  1. Perhaps it is Compton to go, he was signed initially on a 28 day contract which must be up about now. Hopefully we find out over the weekend.
  2. Not necessarily, we are quite poor at reserve, depending on averages could drop one of Ringwood or Jacobs, sending Raun to reserve, however the rider coming in would have to be scoring from the off. Realistically though it will be a replacement for Raun. Still struggling with no home match for 3 weeks when the weather is glorius.
  3. Time to accept it and move on. It could be worse, you could have signed a rider, got him to do the required number of matches to gain an average and become an asset, who then signs for another club the following season and the BSPA then make him their asset
  4. Its his first full season at PL though. He is at the inbetween stage of racking up big scores in the NL and doing little at PL. A few decent scores for Glasgow in the coming weeks would be welcome!
  5. Why does Joe Jacobs not also fit into that? He was excellent in April banging in some decent scores and looking quick but since then has done nothing. I expected him to do well down at Ipswich but never and other than ht2 now, isn't pulling in many points. Oh, and its also gone quiet about his full transfer ! Was good to see so many new faces in the travelling support, a sporting crowd spread right round the stadium rather than just the fourth bend and contributed to a great atmosphere in the sunshine. Hopefully it means the old school moaning brigade who haven't been seen for years at Ashfield have been replaced and can herald a new era of sporting rivalry that has been missing between the clubs for some time. You may just need to give us a decade to put a decent team together.
  6. 42-48 is not the worst it could have been however even with Glasgow chucking away points with Screen in ht 1, though cancelled out by Vissing in ht15 and Raun gifting the Monarchs a 5-1 in ht8 they were always going to be winners. Despite Mitchell Davey failing to score, Glasgow's reserve's only scored in ht2 then registered 7 last places, something you cannot do at home and expect to win. Fricke was pretty decent all afternoon especially coming off the inside line and Cook was in a league of his own. Bager had his best meeting for Glasgow whilst Raun looked pretty poor. With no home match for 3 weeks I do wonder how he will manage to improve. Friday night at Armadale will be a slaughter.
  7. I know but surely we shouldn't have to wait until Friday lunchtime. I'm predicting Monarchs by 12 unfortunately.
  8. 48 hours to the match and still no press release. Is normal service being resumed? Do any new fans have to guess who is riding?
  9. Ashworth hasn't ridden for 2 months and doubt he could get back into the points quickly, its going to be hard enough with Compton and Raun. A new signing though to use our full points would be welcome, however which position is best to use them. We have misfired in each position, even Screen has been inconsistent, JG has taken a point off his starting average, Bager has been truly awful in the main, and they are the experienced riders. If we do sign a heatleader it will likely need to be a doubling down rider who will score from the start and finding one of those to ride on a Sunday is .......................
  10. Well we hit 30 and Ringwood now gets an average, other than that .................................
  11. FFS, Armadale rules apply - hitting 30 is success and we couldn't even do that. Two race winners all night is pathetic.
  12. If Barrett rode other tracks as well as he does Ashfield it would transform Berwick. As it is they seem to have gambled all their chips on Kennett leaving them weak at reserve with another 3 pointer. Last week at the individual event it was the same with Grieves, often first to gate but third into the corner. We really need to smarten up here. Hopefully Ringwood is ok to do the 2 away matches this week that will finally get him an average, his trip to the fence was a hard one.
  13. Phenomenal meeting today, best visitor to Ashfield this season by a mile.
  14. The injustice of Bellego's registration comes back to dig us in the ribs once again, his progress seems quite spectacular, much like his scoring today. The Bandits top 4 scored all but 2 of their points, winning 10/15 heats in the process and consigning Glasgow to another home defeat. Compton looked a little nervous in his first home match but will settle no probs whereas Raun was a bit wild, regularly scraping the fence on the second turn but never lacked effort. Looked like he was going to come out and practice after the meeting. Next week's visits to Ipswich and Scunthorpe may prove 'challenging'!
  15. He doesn't need to be better than before, 5 points a match is fine compared to James Wright's 0 or 1. He might also try if he doesn't make the gate compared to James Wright. He might look interested compared to James Wright. Get the drift?
  16. You obviously never watched James Wright this season. Compton will definitely do as a third heat leader, he looked hungry today after an iffy first ride. Will make us a bit more solid. Hopefully he goes in at No4 as we have been woeful in ht14 recently. We will wait and see tomorrow who the un-named Scandinavian is, now that Horwood is heading home.
  17. Hard to make team changes when Ringwood being injured means he is still 2 away matches from achieving a proper average and still sitting on a 5.00. Depending on how Horwood is, he may now have an injury which will keep him out possibly meaning further changes. We all know there are few riders out there, even fewer who are available on a Sunday. Its all going a bit flat, hopefully some positive news during the week.
  18. Two team changes for this weekend apparently. Find out tomorrow.
  19. Therein lies part of the problem for the new owners of being a Sunday track. They will be acutely aware that the lack of rider availability on a Sunday is a major threat and tried during the close season to change to a Friday night which was refused. The sooner we can do that the better and have a wider choice of riders to choose from. As it stands we are likely to have to pay through the nose to get anyone half decent, and the new owners have said they won't break the bank for riders. We'll just have to wait and see. With r/r for Wright only Grieves above gets an extra ride, the rest are a bit of a lottery.
  20. Do we have a 28 day facility for with holding services? That would give r/r until the 2 away matches are completed for new averages.
  21. A common sense statement that communicates to the fans the difficulty in making changes until the new riders have received averages in a couple of weeks. Until then Wright and Bager we should have motivational chats as to their current unacceptable form. Onward.
  22. Henning has been poor virtually all season. His lack of form has unfairly pushed Ringwood to No4 where he is struggling big time, especially ht14. Ringwood at least deserves a shot at reserve. James Wright only rides the run to the first corner and needs to be replaced asap. To stick with him will drive fans away, just as signing RKR at the start of 2012 did in my opinion. The new green sheets have the new Aussies still on 5, their spare 4 points will be very useful. The press release from the promotion is refreshing and recognises there is a problem. To deny there is would be folly.
  23. All is forgiven with Fisher. He was a pretty popular visitor guesting for and against us over the last 2 seasons, but you would have to have been there to know that. At one point pre-season I thought he may have been a potential signing for us judging by some of the riders twitter feeds. Right now we just need a rider or 2 with a bit of mettle to steady the ship, get some decent points and save us from Wright and Bager riding like juniors.
