Thanks, though i am a bit surprised .

Wheres Scunthorpe and Kings Lynn then.??

Ben the thing is you dont know if Danny and Lee even want to ride for the Hawks this season..People keep saying,,they should have done this,,He would be better than him..But they have no idea what is going on behind the scenes..It is easy to make asumptions ,but if you dont know the facts theres no point....
-
To be fair to David Mason last year he had a severe medical problem.Hopefully that wont be a problem this season and David will have a much better year...The team looks solid hopefully the top end will strengthen as the younger riders improve through the season..
-
It does seem a bit steep but bare in mind Lakeside have to pay rent for their stadium will be interesting to see Ryes admission prices.?
-
Rockets i think Bens pretty much nailed on...Ben Hopwood is a similar standard to Lee Strudwick ie 3rd heat leader at this level..
-
Well said Malcolm..The guy doesnt deserve all this flack...Now can we get back to Hackney Hawks everyone....
-
There could be a trend happening in the national league born out of financial problems, Cutting cost in this way could see the expansion of the league in future seasons giving more oportunities for british youngsters .however i can see the points limit dropping accordingly...
-
Glad to here that you put the rider first in your sponsership and that really was the point i was trying to make..Obviously the other sponsers are more concerned what they are getting out of it.. Theres speedway people,,, and hard nose buisiness men...I am aware of the help you give to a number of riders and i understand your point..I just hope Barry has an enjoyable season whoever he rides for..
-
Ah the SCUNNY SHEFFS ..can see it now the riders wearing short aprons instead of body colours..
-
Surprised at the signing of Ben Hopwood,a decent middle order rider who has been around a while and may well have reached his level, hope im wrong,..Barry Evans sponsers should respect the riders wishes where he rides..However i suspect the Rye/ Lakeside fans are more concirned about signing the youngsters with real potential You know the lads i mean...
-
Great that common sense has now prevailed..Good that some more riders will get a team place that they might not have done.. And brilliant for us Hawks fans with local derbys a must visit,, always enjoyed our visits to the Fen Tigers..Bring it on...
-
The Hawks have yet to name a number 1 rider and there are not many left..I feel Tommy Allen is unlikely .There is Brundle?? Cant think of to many more..Ah Halsey? surely not likely ,same could be said of Mark Baseby,,Danny Warwick prefers bigger tracks..Lets hope Marc Owen,,Ben Morley and possibly Shane Hazelden all big improvers can step up to the mark this season All will im sure be aiming for the No1 spot .Not sure where Joe Jacobs will be next season could still return ?..While no official announcement has been made the above youngsters may be joined by( my guess possibly ?)..David Mason,?,Lee Strudwick? plus under 15 champion Brandon Freemantle hopefully,, he is stylish and in my opinion would be a cracking good signing ,,which if im correct takes us back to that last rider ?? any ideas ??..None of the above riders has been officially confirmed yet....

I believe the full list of operating teams will be annaunced early next week and would not expect any further signings at belle Vue till then..Though i would have thought that Jason Garrity is a nailed on certainty after recently signing for them on a full contract..Roynon has already signed for the Heathens..
-
I can assure you the COBRAS are not running thats official. They are now the Hawks representing Rye and Lakeside...
-
I have to agree with all that Sean and i dont think that was a major consideration in the forming of this joint venture.More likely financial, with less meetings for Rye to have to fit in, and more for Lakeside to fill in weeks, and give more continuity to their programme..Plus both outfits are looking to bring on British youngsters to ocupy team berths at both tracks And as such both promotions are to be commended for their forward looking plans....It has to be hoped they will get the support they deserve..?
-
This is a Rye House / Lakeside team for gods sake the riders will be in the main Rye or Lakeside assets ,the name used to describe this team is of minimal importance.I really dont get this HATE bit....
-
I have deleted my previous post as i forgot the Isle of wight who should have been in the 8 teams,,, in which case the Rye house and Lakeside team called Hackney Hawks may well be the only team in the National League representing both clubs,This is not official, just a possibility, but we will soon know for certain..This should certainly increase interest in the east end of London for ex Hackney Hawks fans....With Belle View also possibly joining its nice to see Elite league teams starting to take an interest in the 3rd tier of British Speedway and British youngsters...About the only good thing happening in the sport at the present time....

Rockets.. Ben had very good average early season, before a series of problems culminating in a broken ankle at Newport which was not diagnosed till after the next meeting when he had to withdraw,..These meetings saw his average nosedive..But after some time out he came back to produce some impressive perfomances in the league. And finished 2nd in an individual event at Scunthorpe to Thomas Jorgensen....[ Premier this season with Scunthorpe) Ben scored 11 points inc 3 wins..Plus 6th place in the National league riders championship with 9 points inc 2 wins..And Len gave him an opportunity to gain some valuable experience in the Young Shield with the Rockets..So dont read to much into the figures..
-
.Im not sure of Tommys average it would have to be under 4 i believe. If he is qualified it may well happen..
-
With Belle Vue showing an interest in fielding a team in the National League. on the B,S,P,A, Site,,It also suggests the A,G,M.may be sometime this month ,,maybe they know something we dont ?Hope they do join and that the A.G.M. is as soon as possible....
-
Brandon used to do second halves at Eastbourne with Ben Morley 3 seasons ago, looked usefull then and very young. Looks the stand out 15 yr old this season, hope he comes to Rye the best place to be for someone with his potential.
-
Rockets, obviously nothing has officially been decided yet by the management.. I suspect we will know for sure shortly after the A.G.M.. I am sure.Ben will want to of course, like most riders this time of year he cant wait to get back on the bike..Thank you for your interest, and kind sponsership in 2010..Ben was extremly gratefull...
