  1. At the end of last season Glasgow looked dead and buried so it seems logical Ringwood wouldn't have re-applied for a work permit when he didn't have a club. Others can judge the likelihood of him getting one however it would be beneficial to Glasgow that he does return and build on last year.
  2. Yes, but the money ran out, about May!
  3. Not really a surprise, made a massive loss. However he should be thanked for stepping in and saving the Tigers when it appeared no one else would and for putting his money in to do that. Same applies to Gordon Pairman for doing it 12 months later and we can enjoy speedway in Glasgow for another season. That's if it ever stops raining!!
  4. You can't turn a Fiat into a Ferrari!
  5. The system is changing to stop the immigration free for all of the last 15 years. Unfortunately some speedway riders are caught up in it. Those switched on to the new changes aren't. The Commonwealth is meaningless and has been for some time as we become more aligned to the EU, whether we like it or not. Its a massive blow for Ringwood as he needs to build on a decent second hlf of last season. If the others are a precedent we won't see him this year.
  6. Looks like Lemon will only miss Berwick away when the World Cup is on. NL guest for us that night unless of course an old injury re-appears!
  7. Edinburgh's biggest loser will be replaced by Tabaka at the first set of averages.
  8. A decent signing to finish off a decent looking team that will hold its own at home. Hard to take the negativity on here, compared to the sh1te we were served up last year its eutopia.
  9. Chipped 1.5 points off his average in 2013, time was right to retire.
  10. Ah yes, the small hamlet in West Lothian as it was quoted!
  11. True, it also did say previously Ringwood was in.
  12. In that case it would have to be a 5.00 assessed rider. It was all going so well too! Perhaps it was Ringwood that stalled everything, though I really wanted him back. No point bringing in an assessed 5 pointer who finds his feet over the season then doesn't return to build on that the following year. If HB is to sign he needs to sort himself out. I'm sure I read in the programme he bought Peter Juul's equipment to use during 2013 and it showed. Would still go for Lemon and a 3.5 ish rider.
  13. No chance, he started at Glasgow around 1999 or 2000, had a decent first season but all went downhill from there and we moved him on to Trelawny I think. Don't remember him ever having a decent score at Ashfield and crucially never rode during 2013.
  14. Agreed, Berge is the gamble rider that you just won't know how it'll work out. At this stage I would go for Mark Lemon on 6.44. I've got no problem with him, he would be a second string, no pressure of winning the big heats and he knows all the tracks. As long as he maintained his average you couldn't ask for more than that from him. That would allow us to retain Ringwood who we bred last season. He has the speed and style to win races just needs more aggression.
  15. Tully on 7.19 would have offered very poor value, leave it to someone else to take the hit. I keep wondering what has happened to Kauko, no mention of him anywhere however his 7.25 couldn't be accommodated with Ringwood by 0.15. Josef Franc would be a decent rider without the pressure of being No1 however he has a habit of missing many UK fixtures. Tough one this! Average is 7.37 which means we couldn't fit in Ringwood as well.
  16. The last time Rusty rode for us in we binned him after a month. Loyalty in speedway is two ways!
  17. First set of PL averages, Morris will have a team place.
  18. Unlikely as we already have an untried 5 pointer. More than 1 assessed rider at Glasgow usually spells disaster, like 2013.
  19. Are we assuming that Ringwood has been signed but not announced? Hard now to find a final rider if he has. Still not seen Bager announced elsewhere!
  20. Fox might do ok at home being used to the small tight tracks over there. Just look at Fisher when he first signed for Edinburgh. The Monarchs have a long middle order of 5 point riders but that is the trade off for having a 10.5 rider in the team. The first set of averages could be interesting.
  21. Vissing signs for Berwick. Could it be Wethers for us along with Ringwood?
  22. Don't remember Berge getting an average with Berwick
  23. Of which there aren't nearly enough, the vast majority aren't good enough and those that are won't travel beyond their own doorstep. The Australians on the other hand supplement the PL because there aren't enough British riders and generally have no ties to a geographical area, meaning they will travel where they can get a team place.
  24. Sedgman is either a potential master stroke or reason for a stroke. In a strong team he will do well when there is no pressure on him. An interesting season ahead!
