Other than Morris I don't recall a Glasgow rider having any issues. -

Funny how most of the last page of posters weren't at the match and why you can't draw conclusions for watching live updates. Ht6 Birks went under Sarjeant off bend 4 carried too much speed into the first bend and lost it. Injured his shoulder and withdrawn, rider error. Ht7 Morris bike cut out thundering into the third bend and he came down a cropper. Withdrawn from the meeting, cause - bike issue. In the rerun likewise happened to Compton who then had bike issues for the rest of the evening. Ht7 the moronic Garrity carried far too much speed down the backstraight, went under Lawson almost wiping him out, was never going to make the turn and fell leaving Bellego nowhere to go but run into him on the deck. I thought it was telling that once on his feet Bellego never even turned round to check on his team mate but walked back to the pits on his own. Bellego withdrawn because of his team mate. In the rerun the absolutely wild Bates binned it on the exiting the first bend realising he would make it out of the second bend. Rider error. I could quite happily not see him at a speedway track anytime soon, his scores on the updates are deceptive as when he wasn't locking up he was running out of control to scrape the fence, no one would dare get near him. Once again Glasgow were there for the taking, Berge was poor at reserve though Garrity cost it for Sheffield with his absolute stupidity. Unlikely to be enough points for us to take to Sheffield in 2 weeks. -

Shortage of riders overall! Sending Ty Proctor home on a technicality was a nonsense, perhaps the points limit for overseas riders should be lowered to 5.50, would still keep the likes of Campton out but would mean some of the better Australians could still come here and bolster the PL. We simply don't have enough British riders to fill our teams. -

Seems like we need a new rider. The shoulder issue has been ongoing for a while and is unlikely to cure itself. The logic for signing Howe was sound, no work permit required, no doubling up or foreign commitments and knew all the tracks. However we are back to the drawing board and struggling in the middle order, available riders will be hard to come by. I've noticed that Anders Thomsen is going ok and won the Euro U21 semi final last night. He is frustrating little bugger but on a better deal where he isn't paying his own air fares, could he do a job for us? I'm lost for potential riders otherwise! -
Berwick Bandits V Glasgow Tigers 27/6/15
MD replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Glasgow turned up with 2 NL riders to cover 3 riders and were never going to trouble Berwick. As well as having no presence at reserve we had no middle order to speak of. Alarm bells are ringing with David Howe, in only his third match. He isn't scoring and his shoulder issue has re-emerged, as it did at Peterborough on Wednesday. He could yet turn out to be a very short signing. We can't afford to carry any riders if we have any ambition to be succesful this year, as it is I have my doubts that James Sarjeant can carry it off now he is in the 1-5. Summers has far exceeded my expectations this year and is forgiven for a poor night. Blaming the Berwick track is nothing more than a deflection tactic for those taken in by the hype. We will leave the expectation that we have the right to win everywhere to the 0131's. As it is we have frailties and at minimum need Berge to re-find his confidence at reserve, he has only performed in one match this season. -
How many people in London are actually British, legally entitled to be here or interested in speedway. Its not always about numbers.

Surely supporting your team is greater than the choice of a guest rider, especially when your promotion have openly said crowds for some recent matches have been below break even.

They were before the new silencer changes in 2011 and produced brilliant racing. Riders like Bomber, Hans Anderson and a few others have never been the same since they were changed.
-
Track was over-prepared, little chance of passing and showed up poorly on Sky. Glasgow never did enough to win, especially in the opening heats where they picked up too many last places. David Howe will take a bit of time to get up to speed though its a bit of a concern he was pulled from his third ride with a shoulder issue. Is this the same injury that affected him earlier in the year?

Glasgow V Ipswich - Sunday 21 June 2015 3pm

Hawkins rattled into the fence at high speed in his second ride when on his own at the back and it clearly knocked the stuffing out of him. As for the incident with the pole at the start line, it was there to stop the tapes blowing into the riders, no one else had an issue with it and it wasn't impeding his view of the tapes in any way, can only put it down to him getting a nose bleed he was so far north. Tungate yesterday is pretty much what he is always like at Ashfield, its surprising how Ipswich fans are not aware of this. One more point from him would have got them a deserved draw against an unconvincing home side. -

I've said before Tungate is unreliable and so it proves again, another point from him or a third place from Hawkins would of given Ipswich a draw they probably deserved. Glasgow were there for the taking today, as the track became slicker the Witches came into their own around ht8, adapted to the changing conditions and gated like demons courtesy of Manzares, Nielsen and the impressive Covatti. For several weeks now Morris has come out for ht1, been unhappy with his bike, returned to make changes and just made the 2 minutes. Its time to change that and be better prepared. One point from your opening two rides isn't good enough for a No1 at home. Last week as this wasn't a surprise, we need to be better at home. Howe had a difficult afternoon on his debut mainly because he didn't gate. -

Home win, still lost as to why Ipswich still persevere with Heeps and Tungate after all these years. Hopefully Berge can kick start his season at reserve and that Dishington isn't the ref for this one. -

30 point home win -
He needs to get up to race fitness pretty rapid. DH has never been that good at the now Stade, and should be concentrating on home form first. With Berge having had a generally poor season so far, I don't see him changing much at reserve, so Howe's points will be valuable.

The rule already does exist! 2 mins on straight away where there is a false start but no rider disqualified. Where a rider is disqualified there is a 1 minute gap, presumably for the TM to make a decision then the 2 minute time allowance comes on. Riders are not allowed to leave the track during this time unless track/fence repairs are required. There is also a rule that there should be no more than 5 minutes between heats including the 2 minute time allowance. How often does than happen with r/r riders in back to back heats? The previous week against Scunny, Dishington never once applied these rules. During one heat that had to be rerun the riders were sitting on their bikes at the pit gate, arms folded, bikes long since re-prepped and looking bored when he finally twigged about 2 minutes. You can image how us in the crowd felt.
