waco replied to Speedwaycrazy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Looking like a big home win..Rye have not won a race yet,,is this the same team that won so convincingly last night ? -
Lakeside V Mildenhall - Friday 25th August.

Under the circumstances this was a very good result for Lakeside and keeps our play off hopes alive...Still a poor decision to run on this particular night and more thought needed when deciding the fixtures.....in the future -

I do not see Bacon as any where near good enough to cover for Morley,s potential points ..I hope I'm wrong but I think the Hammers will struggle to get a result,Play offs. ,?????. -
Actually Ben Morley is a Rye House asset..still decimates the team he has been riding for all season though...
-
Looking a likely win for Mildenhall on friday ,,no way can they cover for Zack and Ben Morley i think they should have first call on riders signed at the beginning of the season ..Play offs will look less likely if they lose on friday,,which means a loss of more meetings at lakeside,,Costly for the club and the riders and a big turn off for the fans,,,,,,

Nail biting meeting could have gone either way. in the end Steve Boxalls cut out coming loose was the deciding factor in heat 15 ,when on a 5-1 with Ben Morley who rounded off another superb max at the track this time for Lakeside....However the 45-44 win for Kent may have been more if Adam Roynon had not had a badly off night ..,Very impressed with Jack Thomas an undoubted star of the future ,,and young Anders Rowe is coming on nicely...Lakesides bottom end however are pretty slow even at this level with Locke the most likely improver but needs to smooth out his riding style ,,Very enjoyable nights racing......
-
Should be a cracking local derby with i think Kents stronger bottom end the deciding factor,a decent crowd should be expected for this one,Will Bowen be back ,and how fit will he be to take on the likes of Morley and Hurry,??
-
Nice to see some positive posts on here for a change !
-
It is a shame they do not have a good track curator at Rye,s,,Since he has been gone the lads have done a good job at Lakeside despite there being less dirt than there was for Elite league racing which is understandable at this level,,
-
Superb meeting in front of a decent crowd ,,Eagles got off to a slow start but came back strongly to force a last heat decider, in which Ben Morley came with a great outside pass on Eagles guest Danny Ayers to round off a superb 15 point max ,.Paul Hurry passed Ayers two laps later to complete a 5-1 that denied Eagles a match point Score 49 - 41 ... Alfie Bowtell and Paul gave good backing to Ben with good team riding, in a match that had some really great races,in which guest JPB rode well for us, tried hard.. Though i think Zack would have scored at least double his 6 points....Connor Locke is starting to show good pace,,but his over locking caused by his jerky lean off the bike coming out of corners is bringing him to a near stand still ,,,cut that out and he could make good progress as a rider ...Track staff worked hard to keep the dust down..most enjoyable afternoon... Next home meeting is Frid 25th Aug against Mildenhall.......

Looking forward to this one should be competitive, but i expect Lakesides top end to prevail with Parkinson Blackburn guesting for the injured Zack
-
Good choice of guest sure to improve on his first appearance here at the last ,meeting ..Rapidly rising youngster..attacks the track well..Looking forward to seeing him again,......
-
Hagons top two boys Jason Edwards and Nathan Ablitt are flying round with times comparable to some races ,unfortunatly they are not old enough yet for the National league
-
Kent should have to much for Cradley this eventing.point of interest Morley v Ayers former best pairs champions..
-
Good team effort from the Lakeside lads,,though it has to be said the Brummies threw away a few points on the first bend..,.0ne of the best races of the season with Hurry and Parkinson Blackburn,re-passing several times ,Pauls track knowledge just having the edge,, One or two other decent races but many were well spread out and that is the problem with this league a huge difference in the class of the top riders and those at the lower end of teams ,but they all have to learn some where.i suppose,,...Despite the score line Zack was missed R/R,producing way less points than Zack would have scored....A brave move to hold this meeting with very bad weather reports certainly paid off,for Lakeside-Paul and Ben looking a class apart at home....But to their credit the Brummies battled hard all night on a track few had seen before....
-
tea boy,I was going on the fact that the new averages were issued putting Zack at no 1 ,,did not realise at the time that they would not be effective for this meeting
-
Not being able to have a guest for a 10 + rider is ridiculous ,how are you going to in any way cover that with rider replacement when a second string and at least one of your 3 pointers will have to replace him .it could cost us around 4 to 6 points ,another joke decision killing speedway,,...my opinion any way.......Is Ellis Perks available to sign and would he want too ?....And i did not realise the new averages all ready issued ,did not take effect till 1st Aug.....
-
Rider replacement for the unlucky Zack tonight which will undoubtably cost us several points and possibly lose us the meeting,,surely a top guest could have been found, ..Some fans may decide not to attend and who could blame them,,But the weather may still be the deciding factor....
-
It has been a while since the last meeting .hope we have a full side. And a good match...Personally I hate these big gaps between meetings...
-
Track was patchy tonight ,,Hurry,, Roynon,,Knight all had dodgy moments on it.....Williamson rode well for the Hitmen but had no answer to skipper Ben Morley who looked a class apart with an 18 point max ..The bottom 3 Lawrence ,Locke and Couzins all put in improved performances as the Hammers ran out winners by 50 --38 ,,could have been al lot more but for off nights from guest Roynon and Paul Hurry who i was told was trying out a Gerhard engine,.. and it did not look quick,,.The M25 was closed near the stadium which may have a bearing of the lower than normal attendance ,,The traffic jams were horrendous for those attending,, but to their credit all the riders made it on time ,
-
Should be an easy home win ,,But no Zack,,good guest in Roynan,...more importantly no Alfie Bowtel,l and no guest ! ..which means extra rides for the tail end.,,good for them,.. but not i feel for the quality of the racing,,,Jake Knight guests for Buxton,,Max Clegg on higher league duty,,Lets hope they can put on a good show and stay safe......
-
Bad news for most Lakeside fans with the bottom three having to take 3 of Bowtell,s rides....,Not a good move from the management as there are several possible decent replacements,,... Not me,,,but some may decide not to attend for that reason and who could blame them,as the entertainment value could be reduced considerably ,,They are obviously banking that Buxton,s tail will be even weaker than our,s ,,,? chancy that.......
-
is that supposed to strengthen them???
