  1. Poor refereeing from the Dishcloth. Instead of waiting till things were getting out of hand with riders delaying the start he should have nipped it in the bud early on by warning all riders then excluding the piss takers. Scunny riders were warned 4 times for jumping the start. In ht15 I think the ref got frustrated with how long it took for the riders to line up, he put the green light on for a split second and sent the tapes up. Klindt wasn't ready, remained stationary and presumably was excluded for failing to race, though got his just desserts.
  2. I'd forgotten about Joey Ringwood. Unless he's been riding regularly in Oz this year, I don't know if he'd be worth another go. He got going at the end of 2013 but took two thirds of the season to do it.
  3. Wolbert blew up on the line in ht15, what you get from him is anyones guess. Birks couldn't be any worse than he was tonight, it may not be all that bad!
  4. Scunthorpe were pi$$ poor, I thought we'd get thumped. Rusty was really on it tonight, must've had points money to make up from Saturday. Even with Palovaara scoring only 1, Glasgow were never troubled probably because his opposite number only got going in ht11 and Birks was exceptionally poor, gaining his only point against Glasgow's new boy. Douglas, Howe and Jorgensen were solid. A decent team with a strong top end will put us to the slaughter, whether that applies to Newcastle next week, we shall see.
  5. Scunthorpe will have this down as an away win so should be a good one. David Whye at reserve should be a trump card and Jorgensen also. Got no points expectations from the new boy. What we get from our wildly inconsistent middle order of Wolbert and Thomsen is debatable, just hope the team manager is back tomorrow, a few cages need rattled!
  6. Four zeros for Palovaara. Whilst nothing can be taken from riding a soaking track in very poor conditions, that'll get his average down nicely to start! Hopefully he doesn't have a repeat on Monday night!
  7. Wolbert and Anders would have to be the most inconsistent pairing ever. We are still waiting on last years hot prospect Anders to deliver. He may have had some reasonable reviews on the road but I didn't see them, and only 2 home meetings this season stick out. Its time for him to stick some serious points on the board with regularity.
  8. Its also another air fare for Glasgow to pay out that they would'nt have for Henry. The absolute lack of interest on here speaks volumes.
  9. Another 7 point assessed rider. Glasgow don't have a good track record of unearthing diamonds in these type of riders. Hope it all works out and that he can get a proper average by the end of the season. Pijper to No5 then Wolbert possibly reverting to No2?
  10. Whatever happened to Terry Lindon? Wasn't David Walsh also a part of the 1991 side?
  11. The last time I recall we had a 6 pointer going out at No1 was the season Parker got injured and we expected Trent somehow to step up as the second averaged rider. He tried valiantly too. The Henry situation is nothing but a disaster, just like our season!
  12. Smugness personified. Any chance of keeping posts relevant, I don't care for how many away wins other clubs have had and its ensuing debate.
  13. Of course he will, Glasgow have had 2 months to sack him and haven't. I don't doubt they have tried to source a replacement however he's in for the duration. As for Henry let's go with r/r, no point in a repeat of yesterday.
  14. I don't detect that anyone believes Wolbert is deliberately lowering his average, just that Edinburgh will more than likely be the benefactor of his appalling season at Glasgow. I doubt his average will even be 7.5 now, a steal for Edinburgh next season SHOULD they decide to recall him.
  15. Wolbert will get a max at Berwick, for every rubbish meeting there is a good one. Colin Hamilton must have the most poisoned chalice in British speedway. The club doesn't make money, has to re-schedule numerous rain off meetings on an alternate race night which will run at a loss, needs an underperforming No1 replaced against a backdrop of falling crowds after another home defeat.
  16. Wolbert is a known quantity in that you don't know what your getting each match and his score is no surprise. What is frustrating is Henry, last week r/r for him got 10+1 and a similar points return today could have had a completely different outcome. Surely he had a practice last week before confirming he was fit.
  17. Oops, never fails to happen, a nowt special opposition rolls up to the Ash and takes full points. Berwick have a habit of doing it though as I wasn't there were Berwick that good or Glasgow that poor? Whilst all the flak will be thrown at Wolbert, it seems Henry should share in that, if you are not fit don't come back. We were doing perfectly fine with r/r and don't see Glasgow putting him under pressure to return. That must only be his second home match since signing 7 weeks ago and to think Lemon is looking like turning the corner with Redcar now. With it being August next week make no mistake Wolbert will be there!
  18. Will Edinburgh accomodate an 11 point rider every season? He's a great rider who needs to make the move abroad. He has seemed overawed in the EL matches I have seen him in by some of the riders around him. Perhaps its not bikes but psychological and he needs a top rider to guide him to the next level.
  19. Its not like Anders to fall off for nothing! He carried too much speed on the backstraight chasing Rusty and lost it on the corner despite being under no pressure from Sheffield who had their reserve pairing out. Its becoming tiresome how many points he chucks away whilst also getting injured. Result was never in doubt today, a fairly lacklustre and drawn out meeting. Sheffield were poor apart from Stead and Compton. Lanham got a shocker in ht12, maybe he had a bike issue but catapulted into the fence at speed. Its another welcome 3 points, and hopefully we will have a full 1-7 next week, that's if Anders can remember not to race his team mates.
  20. A hard match to predict, with all the rain offs Glasgow have had an inconsistent run of home meetings, the last being 3 weeks ago. Its hard to judge Sheffield, they have the potential to spring at surprise but also to do very little. Hoping Lanham manages to stay upright in any contentious heats. Match could depend on which Wolbert shows up!
  21. Three points from Wolbert tonight would have got us a league point. Frustrating after last night.
  22. Or maybe not, standard inconsistency resumed at Plymouth!
  23. Typically a team makes changes when Glasgow are due to visit. No doubt James Wright will ream off 3 or 4 heat wins when he was mince for us in 2013. Better have an over supply of spare tapes if its normal service to be resumed.
