The track was very good,..unfortunately two thirds of the riders were not good enough to be riding in a professional league..the gulf between the top riders and the rest was half a track behind them,,this produces very poor racing,,the fans are paying good money to watch rubbish drawn out meetings. The standard needs to be raised or speedway will continue to die as a professional sport in this country......
-
After a very long hold up waiting for another Ambulance to take the injured young Max Perry to hospital,,the meeting then pushed on with some exciting racing none more so than Ben Morley,s brilliant passing moves in heats13 and 15....Alfie Bowtell broke the track record in heat 1 and went on to record another fine maximum....Joe Alcock recorded 3 wins .,two over the thompson boys in impressive stye to establish that he must now be considered as Kents 3rd heat leader....Danno Verge chipped in with a steady 6 points and these performances were enough to earn Kent a 50 -40 win over a strong Leicester side,,,the track was good today which helped to produce the entertaining racing this afternoon............
-
Good crowd,,excellent prepared track ,and some pretty decent racing for this level ..Kent have a decent side and as someone has already said there are a couple of riders that need to improve but most sides have the same problem..Mildenhall are one of the strongest sides in the league so on this showing i would expect Kent to be up there as well ,,Looking forward to the rest of the season,,considering the limited facilities they have at Iwade they are doing a good job in putting on an enjoyable afternoons racing...
-
Enjoyable meeting v Kent on sunday,, some great battles with the top end riders on both teams ,,and that includes Sam Bebee Tigers no 2,,,.Sam Woolley was solid at reserve for Kent,,but Kent had to depend on Morley and Bowtell for the bulk of their points,,so the second leg should be excitng and will probably go to the wire.....
-
Some problems with the air fence generator and the green light . but the main problem was with the ref failing to keep the meeting moving at a decent pace, which does nothing to maintain the support of the fans, who turned out in decent numbers to watch some reasonably decent racing at this level but the meeting took 3hrs to run,...Bowtell has improved hugely from a few seasons ago,has pace and now smooth round the bends,,Morley is,a top performer at this level,so we have great strength at the top end,,solid afternoon from Verge whos gating was excellent..Alcock was slow to get going today but judging by his performance at Plymouth could soon become a heat leader The lower order performed better at Plymouth so perhaps the track will take time to get used too ..For the Hammers Ablitt was impressive,as was reserve Ben Trigger and young Vinnie Ford battled hard all afternoon ,,So a decent start for the promotion ,but the presentation needs to be much slicker and a lot of that is down to the Referee,,......

Nice to see a solid all round performance from Kent ,,Looking good for an enjoyable season..
-
Expect some good racing from Gilks , Bowtell and Morley result depends on the lower order riders performances,,,,,There is a mistake on the updates site showing Bowtell with 5 rides and Morley only 3,,,,maybe someone can correct this?//

If Ryan Kingsley rides at Edinborough tuesday ,,then Ben Morley guests look forward to seeing Ben get some time on the bike, he has not had much lately,,,Looks like an easy home win on paper ,,but you never know for sure in speedway......weather looks good.....

Kent v Leicester tues 21st sept 6_30pm

As Ruckeroo says the meeting rushed through to accommodate the end of season doo in the bar after,,,,,,,Kent consistently out gated by a strong lions team..but no track grading and watering to assist the likes of Nicholls and Batch to overtake ,,The fans go for the racing and tonights was spoilt ,,, it seems the after meeting activities were more important than the meeting itself,,,this is not what the fans expect !....Shame the rest of the season has been enjoyable tonight i was just annoyed the way it was run -
Tough one tonight on probable the last meeting at this level at kent this season,,,,,good competitive racing is what we have come to expect at Central Park this year ,,and i have no doubt that we will get more of the same tonight,,,,Wishing a good safe meeting to all the riders,,,........

07/09/21 1830 Kent v Scunthorpe (Champ)
waco replied to Old Crusader's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Brilliant meeting,,Scunny doing most of the gating early on with Nichol outstanding ,,i do not consider he was rolling most of the time just lightning reactions ,,the track got dry and dusty and the grading and watering was left to long,,but after it was done Kents racers came into their own and dominated heats 12, 13 and 15 ,,Heeps and Mulford getting a usefull 3 all in heat 14 ..Scunny put on a battling performance,, the best visiting performance since Kent signed Troy,,,, but when the track was improved so did the Kent riders ,,few can live with Batch and , Nicholls around here when the track is right ,,, ,,A great 5/1 from Gilks and Morley in heat 8 was vital in the eventual result ,,,, Starke was solid as usual..And, those present witnessed one of the best meetings of the season ,,,..Who ever you support ...... -
Superb track,,,Exciting racing,,,Good crowd in ,,,Well run ,,,Late surge by the Kent boys to get a result ,,What more could the fans want ,after last weeks debarkle caused by ref Barbara Horley,s refusal to let the track be watered properly,,especially on the outside before the meeting,,so she knows more about track prep than Len or Jamie then ,,joke .!.... lets hope we do not get lumbered with her again,,,..Nice to see Cameron Heeps hitting something like his true form and an excellent meeting from Jack Thomas for Brummies who were basically a three man team,,Dont miss another great Speedway meeting next week...
-
Len knows you can not afford to upset the fans especially in the currant climate of tracks closing down so you can almost garantee he will give track prep his best attention,,,And,,the sport needs every fan it can get at the moment ,So,i am pretty confident the track will be back to its best this afternoon and another top class meeting will be witnessed.......

kent v Newcastle tues 24th aug 6-30 pm
waco replied to waco's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Riders were not happy with the track which caused the start to be delayed half an hour,,So now it was a race against time to beat the ludicrous curfew ,,A few riders tried the normally fast outside line to no effect so the match became follow my leader round the white line,,,,,there was no time to grade and water the track and a huge blue line developed on the inside.....This was the only bad meeting of the season so far ,,ok we won ,,but i go there to see exciting racing and this was not ...where the fault lies i do not know but once again speedway shoots itself in the foot ,,and a few more lost fans the we can do without in these difficult times for the sport we love.........
