Kent touch Tec Kings vs Wightlink Warriors
waco replied to teaboy279's topic in National League Speedway
People sit in the top of the stand because they get a better view of the whole track, plus.the terrible announcing system is a little bit clearer in the top tier..I do not think they would be happy if forced to move down.... -

,Well Kent were strolling this to half way,,IOW had not won a a race ,,with Wood and Morley both having bike,,engine problems ,,things improved for them as the night went on both these guys winning races as they usually do after sorting out the problems Ben Morley in particular started flying inflicting 2 defeats on the previously unbeaten Kemp ,in heats 13 and 15....The IOW middle order and reserves tried hard with the exception of Widman who poodled round miles behind all night, does not appear to be even trying,,,.But Kent ran out easy and well deserved winners in the end with all their team putting in a decent shift ,,and the celebrations at the end were great for their riders and the fans..... -

Looks a cracking meeting..with Wood and Morley ,now getting good back up from Verge .this could be close, But over all,,i think Kent will win the trophy -
A big confidence boosting performance from all the EAGLES......Lets hope that can lift them against tougher competition..best wishes to the two injured riders...Lewis and Kevin...
-
Good win for IOW with solid performances from the top end,and most of the middle order,,except Widman what were his problems tonight,,,any one who was there know the answer??
-
If everyone upped their game just a little,, and they are all capable of that..I. do not think they will have a problem......
-
I hope they have sorted the 4th bend riders having problems there.....

Brennan injured in heat 12',,,looking curtains for Eastbourne,,Every one hoping it is not as serious as they say.our thoughts are with the lad who has been outstanding for the team so far..... -
Ben Morley guests for Kent at no1

IOW had loads of problems on the night affecting the final score,,but good to see a top performance from Ben ,,,,and Verge and Widman doing their job well ,,,Verge particularly has done really well round the island of late,,, and the engine room is where the team need these improvements.....
-
Len had adverse cambers on the second turn as it affected visiting riders at Rye House ,giving home team advantage...unfortunatly here it is affecting the young home team riders..it must be changed before serious injury to some one..and possible track closure due to the accursed curfew
-
Some young riders having problems turning into the straight on the 2nd bend, deep shale at that point on the outside and a narrow track at that point with little banking,,probably the problem..it needs working on for sure..A number of crashes at that point responsible for another failure to beat the ridiculous curfew which can only drive away fans,,,Some good races though involving Alfie Bowtell,,the best I have seen him ride,,track definitely suits his style and as yet he does not have a national league place. He would do a great job here, that's for sure...A much slicker presentation is needed here to beat the dreaded curfew or the excellent support here paying top whack to get In May start to deminish
-
Riders do not critasize those that pay the wages in case they get quoted publicly .But the track needs sorting to assist some younger riders to avoid injury and to prevent delays affecting the dreaded curfew
-
The build up of deep shale on the second bend exit coupled to the narrow straight is a problem to mainly the inexsperienced young riders,of which there are several at kent ,,this needs to be addressed now before there is a considerable exit of fans due to the crazy short curfew ,,15 pound as well ,,,is too much for national league speedway with no senior citizen consessions...You can hardly understand the announcer in the stand,,the presentation should be much slicker ...The ref Cris Gay holds the tapes to long and always causes lots of starting problems that also eat up the time.....It all needs sorting,,this is of course only my opinion.......
-
See I am not the only one that thinks Widman has problems,,maybe mechanical I do not know, nice to see Verge putting on a much improved performance,I hope he can build on that....
-
Leicester.. looking the team to beat now..Off night for Eagles top two being the difference ,even with Lawsons bad luck in heat 15..he probably had difficulty holding the bike up with no footrest.....Lions top 3 ,with some help from the erratic Perks,,did the job...
-
Halfway through the meeting and Eagles top two not firing yet,,but Lions down to 5 fit riders may prove our saving grace but who knows this ones in the balance

Hoping for an Eagles win but keeping it close would be good..Wishing a good safe meeting to all the riders.... -
What is up with Wood and Morley ?? ..not looking good going into heat 15',,,,no real info on the updates
-
Saw the IOW at Mildenhall on Sunday...Great strength in Wood and Morley.very impressed with the battling efforts of the reserves, they should make strides this season...Same can not be said of the second strings who have made little or no improvement dispite,, several seasons of trying.Widman particularly trailing round at the back half the track behind,,for how much longer I wonder??..Hopefully I will be proved wrong by their performances at home to Plymouth

My fish n chips were fine..as was some of the racing,,on a smoother track than I have seen on other occasions.Very enjoyable afternoons racing....

EASTBOURNE v SOMERSET 13th April

Most riders eventually hit a downward trend..Harris hit his a while ago now..Nothing lasts for ever and speedway riders are no different.. -
Hopefully the improved track will continue and not revert to the state it has been in over the past seasons
