  1. The raiders take on Buxton on mon afternoon after the Rockets match at 2pm..Dont fancy raiders to win to many matches until the new boys gain a bit more experience,,But im fairly confident we are strong enough to win this one. Should be some good races with Buxtons no1 Rob Branford who always gives 100%.. i believe McKinna is also now in the team so not a stroll for our top 4 lads..Hope the weather will be ok for this,,as all the boys are in need of track time.....
  2. Oh dear does that mean the ferries will be even more exspensive due to the extra distance....
  3. Does anyone know if this meeting is on or off,,, the silence on this thread is deafening ....
  4. Ibelieve Marc withdrew from the under 21 s with concussion ,whether that was official or not i dont know,,if it was then i dont think hes allowed to ride on tuesday..The meeting may in any case fall victim to the awfull weather..Sincerly hope Marc is Ok,,as concussion can be difficult to assess....
  5. Well done to the U.S.A turning things round after two not so great performances at i.o.w and rye ..you have to take into account the borrowed bikes these boys are riding as well..Good luck in the Ukraine i think you will need it..Obliously not a good result for Buxton, but probably blew away a few cobwebs...
  6. For those interested i have spoken to Ben Morleys mum this morning,,Hes ok a few bruises and should be alright to take his place in the under 21 final on tuesday week .. Best wishes for Dylan Black,s recovery from Ben and the family....
  7. Nice to see Joe Jacobs has made a good start to the season..Have always considered him a good prospect ..Allthough with patchy form in the past..Lets hope he can maintain his form throughout the season .and it could then be his break through year....
  8. On his form in the under 21 qualifier Marc Owen can be added to the list .I have watched this lad over several seasons he as always been one of the fastest youngsters we have.... Injuries have slowed his progress in recent seasons....But if he has sorted his gating, and it looks like from this result that he has ,,he will be a real threat in the under 21 Final .....
  9. I sincerly hope this is a good entertaining meeting ,,that the riders stay safe,, and the weather is fine,, unfortunatly while i would love to be there to support our Ben and the rest of the lads I have a gig in hampshire tonight...Not happy but we all have to work sometimes...
  10. You are right Rockets the tail is where the U.S.A may pick up a few points and good use of tactical rides in the right heats may produce a few more ..We have to remember that the U.S.A lads are on borrowed equiptment some of which may not be that great .. I dont however expect our top 4 to be dropping many points though,,,.With the u.s.a being used to small tracks they may well perform better at Rye than the I.O.W . I hope so ,,cant be there myself as im working that night.....
  11. Ben Morley is looking for Premier place and has guested for the Rockets this season His 8 paid 10 from 4 against Sheffield shows what he can now do at that level..His one National league meeting against the I.O.W Scored 14 from 5 rides..He has good equiptment this season and would be happy to take ,,if suitable,,, guest bookings in either league as well.....
  12. The stoke under 21 qualifier was cancelled last sat so,, no they wouldnt have missed this meeting,, but now it clashes with the U.S.A Meeting.... And Hawkins aint great Dekker... But with his experience though ,,hardly a national league rider,, only ones likely to beat him on sat would be Garrity or Morley,, if they gate in front of him...
  13. Sure Nelson has to come back when able too,,but what stops Hawkins being replaced by Melgren if so desired ,,,after that happens ,,,i dont see the problem...,,,
  14. Sorry Bryn,, I knew you did nt ,,,just couldnt resist having a little pop at ol,Parsloes ,,cause hes always having lttle pops at Len and Rye House...
  15. Should have been National League riders in my opinion this team will slaughter the usa if past meetings are anything to go by .Hope im wrong and this U.S .A Team is a big improvement. on previous sides, .Also dont agree with premier riders coming in and probably reducing the earning power of the national league boys and the yanks ,,They dont earn much to start with,,suppose it might put a few more on the gate though..Feel sorry for Shane and James to who have effectively lost a meeting ,,and the associated earnings
  16. Class is perminate,,having said that Charlie is not getting out of the gate at the moment,,Im sure he will get that sorted and then we will see him fly round Rye ...If Len keeps Melgren after Nelson returns (if and when? ) We will have a strong side,,But will he repeat last season s major mistake ?
