  1. I think Bunyan and Lambert rode out of their skins at the end of the season to secure their places in the side ,Personally i dont see either maintaining that form over a full season, and have to agree with Shadders having Garrity at reserve at the start of the season would have been a big bonus..The team has to many question marks over it, and could have been stronger using the points available ... Hopefully these riders perform consistantly to the level Len is banking on....some are at least are very entertaining.
  2. Greg ,,no worries Ben,s dad is his mechanic ,,Rhys only helped out a couple of times ,a while ago...
  3. Ben Morley is keen to ride for Kent, so that is wrong info,, He is also looking for a premier league place so that may be the reasoning ... Len being abroad the full team may take some time to be announced ,, other suggestions on here may well be strong possibilities...
  4. Great to see Buxton back ,,lets hope the locals get behind their team and support the promotion the National league needs every club they can get if it is to continue in future seasons...
  5. Seeing as how the horse is the logo, i dont see how you can have Kestrals or Hurricanes or Bishops .. .Kent Colts would be a great name and fits ideally with the logo and young riders....Looking forward to the new season and wish the promotion and the team every success.....
  6. A 7 pointer third heat leader instead of Lambert and this would be a usefull side with some excitng racers as well ;;;Maybe hes leaving the door slightly open for Bowen to slide back in when he is fit ......
  7. While not knowing the ratio of elite league fans that also support the heathens at Monmore,,going Premier with extra addmission costs,, may reduce the numbers who can at the moment afford to support both teams? I dont know the facts but is it worth risking the tremendous support the Heathens presently have ?
  8. The costs of riding speedway are way beyond the means of the average youngster.... Fans do not seem to realise that holding down a job and earning a living, are not particuarly compatible with riding speedway at National League level..Hence the high drop out rate of these riders especially if they are going to struggle to make progress to the Premier League..If you can help any of these riders with sponsership ,however small ,then do so ,,all are extremely gratefull of any help, and it will give you an added interest in the sport....
  9. I think we will see a few changes from the last couple of years teams,, so start thinking of new possible riders..?
  10. Jason Crump ?? well our Jason wont be there !! Seriously would hope to see young Connor Coles back as a Raider has made good progress this season...Our Ben Morley,, hopefully could be his breakthrough season. he,s knocking on the door now !.,...Robert Lambert is of course the million dollar question ?????...If David Mason does decide to come back , and if Len wants him as his old hand,,,i hope he, would give it 100% commitment home,, and AWAY !......after that Mildenhall may have one or two usefull riders surplus to requirements ,would,nt mind Joe Jacobs or Danny Halsey back in Raiders colours..... and there are going to be a few more decent riders around not fixed up ..What about Lee Smart,,Jamie Pickard,,Kyle Hughes,, and a couple more i could think of,, any of them could make a come back to the league if averages fit..
  11. One wonders were engine development would be today had the powers that be, had gone down the Honda engine possibility of some years ago...By now i think we would have a much cheaper more reliable engine that would do an equivalent job,, and opened up possibilities of major companies being involved in the sport ..Costs must come down if Speedway is to survive.in the long term.... ...
  12. British only reserves one a 3 pointer at the start of the season ....Re run races except starting infringements.,, to be restarted in the positions they were in , when the race was stopped.....ie,, leader at tapes .,2nd placed on 5 yards ,,3rd placed on ten yards,, this would be a lot fairer to the riders and the teams......
  13. There are rules for every thing it does not make them all right ..The European union has rules that are killing this country do you agree with them just because they exist..???
  14. Decent crowd and the riders did well on a track that became more difficult as the night went on ,,Then those riders who attacked the track came good,, Bunyan (15 ,max ),,Lykke,, Doolan,,even Lambert did well in an entertaining meeting which won us the also ran,s cup ,,but Len was delighted and why not,, its been a difficult season,, but at least there are some good young riders on the books..We will have to see what comes out of the A.G.M before making educated guesses on next years line up, but it does look as if about 5 riders are nailed on..after Len made his little speech at the presentations..Jason Garrity winning both Mr Rocket and Mr Raider awards...and most entertaining rider..(forgone conclusion) award...
