within their means. If we think back to the successful Sheffield sides of Sean Wilson, Andre Compton, Simon stead first time around. Supplemented with decent guys like lee Complin, Simon Cartwright etc, with the odd foreigner to supplement that. But you look at that top 3 I mentioned top riders, but all English and probably not expensive travel wise, scored massive points made Sheffield hard nut to crack. Maybe not enough English riders of this ilk and inferior foreign riders who want big bucks who could not lace Sean Wilson s boots. Just maybe not enough too end home grown talent.

Surely it has to be Helfer for the last place now..

Rory Schlein did ok starting in Scotland. Honestly edinburgh a club with titles in the bank good people like doc Bridget preparing the track a friend if fricke s in Sam Masters. Why would he choose Scotland. Obviously for some reason you believe scottish speedway to be inferior. I on the the other hand look at the reputation edinburgh and Glasgow have got developing young talent, winning titles and being well run clubs, why not choose Scotland. End of..,

You have got to say that glasgows ultimate success Is going to be based on what James wright does. Screen and Grieves you know what you getting. If James wright hits done of that old form you never know how far Glasgow could go, if he doesn't then it may be a struggle. But with screen and grieves you've always got a decent base to build.

This looks like the Plymouth side that fans deserve. A side that should deliver more cons This looks like the Plymouth side that fans deserve. A side that should deliver more consistency both home and away, and keep the team nearer the right end of the table. More to the point that its amazing that the club is now in safe hands with a safe more long term future. I think Proctor and Lemon give a decent top end and the rest seem solid, maybe not a championship winning side but foolish to tile any side out in December and I am delighted the devils are coming to tapes full stop.

Lol do you write Bruce Forsyths jokes for him mate lol

Is Schramm in the Ipswich team? I fail to see your point. I said with Schramm you know what you are getting. I stand by that for me Somerset, Newcastle and Berwick look stronger than Ipswich. Why are you on here trying to nit pick in what is a forum for giving an opinion, I stand by my assessment. As I said Schramm could do a job for a team. What's wrong with that?

Well he has ability and maybe only James can turn that switch back on. But he still wants to ride and as long as that's the case ability does not disappear overnight.
-
The optimism of the festive period and the effects of the mulled wine! Magical holidays!
-
Lanham? No thanks. Tungate agree could do very well guy is class. Ellis needs to find his feet, potential. Heeps needs to find consistency home and away to make inroads. Can be done. Makinen? He adding a point?

It's a fair point we know he has ability...
