  1. No mention of it on Glasgow's website, no change there then!
  2. Thats a good point as he is such a popular rider that people are less likely to direct criticism but at times this year there have been more EF's on the road that Justin Elkins, mainly when having missed the gate. However he does have a positive influence on the younger team members. Campton said in a previous interview that Screen was a draw for him signing at Glasgow, however there seemed to be an issue with him and O'Malley. Tempting a No1 heatleader to come north of the border is more than difficult, perhaps we should just be grateful for what we have got.
  3. Been trying to do that all season to no avail, EL clubs haven't got the cash apparently. There's also the issue that its widely known Glasgow are on the brink of survival and thats hardly likely to bring in competitive bids.
  4. Thats true, Josh has been pretty poor this season, the last few weeks apart, and will finish it on roughly his starting average. Joe Screen said in the piece for the Pairs in Speedway Star that he may be concerned about still having the metalwork in his leg but only he will know. I also don't think he helped himself by choosing Belle Vue to double up with. Next year will be his sixth season in British speedway, a change of track may do him good otherwise he looks like becoming a younger Wethers type rider. Nothing wrong with that, just that he showed great potential prior to being injured in 2011. Good points, though I think we need to go into next season with a startling reserve. Another O'Malley won't do. I would take Bager anyday on his current average, he gets points home and away. I have my doubts that Campton wants to come back having read his Q & A Twitter posts on the Tigers page a few weeks back, less than complimentary but not necessarily untrue. He also seems popular with one track he has been guesting for. Can't see Edin letting Pijper go either, fantastic second string who also keeps the travelling expenses down, but would take him in a shot. In the end if we are running that would be great but also for the new owners to get off to a successful start. Riding on a Sunday afternoon at Ashfield isn't my favourite either as it regularly clashes with the football and the inevitable traffic congestion. A return to Friday nights would be my choice, floodlit speedway is excellent provided you can see more than the riders helmets . But we don't currently have floodlights and they are costly to install, so it may be Sunday afternoon's after all.
  5. Wouldn't . Its pathetic though that his registration has still to be decided. Would take him back at Glasgow in a flash assuming we are running next year, and Barrett as well after an impressive showing last week.
  6. A welcome 3 points for Glasgow in our final home PL fixture but was ruined again by the forecast rain. Had it stayed dry the Bandits would've taken us all the way as they got stuck right in, Jacobsen and Morris apart. Barrett, Aspegren and Alden all looked comfortable sweeping wide and fast on bends 1 & 2 and Alden cutting back on turn four chasing the Tiger in front. I could watch that all day and would happily have lost a home win and the rain to see it, now that the top six is out of reach. Sitera continued his miserable run, twice breaking a chain but Lawson was an excellent replacement for Screen with 14. Just a couple of away matches now to finish off the PL season, a guest for Screen may be a tough choice at Armadale on Friday with quite a few matches on.
  7. Currently overcast but dry and humid. Pleasant conditions for watching speedway if the rain stays away!
  8. The return of Nick Morris makes it more attractive, though again we need to be scoring right from the start, especially if Screen is missing. We also need Sitera to move up from his 125cc engine of last week. Home win likely unless Barrett and Aspegren turn out to be top drawer! Hopefully we will hear tomorrow what is happening regarding future fixtures and 2013. Richard Lawson in for Screen and r/r for Bager.
  9. Thats true and its also now the same price to get into Ibrox as it is the speedway. Food for thought on admission prices. Hopefully the sale of the club goes through sooner rather than later. If the uncertainty continues into the winter our decent riders like Screen, Josh etc will look elsewhere for a home track in my opinion. Screen's programme notes today touched on the unknown future. There may also be the issue of a new promotion being an unknown quantity and riders being less willing to come. Hopefully we will have a positive outcome soon.
  10. Definitely not the best meeting today but a win all the same. Sheffield petered out when the excellent Wells started to fade although the hard working Schramm at reserve featured in a few decent races. For once Josh was on the money after a relatively poor spell though Sitera was truely awful being beaten twice by McKinna. The reduced entry didn't temp the masses but did look better than previous weeks against not the most fancied opposition. Berwick next week in out final home PL match, then who knows after that!
  11. There goes the play offs then, like it was a realistic prospect! Can't believe Mudgway got paid 6, a couple more points from Bager and Graczonek could have gotten us a point. Never mind there's always next year. Or is there .
  12. Sitera is riding for his Czech club on Thursday according to the excellent unofficial Tigers site. We should actually just call it the official site cos the proper one isn't exactly reknowned for its updates .
  13. Out of interest how many Sunday's has he ridden in Poland?
  14. The weather ruined this one, despite only starting at 3pm, it never stopped and the track became worse as the meeting wore on. Taylor Poole looked fairly poor, perhaps not even fit although the lovely Christina in the box gave him every help possible with 3 goes at ht5, despite having fallen on his own at the first running. Tungate too didn't look too clever in his first ride, although then being withdrawn with sore baws you can't really blame him! Its another 3 points on the board for Glasgow if anything. Interesting news during the match that an offer was made for the club last week, but not accepted. Glasgow also seem to have to find a significant amount of money by the end of the month to pay back creditors for the track alterations last year. Could be a long month!
  15. Another tough one, hopefully as exciting as Somerset last week. I don't think Ipswich will be a strong as Somerset though we have to get going right from the start. Josh conceded two 5-1's in his first two rides last week, hopefully someone has had a word for this one. Mason also can't be any worse than last week though the Witches may just take a point.
  16. Perhaps only if he were to save the track from closure. He did isolate quite a few people along the way with his antics. Reading the press release perhaps a new buyer or buyers has already been in talks and this is the first stage to making it public or trying to push it along. Peter Waite did the same when he was finishing up with messages of last chance to save the club etc etc.
  17. Thats painting a pretty picture for those who weren't there. Despite the scoreline Plymouth were never in the hunt and were gifted points when Campton came off in ht12 when on a 5-1 with Grajczonek. Glanz on his last visit scored 4+1, including two last places. Hardly match winning and he would have been unlikely to beat Campton on current form.
  18. Been there the last time Rusty retired and I'm sure he never saw out a month. However he would be far better than the misfiring Sitera however I doubt averages would allow as it would also mean dropping Mills and bringing in a 3 pointer.
  19. Got a broken leg in 2005 when with Edinburgh and a serious knee injury in early 2010 that keep him out for almost 2 years. If he can gate on the small track that Plymouth is he should be fine. Bowden says he is looking for a couple of points a match and even in his poorest ones for Glasgow, Robert was still getting that. Maybe a fresh venue is just what he needs.
  20. And the rule in 2006 that reserves stayed as reserves all year. His performance and that of Kauko Nieminen helped Glasgow achieve their highest PL placing to that point.
