Sarjeant is the key for Glasgow, you pretty much know what you are going to get from the rest. Despite his big scores in the EL I have my doubts that Armadale is his kind of track. He also gets a big twitchy so a rerun in ht2 is virtually guaranteed. He and Victor are going to be busy covering their own rides plus 3 for Kozza r/r and likely Berge's fourth ride. Lawson is the rider above Kozza in the averages. Likewise Riss the same for Edinburgh, covering Branford's fourth ride and potential reserve changes for Clegg. When Edinburgh were last at Glasgow they picked up too many last places, that will be the main battle ground on Friday IMO. Hopefully Sam behaves himself and Dishington doesn't ruin an excellent meeting. -

He'd be grounded if i was! Seriously though he needs supervising, its not like there were any contentious decisions to make, he didn't even get the basics right. Hope he's not been allocated to Glasgow again this Sunday. -

You are right, if it doesn't work don't use it. Nothing personal against Bryan. -

What an absolute apology of a speedway meeting today. It was never going to be a classic with Scunthorpe arriving with 2 guests plus r/r and Glasgow r/r for Morris, and one of the poorest referees in speedway. The tapes issue was farcical, again, why we waited to reinstall the old ones is anyones guess, could have saved us 30 minutes just running the elastic. Having been kept waiting for 60 mins already any referee with an ounce of interest in the sport would have pushed the 2 minutes on straight after each heat other than those with riders having 2 in a row, not the dishcloth. To add insult he never once put the 2 minutes on straight after a false start and allowed the riders to come and go as they wanted from the pits when they should have been disqualified for leaving the track. Ht14 he awarded second to Palovaara who was last when Lunna was wiped out by Ben Wilson. Totally incompetent. I'm not a huge fan of Jim Sarjeant he's a younger version of James Wright who anticipates the start and gets away with it more than not. He will get found out in long term but today he irked me once again by jumping early and causing the racing to be delayed. Carl Wilkinson is next to get it, having blown his only engine on a TR ride he then did not appear for his third ride. Is he so unpopular with his team mates no one would lend him a bike, even supposing he trundled round at the back to avoid damaging it. Thoroughly unprofessional! A van pulled out of the track as Kozza was being transferred into the ambulance at ht9, I suspect I know who it was. Next up is Brian Copeland doing rider interviews from the pits. A great filler in the many voids however if the portable mic keeps cutting out FFS give up with it and get it fixed, don't do any more until you know it works. Persevering with it today only served to rile the already pissed off punters. Best wishes to Kozza after a nasty crash, a total racing incident where he was injured from the bike flying in behind him. Richard Hall did well to get himself down as quickly as he could. No doubt Kozza's many detracters will be on here shortly spouting forth when they weren't part of another healthy crowd, at the start anyway. Plenty needing sorted before the professional moaners arrive next Sunday, 3 hrs 10 mins for a meeting is not on. -

Hope the tapes are double checked just before the start, r/r for both sides will make it long enough. -

Let the reverse psychology begin. With the 0131's tendency to big up even the poorest visitors to Armadale each week, heaven knows what we'll get for next Friday. -
I'd give shorter odds on Garrity.
-
He has a habit of that! Seems a decent return for Kozza, hopefully he is starting to turn the corner. Onward to Plymouth tomorrow night.
-
A tough meeting for Glasgow though hopefully Garrity is true to form of this week, knocks off a team mate, goes for a pass that is never on and gifts us a couple of 3 rider races we might sneak a point. This meeting will put into perspective how we should have tried much harder at Newcastle 2 weeks ago!

