  1. Agree with much of that, what a great meeting, with the first eight heats all within a second of the track record such was the standard of the riding. Bewley was sensational in his second heat aggressively going under Lawson with a very self assured style. He won ht14 untroubled and took second from Garcia on the line in ht10, how we could have done with that point. Somerset started well winning 5 of the first 6 heats opening a 6 point lead but Glasgow fought back to be 6 ahead at ht10. Unfortunately the major regrade after then handed back the advantage to Somerset as they won easy 5-1's in heats 11 & 13 which effectively sealed the deal. Whilst Bewley outscored Zac Waj points for the last month, we have all played that card and no point complaining, Somerset were simply better. A home defeat at this stage is perhaps what we needed, proves we arent invincible despite the hype and will hopefully restore some desire at the top end of the team. It would be interesting to know what Summers and Tungates spat was about after ht15, but well done the Rebels anyway.
  2. Edinburgh must be regretting the two suspect call offs in June against Plymouth, where Palovaara was to guest in a full strength Devils team that still included Kurtz and against Glasgow where Doolan was to guest in place of Bach, I think. #didnaefancyit #microclimate #damagewasalreadydonetothetrackbutdrytoday #trackstaffwhoworkwonderswereallonholiday
  3. Off your head more like. Both teams are well matched at 1-5, with Jorgensen strengthening Somerset for a rider who has never visited before. We have to pick up big points at reserve to build up any kind of lead. Bewley has yet to take a liking to Ashfield, hopefully it doesnt begin on Sunday.
  4. Hopefully a shorter break at ht10 with nigh on 20 minutes of tractor grading today which lost the momentum of the meeting.
  5. Just like last year Ipswich were hard visitors to overcome. Covatti was excellent to watch with Barker and King pretty decent. Cant work out why they put King off gate 1 in ht15, gave him no chance. Ten points from the weekend is superb, time for a rest with Somerset up next week.
  6. Indeed, Bellego has moved club every season since starting in the PL with GLA. Berge was a lazy little toad, only interested when things were on his terms.
  7. Absolutely, at this rate he'll go back to No2 at the next averages. These away wins take the pressure off, we still have to reschedule our PL trip along the M8 and I wouldnt have liked to be going there needing a win to get second spot. We still also have to fit in Sheffield at home, though if Garrity is riding he's usually worth a few points for us with his ridiculous riding style.
  8. You little beauty! Looks like Bewley got us out of jail when Summers and Worrall hadnt warmed up, Campbell will be furious. Seven points over two meetings is superb, now we must avoid the potential banana skin of Ipswich tomorrow.
  9. Palovaara guesting at Edinburgh, ive a feeling that meeting will succumb to the weather, just like Plymouth found out!
  10. Obviously not at Le Stade D'Ashfield for the last 0131 meeting with Masters in his back pocket, twice.
  11. Four big points banked. Can we break our inconsistency on the road and do the same tomorrow on another slick track?
  12. Brace yourself, the self righteous brigade are meant to give the criticism not receive it.
  13. Towards the end of the Stoney era im sure the Worky track started to be prepared super slick and things changed. They used to be best visitors to GLA by far but not for the last 10 years by and large.
  14. Pretty poor meeting for the first half, Worky never really got going until ht13, being poorly served by their woeful middle order of Campton, Hansen and Jensen. EF's for Worrall and Lunna stopped Glasgow hitting 60 though only just. Ht15 was decent as Lawson went from third to first. Lunna again ran riot from reserve but perhaps the only memorable part of the meeting was the unseasonable wind which made poor opposition all the less bearable to watch.
  15. Decent but not insurmountable lead for Berwick to take into the away leg.
  16. Jim MacGregor saw through it the first time on Sunday, surprisingly. Twice in a week just wouldnt be good form.
  17. Surprised Branford replaced Lanham and not Morley in ht14, surely Lanhams experience could have brought more even if he had been poor to that point.
  18. The track staff will work wonders to get it on, you dont have any guests that worry them. Should things not go to plan starts will be delayed and the TM will be unavailable in the pits. Moral high ground no more Mr Campbell, you did it right in front of our noses and we have been kind to you by not going OTT in the match report on the GLA website. Wonder if the same would happen in reverse? Anyway m'on the Rockets.
  19. EDI dont have the luxury of Sedgmen to step up to the plate like they did last year when that happens. Im sure they would have thought Eric Riss would have grown more into that role this year but like Clegg he really hasnt pushed on from 2015. Mark Riss looks much of a muchness of his brother, be interesting to see his final average in October.
  20. Lunna at reserve for the next month will be a trump card though Fernando has gone off the boil making the jump up to No2. Need to be at our best to beat Somerset in 3 weeks.
  21. I thought Michael Max did Trent a dis-service today talking about his best heat. Im certain it was he and Christian Henry in a ht8 against Newport who scored an against all odds 5-1 against Frank Smart golden double and Craig Watson golden double tactical substitute in a moment of Neil Street managerial madness!
