TMW..yes seen it ..I hope it is the right move Jamie is reasonable. Out of the starts,,sits on the white line and makes less mistakes than some at his level..
-
With big hitter Luke Bowen and a fairly strong strength in depth,Kent side ,,this is going to be hard for Lakeside despite their own big guns Ben and Zack being in great form... ..Personally i am hopeing they may give Jamie Couzins a run out he knows the track and can hardly do worse than the reserves so far....Weather looks OK ,and i hope all the riders have a good ,safe meeting,,.
-
I would hardly call Ben Zack ,,David ,Alfie,,... amateurs at Lakeside. ..and god forbid Brennan got taken out of the equation for any reason..Eastbourne will look pretty mediocre, they need one big hitter like Jake Knight,,
-
Fantastic crowds at Lakeside and Eastbourne for two national league meetings ,,The problem will be at Lakeside maintaining them,,the quicker the middle order and reserves improve the greater the chances of maintaining a fair proportion of them..I thought the track at Lakeside was fine for this level of racing,, though the bumps entering the first bend need to be eradicated,,and the rakers ,,what there were of them need to put in more effort..And like all the meetings i have seen this year everywhere, could be run with a little more urgency,to keep the fans happy
-
The most important thing these days seems to be having one very strong reserve at all times...
-
Today has shown us that vast improvement is needed ,,a 3man team in both meetings.Ben and Zac plus David at home and Alfie at Eastbourne.i am sure George is a better rider than he has shown today and Alfie May need time to get dialled in at home..the reserves however are a real problem ..One is unlikely to improve, and the other is a long term project..
-
Ok Lakeside are very top heavy at home, and need Bowtell and hunter to improve,,Lawrence is what he,s always been a rock bottom grade rider so little improvement expected there..Mcdonald is a potential racer that can,t gate and shuts of on the straight s long before the bends..,hopefully Tatum can iron out these faults,,At present Jaimie Couzins is a better bet than either of these guys if you want points.... Of the young riders on show Eastbourne,s Tom Brennan stood out a mile...Tonight at Easty.we will need improvement from our second strings to stand any chance and thats if our heat leaders are still dominant.... Hope all the riders have a good safe meeting.
-
Looks like a weekend trial for Ryan Macdonald i hope he does well..I also hope they give Jamie Couzins a similar opportunity sooner rather than later...personally i think he would do better than Nick Lawrence ....
-
Cousins was the best of the team place riders, Mcdonald looked good going round the bends but was shutting right off half way down the straights,,What were they looking at??????????
-
Just got back from todays practise at Lakeside ,,Ben and Zak looked very quick ,Alfie looked smoother and better than i had imagined he would,,George was trying out a Gerhard engine ,which he looked to be having problems with.,.David looked ok ,as you would expect Nick looked to be having a few problems on the tight corners,.......Pick of those trying for the no7 berth to me was Jamie Couzins looked smooth and quicker than the others,, on what was a very bumpy track,,,hope they can sort it for the meeting tomorrow...Others having a spin were Shane Hazelden who i think will soon get a place somewhere if he wants it...And Paul Hurry who was flying....... Remember 1PM Start time Easter friday afternoon v Eastbourne... Traffic could be heavy so leave early to get there

Good post Mildenhall 1965,,.

Hi A J IS KING ,,Stoneman gave it a good go effort wise is prone to making mistakes on the bends and then straightens up,which cost him a few higher places in races,,Has the pace to improve and i imagine will go better on the wider bends at Kent,Needs to be more consistant at the starts but definately one that will improve during the season..
-
A long dragged out affair .countless falls ,,.exclusions ,, the ref failed to keep things moving at a good pace ,on a poor track ..There were one or two decent races, but the most enjoyable thing about the afternoon was the fish and chips the best in speedway ;Sorry thought i had lost my first post when editing
-
Some good moments today, But about75% of races had to be re-run through falls accidents ,tape infringements .A ref who failed to keep the meeting moving at a decent pace resulting in the whole thing dragging on.the track did not help which was poor in my opinion I would think twice about attending another meeting here this year.
-
Terrible track the inside half of the bends was like a babys bottom any rider who rode it was swallowed up down the straights ..Rye,s middle order is apalling,,Watt so slow .. is his bike any good ???..Harris going backwards as a top line rider .. and Robson not much better than Watt,...Perks a trier Nichols rides the track well ,,Kennet good when he wants to be, And guest Morley after a brilliant first ride,,missed the gate in his second and then not seen again till heat 14 where he had the coffin gate 1...Swindon rode well and deserved their victory 41 -49 final score
-
Having only 3 rides on a regular basis is going to knock the confidence of some of these 2 pointers,,,and some will become dissilusioned ,,to say nothing of their lack of earning power,,Personally i think having a 5 pointer and a 2 pointer at reserve is a bad idea to start with....
-
Cousins would be my pick of that lot,has some experience goes reasonable well round Rye so could suit Lakeside ..However you never know they might un earth a little gem on the day....
-
Great idea,, shame other clubs do not have the brains to think upon similar lines

Thanks AJ is king. Yes i am proud of my grandson Ben Morley,,he used to come to speedway at Lakeside when he was 12yrs old and keep on at me ;;saying i want to do,this grandad,,,, So for his xmas present when he was 14yrs old i bought him a ride and slide day at Kings Lynn where he was tought by Kevin Doolan,,and carried on since then ,,I am of course still hopeing there is more improvement to come to take him to the next level..Having being unable to take up the sport myself as a youngster due to a serious road crash on a motorbike,,It is a great joy to me that my grandson has been able to take up the sport that i love. and reach the level he has,,Looking forward to the new season at Lakeside...
-
Ben Morley named as Skipper of the Lakeside team for 2017....

All opinions should be respected even if you think they are wrong.....

I see the predictions are putting Lakeside in the lower part of the league standings, and we still have one more rider to go who,s to say we wont find another Jenkins before the start...Also Lakeside will be one of the most difficult tracks to ride for away teams, especially the many riders that will have had no expierience round our tight circiut .I would like to think the team will make the top half of the league without to much problem,on that basis alone...
-
There are and plenty of possible rapid improvers in the league this season,,and i think this will be the deciding factor on how teams finish this year.so on that basis i will sit on the fence and just enjoy the racing,,,,,,,
-
There is a shortage of young top end riders for this league ,,and teams need to use the strongest available riders,,However at the bottom end they should really be looking for youngsters to fill these spots.. It can be difficult to strike the right balance when the pot is half empty,,,,
-
Some one needs to teach Locke how to avoid throwing lockers entering corners which invariably see,s him sitting on his backside .more often than not. He has enough dash about him when he stays upright,,and just needs a good rider to help him to cure what he is doing wrong..Hope he can iron out his problems and have a better season at Kings Lynn ,,a track that should help him to improve,,,,.