  15. A meeting some what spoiled by tape infringements caused i personally feel by the referee holding the tapes to long ( he is noted for it),, causing over heated clutches ,which in turn makes it difficult for the riders ..there were also a number of falls,, all of which caused the meeting to drag on. a bit. ..In between there was some good racing with the improved form of one or two Lynn riders tipping the balance ,for the result,,, which saved the league co-ordinater egg on face ,,should the Raiders have finished 3rd in the league had they took any points from the meeting..
  16. It is going to be difficult for the Raiders with RR for Hazelden and one reserve who will have to be carried ..A busy evening in prospect for Connor Coles i think.....However our top end of Garrity ,,Morley and Sarjeant are in good form and a match for any top 3 in the division at the moment... .Luke Chessell to is capable of decent points just needs to settle down and be smoother on the bends to avoid the falls that keep his average down. Depending on the form of Darren Mallet i think we can sneak a win against the young stars tonight... Hope all the riders have a good safe night
  17. Cityrebel,, i stand corrected of course i should have realised Rockets are not in the same league..Speedway farces occur of course in all the Leagues..
  18. Shadders your post suggest,s it was a farce in 2007, and still is in 2012 ..how many more years must this annual farce continue ....?
  19. Vog ,No i did not,, and no he did not, and yes Montie ,it may have been a financial decision how would i know ?,, I would not presume to tell Len how to run his club,, At Rye there is also the Rockets to consider it is harder for two team clubs to fit everything in especially with this summers weather
  20. Montie It Is not something you do questioning Len...If Len thought it could have been done ,,he would have done it,, He would have been very aware of the situation.... And yes everyone at Rye is totally p....ed off with the stupid rules in this league . Administered by Mr Morrish who creates farce after farce every season...
  21. The Raiders are now 4th in the league table, 3 points above Stoke and if we win our last match which is quite likely at Kings Lynn we will finish 3rd,,which will make a mockery of the play offs and the person in charge of this farce ,Mr Morrish ,,he must go...
  22. I believe Richard Franklin had problems with his only engine forcing him to give up at least for the time being That is what i heard but i cant garrantee the facts ,,It costs these youngster at this level a fortune to keep riding ,,, an engine failure can cost hundreds , and without financial support few could keep going...
  23. Some good racing tonight Though i thought three of Edinborough,s side flattered us a little,, they were useless... Despite an improved score tonight, still think Lambert was a bad signing and will not be here next season .. Garrity is pure box office ,,will not be at reserve much longer .Lykke will only get better,,And Melgren looks nailed on next season if he wants it ..Bunyan has done a reasonable job ,,does not win enough races ,,erratic gater,,not my personal cup of tea ?? Hope we dont go with RR for Bowen next season its been a weakness most of this year..Luke is part of the furniture at Rye any way so i guess someone would have to make way when he is ready to return....Would not mind Doyle or Doolan in the side both would make good captains if Chrs Heath does not return......Ben Morley has done well round Rye when called upon and still is open to improvement as is James Sarjeant.. Both will be knocking on the door for a premier place next season especially if new young brit at res rule was brought in hopefully ,,,The big question is Nelson ??????
  24. Raiders suffered a series of problems in the early heats but came on strong in the second half to run out winners by 49-41 Ben Morley was very unlucky in the Bronze Helmet match race against holder Ashley Birks when his bike died while holding a comfortable lead on lap two ..Jason Garrity 14 from 5. was excellent.... Connor Coles another solid display 10+1 from 6 ,,despite a nasty crash showed great character to carry on riding well ,,Ben Morley 9 from five including 1point for pushing his bike for over lap when his engine blew (expensive) while on a 5-1 with Jason in heat 15 ...James Sarjeant 7 an unlucky first bend fall restricted his scoring,, but a fine pass outside on bend 3 on Ashly Birks was the highlight of the meeting ..Shane Hazelden still looking to find the form he is capable of, scored a solid 6 from 4 inc a vital victory in heat 14... Luke Chessle had a disappointing night i think he was trying to hard on a very wide line leading to unnecessary falls ,1 from 3. Danno Verge a couple of gift points but struggles to stay on the pace at this level but good experience for him and with Conner going so well he can be carried for now ,did jump out of the gate a couple of times so there is improvement...Good win and showed we should have made the play offs under a fairer system..
