  1. You think wrong. But then you're not likely to know as you don't care enough to watch it, allegedly.
  2. Anything other than Jonsson Lindgren Lindback Jonasson Would be foolish.
  3. All I'm saying is that the winner of the GP should also be the rider with the most points. It has always been that way until recent years and my points system above would ensure that.
  4. They would, I completely agree. Such an eventuality is more than likely never going to happen but it is still possible. And that's where it is flawed. In all other GP events the winner of each round gets the most points so why does speedway have to mess with logic and common sense?
  5. As unlikely as it is, this system could result in a rider winning all 12 rounds and not being World Champion. Is that a good system?
  6. No, the current points system doesn't work unless Manchester City could score 2 against Chelsea's 3 and still win the match.
  7. The only thing wrong with the Grand Prix is the scoring system. Once again, this is where speedway shoots itself in the foot by allowing second place to score more than first place. The heat scores should stay but the semis and final need GP points. Final: 1st - 24 2nd - 21 3rd - 19 4th- 17 Semi finalists: =5th - 15 =6th - 13 Bottom eight keep their heat scores. No more embarrassing 1st 19, 2nd 20, 3rd 17, etc.
  8. Sorry about that. It's my Tourette's you see. I musharris is shiitry harder in future.
  9. Totally agree. I was quite bemused by Harris' comments after the Czech GP after scoring 6 points he said he was "happy with that". In his first season his target was to score at least 5 points in every GP. That's a reasonable expectation. 6 years later he's happy to score six. He blames everything but himself; engines, team, tracks. The fact is he is not a world class performer. If by some miracle he is offered another wild card next year he should do the honourable thing and decline as he is wasting a valuable place in the world championship.
  10. Some of the hotels are a joke but not all. If you're prepared to shop around you'll find that some are reasonable. But Cardiff isn't to blame, it's the hoteliers. It's the same for any major event anywhere, they exploit the situation and the customers. Incidentally, try comparing hotels in London with hotels in Cardiff.
  11. If this is a joke, you'll need a punchline. Otherwise, you win 'ridiculous post of the day' award.
  12. M4.. Straight road from London you don't know what you're missing!
  13. I would say Cardiff compared to any speedway stadium is a fairer comparison than Twickenham or Emirates which have nothing to do with speedway.
  14. I find it hard to believe that 1) you consider King's Lynn and Barrow easy to access in comparison and 2) You would travel from Germany to Wembley but would not consider travelling an extra 2 hours along the M4 to Cardiff
  15. Did you write this?: http://www.methanolpress.com/2010/01/attendance-queries/
  16. Maybe that discussion had run it's course. To be perfectly honest I think it's an over the top topic title (Lanning eat your heart out) as the GP is certainly not in tatters. Weaker than the last couple of years yes but not in tatters. The subsequent debate was far more interesting so maybe it would be easier to change the title to 'World Finals: Were they a lottery and did people Camelot more?' and move it to the history section.