Could see what Lasse is up to that night! Looks like Sarjeant will be available though with 2 away matches next week it could mean he gets his average and moves up to the 1-5. Hopefully its Kozza moving down, though that won't be an advantage for us over there. -

He'll only take the piss if he is allowed to. Time for Worky to stand up for themselves and sack him, pronto. Workington are crying out for a decent No1, Hansen was never going to carry it on a 7 something average. -
Newcastle Diamonds V Glasgow Tiger's 25th May

Definitely points dropped after being well ahead. Its probably worse knowing that the 0131's won there last weekend though we won't get better chances than this. There will be a raft of team changes at the next set of averages with teams strengthening up all over the place. We have a run of away matches from the end of June and we need to start making them count, with points. As it is we don't have a home meeting for a fortnight then its EDI away and home the following weekend and they are capable on the road! -
To be fair to Kozza he is only riding when Glasgow are and with the absolute lack of home meetings with rain offs and reserved fixtures where we can't get anyone to come isn't helping. We aren't riding at home again for another 2 weeks now. I thought in the Sheffield match he was overtrying and causing his own problems though he is averaging over 6 so far this season. Today the meeting lost momentum after a decent first couple of heats, the ongoing tapes malfunction, Steve Worrall bursting an airbag then getting extra time for 3 rides in a row killed the excitement of back to back races where the biting wind made the time seem that bit more longer.
-
A not too difficult meeting for Glasgow on a bitterly cold afternoon. Steve Worrall was arguably one of the best visitors to Ashfield this season but got little back up. Lindgren was ok and Rose got a first and second either side of two zeros. Jim Sarjeant was excellent for Glasgow, as was Lawson until blowing another engine crossing the line unbeaten in ht13 and not re-appearing in ht15. Hopefully we are good for at least a point tomorrow at NCL and that Morris makes the 2 minutes in ht1, unforegivable in your first ride!
-
Which are probably going to be the most competitive Aussie State Championships of all time!
-
After next Sunday against Newcastle, the following 2 Sundays are down as reserved. We should be trying to get 2 of the 3 rain off teams to run then and if not we should be looking to pull forward 2 fixtures from later in the season. We can't afford to have 3 weeks between home meetings, our schedule has already been interrupted and further lack of continuity only serves to put off those newcomers who have been turning out in numbers.
-
Glasgow have only had 4 competitive Sunday meetings in the 8 weeks since the season started. Any more rain offs and we will have a serious backlog, last year was problematic enough getting teams to agree new dates. The only upside is the EL riders are continuing to ride elsewhere and won't become race rusty.
-
Whilst the national audience brings a different perspective, for us Glasgow fans it was the first night meeting in a long time and the track was better. It was deeper than normal, being cooler than our normal 3pm start it retained the moisture that made it grippier and faster. Floodlights brought an added dimension, would love for us to return to Friday nights. Tapes issue aside it was all positive, what a difference from our club of just 12 months ago. Now we just need the weather to play ball to get a run of home meetings going.
-
Victor has been p1sh so far this season at home, replacing him with another 3.00 pointer isn't exactly a disadvantage. Think I'd prefer Summers at No4 for ht14, Dmitri has shown similar form to Palovaara and is up against Garrity whereas he would be better matched to Birks who was absolutely abysmal on his last visit to Glasgow.

It should be publicly available information anyway. Most sports offer transparency just not ours. -

That's the point, Glasgow are for now anyway, not short of a few bob and didn't need to get this meeting on as if a rematch would cost more i.e. paying Plymouth travel expenses all the way rather than just from Worky last night. The only angle I can see is that we haven't had a competitive home meeting for 4 weeks and the riders need the practice before the Sky match however that also isn't applicable as the double uppers of Lawson, Sarjeant and Morris have been riding all over the place during that time so aren't race rusty. Summers has had a guest appearance and Victor is riding in Sweden. So I don't get it, why did it have to be on regardless. The new owners have brought professionalism to Glasgow that previously we never had, however today's debacle has returned us back to that, inconvenienced their own fans and damaged their reputation. The process of accountability must begin internally to find out what happened, who made the decision, why they made the decision and how we ensure it never happens again. Hopefully! -

Some flawed decision making here. If the track was deemed unacceptable at 2.20 by the referee after 2 hours of dry weather what must it have looked at 12.20 just as the rain eventually stopped. That was the time to call a halt to it. The rain came back on about 4.30 and hasn't gone off. Giving the weather a chance to clear is fine to try to get it on, leaving that to within an hour of the start when fans have started travelling is not. Whilst it was the ref's decision, its one that should have been made before that.
