He gets paid and loves riding everywhere and still has many fans down there,,,,,,,But i will not be going to Kent this afternoon to support such a poor meeting...
-
What a rubbish meeting to put on,,who the hell is going to bother to pay to see just 12 heats of this,,with biased pairings to try and make sure Len,s all time favorite Bowen wins what ever trophy they are putting up ..
-
350 its going up from 250 as previously stated ,The crowd at Lakeside is spread right round the track plus the upstairs bar and appears less than it actually is,..George Hunter was a better rider round Rye last season and his form is a worry at the moment, Can not gate and he opened the throttle only once on friday and took two riders out ,,one his partner going in to the corner,,luckily no one was hurt...............
-
Excellent meeting ,plenty of passes on a well prepared track,,,It showed tonight that even the top teams,, if they have not experienced the track before will not be at their best,,Do not agree with the crowd figures it was considerable more than stated here ,,,it was freezing cold however ,that and the fact it was not a local derby as the first two matches plus the football, probably accounted for the crowd being down by about a third to a half,,,Ben and Zack were outstanding and the whole team fought hard for their points,,Young Bickley for Belle Vue looks an outstanding prospect,,Bewley however seemed to struggle with the track and i would expect a lot better on his next visit here,,
-
This could be a tough match against a strong Belle View side How will they adapt to the track ?Hope its a good safe meeting for all the riders
-
Could be the toughest home meeting of the season depending how Belle Vue riders take to the tracK...Dan Bewley if not riding in a higher league anywhere could be a real test of our top end ..Looking forward to a good safe meeting for all the riders........

Cardley V Lakeside 1/5/17 (monmore Wood)
waco replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
Do not think Lakeside will be as strong without Zack,,..I hope Greaves has one of his better nights,,This could go either way depending on individual performances some of which are a bit up and down at the moment,, and the state of the track,,being the second part of a double header.. -
Early days yet but no one should complain about a rider who has upped his average so far ,,yes David is not exciting to watch ,but many including me would have gone with Nathan Stoneman who has shown little as yet,, We will see what transpires with both riders as the season unfolds....Give them a chance.........

Not as keen as Len Silver,Ben 91
-
Looks like Kent have to pick between 3 reserves of similar ability shortly, the one left out could replace Laurence at Lakeside..
-
There was enough dirt on the track but there are no AJ,s that can ride it faster than the inside line at this level.the track staff worked hard to maintain the track in very good condition through out the evening..The racing was probably better for the minor places than the big guns out front,,,and i think most fans had an enjoyable meeting..,

Good meeting tonight on a track that was kept in excellent condition all night..Bowen rode well but not quite as impressive as his score suggests as after falling on the first bend and remounting,, Clifton fell later with Hunter running in to him,, Morley a mile in front and Bowen tailed off,, many thought a result should have been declared.,,but the ref called a re- run and Bowen got the better of Morley out of bend 2, and rode well in the re-run-..Though Kent fans would not agree,,Bowen also got away with a couple of jump starts later .depends i suppose on who you support..For the Hammers Hurry and Morley looked strong,,and there was some improvement on last week from the second strings,, Mason was steady without impressing,,While Couzins chipped in well to consolidate his position in the team... Laurence is what he has always been slow..Excellent meeting presentation from the announcer and the guy on the roving mike...Things can only get better with so many positives at Lakeside.......And of course we won again against Kent !
-
The excellent crowds at some tracks down here in the south will only be maintained if the standard of the meetings improves,,Better track surfices which have been very poor in many cases, and meetings run with a greater sense of urgency and efficiency are vital..so its largely down to the managements at all tracks to listen to the fans and give them what they want .!!!!
-
Hurry will create interest today and will be exciting to watch ,i for one am looking forward to it....
-
As far as Kent is concerned the top surface is the chalk base !!!!!!!!..But some shale can be found underneath the air fence,,I know i raked there for 3 seasons
-
North bound delays are normally caused by large vehicles awaiting escort through the tunnels and the traffic is stopped till they have gone through..
-
Islander last year it was very bad due to huge road works these are now completed and it is much better though hold ups can still happen sometimes
-
Paul Hurry replaces Zack who is on duty with Swindon and Jamie Couzins makes his debut at the lakeside track,,leave early to get there if you are coming through the tunnel,,Weather is ok ,,a good safe meeting to all the riders...
-
Paul Hurry was flying at press and practice ,,to have him available when Zack,s on duty with Swindon is a big bonus for lakeside
-
The White is chalk, which is common to use in the base..
-
Have not seen a decent track yet this season Lakeside was passable and heard Easty was ok..And no one seems to be bothered about running a slick meeting...In fact the word slick now means concrete bend. None of which does the sport any favours..
-
Well that was a nice surprise shows that when the middle order and the reserves chip in with some points you can grind out a good result..Well done the whole Lakeside team.....
-
Poor showing from Bowen over the weekend .some one tell me what went wrong as i find his score hard to believe...
-
I hope Ryan gets another chance,.. maybe at a track more suitable
-
I believe Ryan was told he was in for the two meetings. Then it was up to him to consolidate his position...After which. Kelvin would make a decision...which he has done..
