Shads i was more refering to the fact that had we had choice of gates in heat 15 the result of that race may have been different... I have always been of the opinion that choice of gates in heat 15 is far more important than race one ..I know Kennet likes gate 4 in the first race ,but the chances are that the opposition would pick one and three anyway,, they do most places...I agree about Grondal when he goes up to the top 5 they will not be as strong, ,met them to early in the season i think? -
Rye was under water in the morning but they worked like trojans on it and come the evening it produced some brilliant racing poses the question why could not Easty have done the same ....

Some very good racing last night,,excitement up to the last heat where in my opinion had Kennet picked heat 15 instead of 2and 4 in the first race the result may have been different -
Plymouth Vs Rye House (lc) - 15/04/16
waco replied to ellioth4's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done Rockets solid team performance...Kennet looking almost unbeatable so far,,,,This team must be surprising a few people on here. .Karger being given more rides than his form deserves obviously to try and get him going...At.the moment seems to have more speed than control hope that comes sooner than later. -

Hope all the lads make it to the track on time as this is a notorious venue to get to especially on a friday... Why fridays Plymouth ??,, no thought for those who have to get to this speedway outpost through horrendous traffic problems every week ....Having got that off my chest i do wish the new promotion every success ,,hope for a good meeting tonight and that all the riders stay safe....Oh and of course a Rye victory... -
From the updates it sounds as if there were some battle royals with the 3 heat leaders of Cradley, and Ben Morley ,and by all accounts a very good meeting ,, Luke Priest and Ben Hopwood doing all that could be asked of them,,We all know at Rye that we do not have a complete team that can win matches at present,,but changes are on the horizon which could well improve the situation..My worry is that the Rye fans may not turn out in numbers till things improve..Happy to know we put on a good show at Cradley....

Cradley should have little trouble winning this one,,Hope Morley ..Priest and Hopwood can keep the score respectable

Rye House V Ipswich Witches 9th April
waco replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I thought it was a good nights racing and the track is a big improvement on last year,,no blue groove ....Rye are solid at home at least, and pulling as a team .Peter Shroeck looks an excellent team manager encouraging the riders,, even greeting them all as they leave the track after a race .There is a freshness about the place that has the feel good factor,,The one problem is Kargers average ,,which even given time i can not see him achieving ,.but we will have to live with it according to the rules in place.. He is obviously frustrated with his form but trying hard to put it right ,,lets hope he succeeds ..sooner rather than later .. . -
An outstanding signing by Eastbourne, personally on this seasons form i think Ellis is way to good for National league. But he is still only a young lad and if the rules allow it good luck to him,, and the Promotion who are determined to give their fans a winning team ,and of course keep the turnstiles clicking...

waco replied to Baldyman's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
In think he is referring to the old stand, which looked like a temp stand but in actuall fact I helped to build it with Len SIlver in I think it was. In 1980 or 81 when i was the maintenance man at Rye..Hardly temperary it's been up at least 35yrs......... -

New seats are suppossidely going in but wether they will be in by sat i dont know,, the ledges are there to sit on, bring a cushion in case -
Ben91sure your calculations may be correct. but do the promotion want to release another rider to acommodate Branford ..who were you thinking of Heeps,,Lanham,,or Lykke ,,plus of course Karger.. And who would you suggest comes in??...

Lakeside V Poole Ela. 8/04/16
waco replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Kennet has been in great form at Rye,why are they not using him??? Surely he could replace Bridger ? -
If Karger was replaced and i dont see it yet ,he should be given time to improve ,,we would have 5 points to play with and Rob is not a 5 pointer at this stage of his career....

Brummies V Rye House Ko Cup 1st Leg Wed 6.april 2016
waco replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in National League Speedway
Few sides will get much joy at Birmingham this season so plus 30 points is not to bad.. Ben Morley wont have many off nights like that and all riders have them now and then ,there are usually good reasons,, that we do not take in to account,,On the plus side Luke Priest has started the season in cracking form ,and is probably exceeding expectations..There could be further changes shortly , so judgements on the team should be defered for now.. -
If Junior Fan is right and why would,nt he be,, there will be more complicated shuffles around to come in a couple of weeks ? Just hope the final side is a bit stronger to make us competitive for the fans sake,,..
-
..All sorts of speculation is now on the cards..
-
Interesting theory Shads presume that would free up points to strengthen the bottom end should that prove to be the case ..Have you heard something or is that a speculative thought,????? ---you are not obliged to answer that question..
-
On Bowen how the hell he can get into the National league on an 8+ average after spending his career in the Premier beats me , I know its about the conversion rate but come on, he should have come in on a10 + ,a realistic assessment of his ability at this level ,,obviously he will be in great demand as a guest until he gets a true average
-
Good signing, i think he is a Rye House asset anyway,,will fit in well with the other lads ,,,Does that now mean Woods will drop to reserve when the injured lad returns,, or is it him who can not be fitted in on the points limit any one know ??

Raiders V Kent Sun 3rd April ~ After Premier Match At 3pm
waco replied to waco's topic in National League Speedway
Raiders will have a very good top three when Branford arrives,,but even they can not carry a tail as long as that seen on sunday.the reserves do not look ready for competitive racing and i fear the fans at least will require a team that has some chance of home success to support...? Kent looking good for a play off place,,and nice to see the improvement in Danno Verge since curing his arm pump problem,And young Jack Thomas looking good for the future with a very nice riding style..