  17. Its pissing down here in Basildon 11pm mon 28 miles from the track with 4 teams due to ride here today and further heavy rain forcast for this evening i recon Len did the right thing......and hes usually right with the weather....Meeting to be run now on mon may7th 2pm.. for the Rockets v Leicester ,,the Raiders match with Stoke to be re arranged.
  18. Agreed the top 4 in both teams are closely matched..The result may well depend on the tail of both teams,,,Both are long ,, but with Ben Reade riding at reserve as opposed to Luke Chessle being in the main body of the team,i feel Stoke may just prove the stronger ..However if Braddock can calm down a bit and remain upright he has the pace to turn that forcast around,, i hope so given time he has the makings ..hhhm....interesting..Now all we need is the weather to give the meeting a chance to take place....
  19. Take it from me there was a rut i saw it as i was working out on the track which was like a concrete road not grippy at all ..also discussed this with David Mason and Ben Morley after the meeting.......
  20. Raiders hung on to this meeting with a 5-1 in heat fifteen won by Ben Morley with Shane Hazelden tucking in for second Not as incorrectly stated on the Updates site ,with the result the wrong way round correct scores for the two were Shane excellent paid max 12+3 from 5 and Ben Morley 14 from 5 unlucky not to get a full max when he lifted when hitting a rut when leading round turn 1,,the same rut caused falls for David Mason a solid 8 +1 from 4 and Gary Chessell when comfortably leading heat 14.. He scored 3 from 4 ..and I.O.W s Marc Owen and team mate Ben Hopwood came together in heat 15 probably caused by the same rut.. in my opinion if this had been a Rockets match the track would have been graded, it is not good enough !! ...A good return from new boy James Sarjeant 9 from .4. he will fit in well..The tail however is long and the two reserves are going to need some time to ajust to this level of racing ,,Luke Chessel would be okay if he was riding at reserve where he would be in most other teams,,The I.O.W will not be the strongest opposition the team will face this season so its going to be difficult to get results at home ,and away even harder ...For the I.O.W Marc Owen showed plenty of dash and was worth more than his 9 +1 from 5 incl 4 from a T.R ,his gating however is still costing him points get that right and he will fly ,,the rest only had the odd moment and more could have been expected from one or two.....
  21. This meeting is threatened by rain on monday,,,Hopefully it wont be to bad.. Expect a slick track after the Rockets match which starts at 2 pm .Stoke may be wthout a star man possibly Birks.. ( Premier duty ) and i expect Adam McKINNA to be the replacement. in a top heavy side .. Raiders will be looking for their top 4 to produce the goods ,,with the new lads hoping to prove they are worth their places in the side ,against a weak looking Stoke bottom end,,...Should be an interesting afternoon ,....Raiders riding order 1 .Mason. 2 .Hazelden. 3 .Morley .4. Chessell .5. Sarjeant. 6. Braddock. 7 .Lee..
  22. Up at Leicster ,many think that is the worst track ,never been so cant say,,,, myself ive never seen a good meeting at Ipswich,,so i must have missed the good ones,, Same goes for Rye House occasional visitors...You just need to be lucky,,,Fact is you get good and bad meetings at all tracks....
  23. Are you raiding the piggy bank,?? Or do you have a secret sponser ?? Enjoy!!
  24. Phil as i could see it,,it was a challange against a Milton Keynes side .....Glad to hear it was the extreme cold that was the cause of the mass exit..After a tumble Braddock looked quite good in his last ride ,he has a bit of dash about him i like,,, just needs to calm down a little bit..Given time with Nick Lee looking tidy in practises the team may ride better than it looks on paper..Im more hopefull now anyway,,,,But the lads need all the support they can get,, please come Good Friday if you can ....
