Or try again for Friday evenings which would seem the obvious choice. -

We have had the benefit of Sarjeant being a 3 pointer and he has found his level as a 5 something rider albeit with a dubious starting technique. Victor is the far greater prospect IMO and should be retained. He needs a shove sometimes but his development would continue nicely between riding in the top league in Sweden and having continuity with the Tigers over here. Lawson and Summers will be retained as we own their registration thereafter i think we will make changes. We need a strong No1 and if we could twist his arm id have Anders Thomson back on an average less than 6. Im sure we could arrange to pay his air fares and he wouldnt feel the need to race his team mates. I listened to some of the media stuff last night with Stewart Dickson saying he wanted to go with a young team, though i wouldnt discount Matthew Wethers on a 4 as a reserve next year. -

The owners at Glasgow have made it clear that the team must break even to gate receipts, whilst they have been happy to spent on the stadium to improve facilities. They have already had a purge on the piss takers trying to get in as Seniors/OAP's. They are very business minded and wont shirk a tackle. -

We need a genuine No1 to join Summers. Despite best intentions for the last 2 seasons neither Wolbert or Morris have worked. Whilst Morris was injured for the mid part of the season he wasnt exactly pulling up any trees before that. I doubt he comes cheap and that budget could be used more effectively next year. I also wonder if our raceday will remain a Sunday, moving to a Friday for example may provide more options. -

Morris has been a pale shadow of the No1 we expected for most of the season. He has been injured for the bulk of the middle part of the season and is unable to win races at the Stade D'Ashfield. I cant see us inviting him back for 2016. I wont buy Richard Lawson having bike problems, psychological perhaps. As far as i can see he hasnt ridden since the Rye House debacle 2 weeks ago. Preparation is everything in this sport, his points return is unacceptable. -

48 hours to go and still no write down of Monarchs chances TheScotsman! Must be confident! -
Thomsen on 5.68 would be a sensational signing for GLA, but unlikely with a Sunday raceday. If Berge could sort out his attitude he would be worth another punt on 4.05, having dropped more than half a point since joining Redcar.

Thats a fair point, though it should be standard admission prices anyway. A combined ticket would take joined up thinking! The result on Friday night will determine how many handfuls of 0131's travel over.

The Australian State Championships will be the most hotly contested for years as a result of the Visa situation. I dont see Campton being a hot tip somehow and really wonder if his standard of rider gets in, there is little point in actually having Visas.

This Friday will make a significant contribution to Monarchs income.

Twelve months ago we had unsurmountable debts and were dead in the water with crowds of 450/500 so yes. That was then, now our poorest crowd of the season has been around 1200, we will likely double that for the LCF and we owe no one. There's nothing I can see that justifies a 25% increase for the same number of races.

Got to say I'm disappointed with the pricing policy for the LC Final I've just read about on Twitter. £20 to get in on the day or £17 if you buy online by 25/9. Normal entry is £15. Are we getting something extra for the additional fiver? It appears not. The Edinburgh leg is similarly priced, not that I was going but it seems to me the paying fans are being milked because they can. By all means move the ticketing online then it is easier to gauge the crowd level should it be getting close to capacity but FFS treat us with some respect. Its a £15 meeting with 15 heats where the aggregate winner takes the trophy. I'll think about it!

Cant see Josh ever coming back to GLA. Likewise Morris, been out injured half the season and when he has ridden we havent seen the best of him. -

Put out a press release apologising for an understrength team, the injuries were beyond Rye's control and various named riders turned down the booking. Or words to that effect. -

Craighead Park was 30 years ago! Today was inexcusable, i dont believe for a minute that no other PL riders werent available. Despite the threat of rain it was another thoroughly decent crowd thanks to a Groupon offer and some promotional work in the city centre during the week. Those punters couldnt have had a worse introduction to speedway, some noticably left around ht8. A BSPA fine should issued for fielding an under strength side. Injuries happen but FFS this was as poor as it gets. -

Its an hour to tapes up, we dont even know who is riding for the opposition whose season is over and its currently pi55ing down! Not exactly an event to inspire the good people new and old who have turned out this season. -

Id be interested to see Wells away average, home form is a given for a genuine No1. He has done well after an awful 2014 but i just dont see him maintaining it. -

Perhaps not the best example Ive used but Worky are crying out for a decent No1. Wells isnt the answer just like Hansen wasnt this year. -

Thereafter the rest of the team should be moved on, perhaps with the exception of Wethers. To bring back the fans the team needs to be refreshed and not the same old tired line up of Bach, Howarth etc. Josh Grajczonek never did ride in Poland, perhaps he could be tempted back and be the genuine No1 Worky are crying out for. -
Courtesy of http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news/article.asp?id=2194 There will be no meeting at Armadale on Friday and the next meeting will be against Berwick in our final Premier league match of the season on Friday 18th September. Said co-promoter Alex Harkess, "We have reached the time of the year when our next match, to a large extent, is dependent on the result of fixtures elsewhere. We did approach Glasgow to race the League Cup Final on Friday but they were unable to take up that offer. To be fair it wouldn't have been perfect for us as we want to publicise that match as much as possible to maximise the crowd." "Berwick were prepared to come this Friday or next Friday and, for various reasons it was better to bring them on the 18th. One good reason was that Erik Riss was keen to be in Germany on Friday for the practice session of the next Long Track Grand Prix. With Joonas Kylmakorpi withdrawing from that competition Erik needs to pick up ten points to go top of the standings although their are a number of riders now in close competition." Talks are ongoing with Glasgow about the dates for the League Cup Final and we will announce these as soon as possible.

Classic 0131 mentality.
